Service was friendly and informative - they have a pretty extensive menu but the staff know the menu and can offer recommendations. The ambiance is really what would deter me from coming back. Personally, it's just not my vibe, feels a little bit claustrophobic like I'm in a old beachside cottage or mini barn. The floors are worn and tired and pained this jarring shade of teal. The plate my ham and cheese was served on was a similar shade. Blue is not a color that triggers appetite traditionally so I'm curious as to why this choice was made. If I were to come back I'd probably either sit outside or take my drink to go. Really a bummer because the latte was so good. But again, just personal preference.

The owners are clearly passionate about what they're doing. Everything they make is quality ingredients. They take excellent care of their space and their customers. They are just genuinely wonderful people who put their all into their craft and give back to their community too. My Italian SIL came to visit and I knew I had to bring her here for the best coffee (being from Italy, she is quite particular about her food and drink) and she loved all of it! They are near the freeway but you can't see it from the cafe at all, you can hear it a bit but its really not that bad, definitely not enough to ruin the vibe. They also have a cute little kids area which is a plus for me as a mom with a special needs son. Jamie was so kind when I brought him in, she sat down and played dominoes with him and he had such a great time. They even helped collect money and supplies for the victims of the LA fire last year. This place is incredible and a true gem in our community.

We started in the kitten room, and the time flew by so fast that we never even made it to the adult cat area. The kittens were incredibly playful, social, and engaged, and it was very clear they are being well cared for. According to the new owner, they're not associated with the last one in any way. Chapter 25 has its own theme that I love which is "kindness". You'll see stickers, art works, and signs both inside the store and outside that promoting kindness. I am obsessed with matcha drinks and matcha anything! If the place offers matcha drinks or desserts, I'd have to try it. From all the pictures on Yelp, their strawberry matcha seems like the most popular item, so of course I had to try it my first time here. The matcha is ceremonial quality, whisked and made as ordered, then pair with fresh strawberry puree pieces and milk. I have tried matcha drinks/latte from pretty much every coffee shops around that offer them, Chapter 25 is hands down the best one! Glad Chapter 25 is here. I just have to control myself and not come here more than a couple times a week lol.
