Went to Nova Kitchen & Bar for the first time on Father's Day (6/21/2026) for dinner and we had a reservation for 5 people at 5:30pm. Given that we had a reservation, we didn't have to wait long to be seated, however we were seated in the the restaurant towards the left with the ramp going down to the tables and sushi bar. It was quiet, so quiet that we were the only ones seated in this particular section and we could hear the sushi staff talking in Korean. I did appreciate that the table was large enough to place all the entrees and side dishes we ordered, and it was easier to hear ourselves when trying to enjoy the food. We ordered the octopus, sinigang chicken wings, crab cake, garlic noodles, miso cod, and steak platter to share along with the chocolate ganache cake for dessert. The standouts were the sinigang chicken wings and the steak. The service was excellent, our server even accommodated our request to sit on the other side of the restaurant which almost had a dance club type feel with the lighting and ambiance. I wanted to be where the people were at and to see the decor as well as the bar. When I asked the server why we weren't sat on the more busier side in the beginning, he said it was because he was serving the side by the sushi bar which is usually the side that he serves. I thought it was because we came in with my dad who uses a four wheeled walker and they wanted us to sit on the more quieter side, but I did see another Asian man on the louder more happening side and he had a walker as well. I also noticed that there were other private rooms which would be great for parties. The parking was free and it was in a lot by the hotel on the property. I dined at NOVA three times in the week I was in the area for work. As a foodie, I can't say enough great things about the service. Shoutout to Jimmy, and the women at both the front desk and behind the bar. They were always accommodating and polite. To add, the restaurant is gorgeous--perfect for a business dinner or a date night. My faves? The garlic noodles, and the mushroom toast. Took a date to Nova - the ambiance was great and the Roll we ordered is what earned the 3 stars here. Unfortunately the food was very underwhelming, and the seating was a bit disappointing for how dead the place was (had to sit at a 6 seat high top just the two of us). I also had a reservation. The price was honestly great for a date night with some cocktails. The oh my honey roll was a hit forsure and I would go back to focus more on the sushi and rolls ! Cocktails were not mixed well and we were fine not ordering another one. The chili oil wontons were very disappointing, I would bet they're bought in bulk previously frozen and thawed out and served. Taste was off. Miso cod was good, broccolini almost inedible. The scallion skirt steak pancake was good, the steak itself lacked flavor and was extremely chewy. The strawberry panna cotta was just not it. Skip out on that one. 3/5 stars for the sushi and ambiance. Solid date night spot or pregame dinner with friends if you're going out in Anaheim! Just reading the menu online had me salivating back at home. The ambiance is very sleek. Nice for a fun date night. I really like all the dishes I ordered! The brussel sprouts were prepared perfectly - shaved! It was more of a brussel sprout salad, which I really enjoyed. I promised myself I'd only order one roll - Seared with A Kiss. It was fantastic! The toro inside was super buttery. The wings were good too, especially the sauce that came on the side; it had a nice sour kick to it. Surprisingly, all the food came out very fast! I went with friends to catch up while I was in town, and we got so wrapped up in conversation and food that we never even took photos, which honestly says a lot. We came during happy hour to check it out and ordered mostly from the happy hour menu. There were more than enough options to feed three people comfortably, leaving leftovers. The drinks we ordered were not on the happy hour menu, though there were specials on wine and beer. One of the main reasons we chose Nova Kitchen was that it is vegan-friendly, and it did not disappoint. For the vegans, we ordered edamame, a cucumber roll, and had the Brussels sprouts and chow mein modified to be vegan. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly crispy, exactly how I like them, and the chow mein was super flavorful. We added tofu for protein, which made it even better. For the non-vegan dishes, we tried the spicy tuna roll, volcano roll, mushroom toast, and the mini chirashi bowl. The spicy tuna and volcano rolls were solid and pretty standard for a good sushi spot. The standout for me, and the reason I would come back, was the mini chirashi bowl. The fish was incredibly fresh, soft, and melted in my mouth. As for the mushroom toast, I loved the mushrooms but could have done without the toast itself. The drinks we ordered were not great and are probably not something I would get again. The service was terrific. Our server was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and very attentive, especially since we arrived just before happy hour ended. He got our order in quickly, had great recommendations, and made the experience even better. We were also told about their New Year's Eve party happening the next day. The ticket included food, drinks, and dancing, which sounded like a great deal and something I would definitely check out next year. Since the restaurant was already decorated for the New Year's Eve party, it was a little hard to gauge the usual ambiance fully, but what we experienced was fun, sparkly, and lively, which we loved. Been wanting to try this place out after finding it on Yelp and seeing all the reviews and recommendations. Went around 6 on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. We ordered alot of the recommendations we saw on yelp and we enjoyed most of it. The Wagyu Beef Skillet , mushroom toast and garlic noodz stood out the most and I highly recommend them. The miso cod had some flavor but a real fishy after taste I'm not sure if it was just the piece we had. The chili wontons were alright bug definitely wouldn't order again. The Hawk Ribeye had no real flavor and was slightly under cooked. The chocolate ganache cake was just a normal basic cake nothing too special. And the strawberry panna cotta was a big let down it was just whipped cream with strawberry sorbet. The service was alright even with it being a little less busy our server never really checked in on us. And the ambiance felt like we were in a Vegas night club and was a little dark with a little mood lighting and a giant LED wall in the back. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here unless someone in my party wanted to try it out and If I did come back I would probably just order the Wagyu Beef Skillet and garlic noodz with maybe a side of rice and a couple drinks. What a gastronomic feast we had at Nova! Everything about this restaurant was magical, from the moment we stepped inside to the time we left with our happy bellies full of a decadent meal. We started with shrimp cocktail app (4/5), chili oil wonton (5/5)and the spicy tuna crispy rice (5/5). The Panko crusted salmon was the star of the dinner. The name may be plain but the taste was beyond with its perfectly crispy outside, melt in your mouth tender inside! Nothing plain about this dish. Absolutely loved this place and sad we didn't try it sooner! This is a beautiful place to enjoy whether it's for a special occasion or just for fun. We came here before our Disney trip began -- we walked from our hotel (Hyatt Regency) which is right next door. It was happy hour when we arrived. They have an extensive HH menu that offers a variety of items for any palate -- the menu is tapa style and is meant to be shared. We ordered edamame, fried chicken baos, crunchy rice spicy tuna, Brussels sprouts, and two orders of the steak. Everything was EXCELLENT! The flavors in each dish are truly just so delicious and well-balanced in texture and taste. Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong ordering anything on this menu -- everything was a 5/5 for my family and I. I would say the highlight for me was the chicken bao buns though -- perfectly fried chicken in a soft bao bun was so good! The chutney that came with the steak was soo tasty too -- my daughter (who is very picky) even said she could drink it! Lol that says a lot. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake -- super chocolatey and paired with some vanilla ice cream and berries. It was a nice way to end our meal. Definitely ask about the happy hour "7" dice roll -- if you roll a 7 with two dice, you get up to $75 of happy hour items off your bill! We stayed at the Hyatt that is directly next door, and saw they were advertising for this happy hour so being that we love sushi, we gave it a shot. The service from the jump to throughout our meal was easily some of the best we've experienced in a long time! Hostess was so kind and sweet, although I never got her name. The food runner was also extremely friendly and timely. Now the food itself; the food was outstanding. We also tried the chili oil wontons, and I've never had anything that flavor mixed with micro greens, I cannot say enough about this place. This restaurant should be booked days out!! I went to Nova Kitchen last night with a large group, and overall the presentation of everyone's dishes was very beautiful. Unfortunately, my experience with my own order wasn't great. I ordered the miso cod, but it took about 45 minutes to arrive--long after everyone else at the table had already received their meals (and even the sharables they ordered afterward). Someone in our group even placed a second order 20 mins after I ordered my entrée, and their food still arrived before mine. I asked two different servers about my dish, and both times I was told it would be "out in a minute," so it was clear my meal had been forgotten. It was disappointing having to sit and watch everyone eat while waiting for my entrée. The bright side was that our main server was very kind and offered a complimentary dessert to make up for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. Some out of the normal sushi rolls, and other appetizers. Most of the dishes are small and easily shared, in tapas style. As a result, I had an amazing meal and was able to sample a decent part of the menu. Apps: All incredible. Jimmy was so attentive! We rented the speakeasy area for my dad's Father's Day brunch -- he loves karaoke, so it was the perfect spot. We did the AYCE brunch and (the karaoke area for only $25 per person!) from 12 to 3pm, and everything was great: the sushi was fresh, and my favorites were the matcha French toast and the chicken and waffles. The specialty drinks were delicious, and the happy hour prices were more than reasonable. Everything was so good that we went back for a second happy hour in a row. The second visit was just as enjoyable, so much that we decided to visit on Sunday to check out their all you can eat brunch. The selections were amazing with a few exceptions. Some standouts were the ube pancakes, matcha French toast, Toro tartare toast, and garlic scallop fried rice. Some items on the menu left more to the imagination such as the spicy tuna crispy rice, which had no distinct flavor, and the fried oysters. Outside of those selections, the brunch options were amazing and worth the cost. Shout out to Ryan and Koda for the hospitality, and the bartenders that served us during happy hour.
