Love this market, it's beautiful as you walk in the door, it's well light and spacious. They have great weekly specials so I enjoy great savings on my favorite items. The staff is friendly and always helpful and ready to help and all with a smile. Customer service at its best is still alive and well. Their produce department is always fresh and they always have great sales in the meat department as well. We ordered garlic bread in advance for a training exercise for a group. The manager (I think his name was Eric or Erik) confirmed our last-minute order in an email, and copied the bakery manager and staff on it. Coming here to say that Nugget has hands down the best (and affordable) deli sandwiches and hot pizza bar of any grocery store out there, and almost every pizza place and deli out there too. It felt safe, the staff is always very kind, and their food is delicious. We don't do our regular grocery shopping at Nugget since it's a little pricy, but we LOVE picking up sandwiches and pizza for picnics and treating ourselves to their delicious pastries and baked goods. Re. the juice/coffee bar, during Covid, like others, decided they would no longer let you bring your refillable cup (sigh, history will not be kind to the strange Covid rules). However, when you were allowed to bring your reusable cup, they would give you 25 cents off. They are back to allowing reusable cups but you no longer get the discount. I was told that it was costing too much money. First, I talked to two different long time juice/coffee bar employees and they said it was very uncommon for someone to bring a reusable cup and those who do, didn't realize they got a discount -- you pretty much have to remind them. So, let's say FOUR people brought a cup and got the discount each day -- Nugget loses(*) a $1 a day. Managers: Please reconsider giving a 25 cent discount to incentive reusable cups for three reasons. 1) you were not losing money 2) Peets gives 25 cents off and doesn't hide that fact -- they have a prominent sign about it in their store. 3) You tout your sustainability (https://www.nuggetmarket.com/sustainability/) but don't reward and it virtually nobody recycles your plastic smoothie cups. *their coffees and smoothies range from $5-almost $10. We LOVE nugget. I mean, seriously. I can't say one negative thing about this place. I wouldn't do all of my weekly shopping here, just because the price comparison from target on a bag of flour is pretty significant. However, we buy our produce and meat here. Their juice bar is soooooo amazing and don't even get me started on their bakery. We never have a family event without a cake from nugget. Their lemon lift is incredible. Even if you aren't a huge fan of lemon, it's light and perfect with vanilla ice cream. Oh and their sandwich bar- soooo good. Their sandwiches are huge and packed with good quality meats and produce. They're about $10-12 each which is a great price for what you get. The employees are always extremely friendly and helpful. I've never had a situation where I've had a bad experience. read more

I have to say that whenever I am at the Nugget, and need some information, the staff goes above and beyond my expectations! Tonight, I was there asking about a certain dip they have. It is normally delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I was told to come back on Wednesday, which I did. Well, apparently, the Nugget did not get their delivery!! Very frustrating for me, as I had been there on the Tuesday...and then, again one day later! Unfortunately, they did not have the dip. I love this store. They have a good selection of everything and the store is immaculate. The people at the bakery are friendly and helpful. Their hamburger patties are so good; they're restaurant quality. I drive 30 minutes to shop here. Once in awhile I will encounter a not so friendly checker, but overall I have a good shopping experience when I come here. We love visiting their bakery section. Recently we got a fruit tart and macaroons. Not only the fruit tart looks good, it tasted delicious too! The Nugget has always impressed with their celebratory cakes. Although, we don't only feed the taste buds, but our eyes as well. A recent experience I had that could have turned out differently, went in another direction and led me to unfortunately write the following. Well in advance I did place an order for a simple champagne cake that wasn't even double layered. Granted it was to be finished by 6 am on Sunday and I will admit I was late to pick up. Regardless of what time when it should be completed its assumed all cakes are made with the same quality standards. The previous week I was informed the cake would be finished the day before. Yet, instead of the same satisfied reaction I've had dozens before being revealed the cake I was thrown off by the writing and how the cake was decorated. Letters were pinched close to one another. Even more it was hastily done so. Furthermore, without going into more detail the cake's decoration as a whole was rushed and sloppy. To be fair I was going to let it go this time and take it home with no fret. Although, right before getting the cake an older employee whispered something to the sweet young lady who was helping me. To tell me the reasons of why the heart bled etc. The older employee's latter demeanor and interaction wasn't the guest service that the Nugget above all takes focus on. Instead of reasons on why the cake is not up to par, a sincere apology without the attitude would have been fine or just decorate the cake right the first time. read more

I'm all in! I appreciated that they had their store brand, gourmet offerings and brands that I'm used to seeing. I also noticed was how much organic items they have available. IE: they carry organic Martinelli's apple cider & it's apx the same as buying a bottle at any retail supermarket. The prices on everything was reasonable. I'll start by saying I am a huge Nugget fan and have been for years. All the Delis I've been to have been exceptional. Not so for the Vacaville nugget. The staff could use a good manager. writing all orders on the same piece of deli wrap must result in lost orders. I waited in line for ten minutes, then placed my order. Came back ten minutes later, no order, finally I ask someone, and it's on a back counter. The bread on the sandwich was stale, so I can't even recommend the sandwich. Just finished another trip to Nugget for groceries. During this pandemic, they are by far the most conscientious grocery store I've been to. Mask requirement. A person greeting. Wipes by the door. Social distancing. Clerks in masks and staying respectfully distanced. Consistent! Beyond that...excellent produce with lots of organic options. Wonderful meat section, especially the fish! Best selection of salmon around. Well-stocked shelves. Friendly, well-trained staff. ***Pre COVID-19 Visit*** This is a very nice grocery store! When I was first stationed at Travis AFB in 2004, I lived right around the corner and I would always buy my food from them. I definitely remember getting really good Chinese food from this place. Everything in their vegetable department is fresh and very healthy. They have a great selection of wines, meats, pastries, ready made meals, etc. The store doesn't get too packed, but you'll get your decent crowd throughout the week. Parking can be tight so try to park as far as you can to avoid traffic in the lot. The prices are a bit on the high end, but this is quality food so it's worth it to spend money on. If I could give more STARS I would. Specifically to the Bakery! Today I went to pick up my daughters cake for her Birthday Celebration & it looked nothing like we requested. My heart sunk. It was clearly miscommunication with the person that took my order at night. The staff explained to me the reason for the miscommunication & immediately said we can fix it. They were so nice and it seemed like a couple people dropped what they were doing just to take care of me. Everyone was so nice to me and you could tell they genuinely felt bad and wanted to make sure my daughter got the cake she had hoped for. I have worked in hospitality and this literally moved me with the sincerity of so many people. The decorator looked at the picture and made an identical match to the cake. Then without me asking... they gave me a refund and apologized. I was shocked and told them I wasn't asking for that and they are making it all ok in a timely fashion but they insisted. I was so thankful. I asked if they would take a tip hoping to give them the money I got from the refund but they insisted they do not take tips. They saved my daughters Bday & did it with heart & kindness. I am so thankful.... And it was delicious!!! I hope the right people see this. read more
