Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (don't mind the Chicken Salad (Che Cali) & Egg Rolls (V K Foods)... having a party, foods from all over LOL)
    Linh Y.

My Mom and I have ordered food from Golden Bull on many occasions. Our go-to items are Hainan Chicken with rice (my Mom's fav) and Hainan Chicken with rice noodles in soup (my fav). The chicken is always on point... very moist and delicious. Best steamed chicken ever! You may request white or dark meat. Drumstick for my Mom please LOL. I go for the dark meat, but most recently I switched to drumstick, too... there just seems to be a lot more meat on the drumstick side than the wing side LOL. They also do party trays which we ordered for my brother's housewarming and birthday party recently. Yang Chou fried rice was not as flavorful as we would have liked... very bland. Salt and pepper chicken wings were delish! Big size wings. A tad more salt and pepper would have been nice. Seafood egg noodles were very tasty... ask for substitute of thick egg noodles otherwise they will make it with thin egg noodles. Of course, we also got two whole hainan chicken. Yummy! Staff is always friendly and pleasant. It looks like a family business with husband and wife running the show. Sometimes we'll see a younger man helping out. Prices are decent... not overly priced. They are located in the GW Supermarket food court. Plenty of parking, but they can get full fairly quickly. Give Golden Bull a try when you're in the San Gabriel area. We don't even live in the area, but we're practically out here every weekend LOL! We're devoted to good eats despite of distance... so can you =). Happy is Golden!

The food here is delightful it's nestled in the back of the grocery store. The chicken wings were flavorful be cooked well. The chicken chow mein was plentiful and will last me a few days. Very affordable. The gentleman working the front was extremely kind and brought me a water bottle while I waited.

I ordered #22, the Singapore style fried rice vermicelli noodle. This place seemed to be a mom and pop type of establishment with the guy taking orders and the woman in the back cooking. The shops in this little food court were a little empty as many of the shops were closed on Monday 9/13/21. However, there were a good amount of elderly sitting and eating. The Singapore vermicelli noodles were good. It came in a styrofoam box with a line of foil on the bottom. I've noticed many establishments in LA do this, I'm assuming to keep the food hot? Regardless the vermicelli came with a good amount of onions, bbq pork, and shrimp. I was a little surprised at how much shrimp and pork was given considering it was only $9.50 (cash only). I felt the vermicelli noodles had the curry flavor but it was a tad drier than the ones I've had at other establishments. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this place because it only had a few reviews on Yelp. The taste was pretty good, a little dry, but for the price and quantity of the dish, it was a good deal.

Golden Bull Noodle is one of the best hole in the wall noodle shops you can expect and also great bang for buck. This place is in the Food Court area of "The Square", which is in the same plaza as "The Great Wall Supermarket". This is a no frills hole in the wall. No service as it's not a full on restaurant. I would have to say they have one of the best chow fun and chow mein for the price. The portion sizing is huge and the taste is great as well. I prefer the wet style more than the dry style for their chow fun. Like I said before, this is not a full on restaurant so you will need to serve yourself. They do offer complementary sauces and water that you can get in the front of their booth. They are also cash only so no credit card or debit cards. Overall, highly recommend!

Awesome portions, awesome food, and awesome prices. Based on the value, this place definitely deserves a 5 star rating. For $4 with tax already included, you get a large bowl of wonton noodles with 6 shrimp and pork wontons. For $6 you can get beef chow fun, packed to the rim of the styrofoam container and plenty of beef! So delicious!

The lady @ the front is always sweet. What can you buy with $3.50 nowadays? A bowl of wonton noodle soup from Golden Bull noodle. Yellow HK style thin egg noodle with 4 pieces of wonton. Not the best wonton soup but it was not bad. 3.5 stars!! 1 star for each $ Golden Bull noodle is kinda yummylicious!!

It's not bad for the price $3.50 including tax :p
    Christina W.

Harlems Kitchen was closed so I had no choice but to come here. The cashier/owner was very happy to be getting all the business :p I tried the wonton noodle soup although their specialty is Hainan chicken (they have a write up). The soup was very simple and it was not bad especially for a unbelievable price of $3.50 including tax. It was even served in a ceramic bowl and a huge portion, too! My daughter drank the broth when I was done...

We ended up getting a set for $168 this time, which came with 6 dishes. It's also $35 per lb for lobster, and I asked for the smallest one. Apparently, the smallest one was 4.8 lbs, which was another $168, so I'm not sure if they upsold me. Anyways, the food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. This is what I thought about the food we got. House Seafood Soup - Simple and clean soup. Good portion, and it was soothing to eat. Lots of squid. (4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. Parking - Valet only, but they have street parking in front. I parked on the street since there were plenty of spots on a Wednesday, but I assume it gets busy on weekends.

They opened and closed the door for us which was a nice touch because it was busy inside. We ordered the pork ramen, pork buns, and pork soup dumplings. On to the food! Pork Ramen: 3/5 They give you a hefty amount of noodles and pork. They use a thin noodle here which pairs well with the broth. I truly do believe this was around average for ramen as the flavor in the broth was not as strong or savory. The highlight of the entire entree was definitely the pork, which was tender and flavorful. I probably would not order this again. Pork bun: 5/5 The pork buns were soft and fluffy, almost too good looking to eat. There was the right amount of soup and meat inside that made for a wonderful bite full of flavor. Not dry at all. Would recommend ordering this if you visit. Pork Dumplings: 5/5 The star of the show, the dumplings. They were soft and just like the buns, they had the right amount of soup + meat which made for a delicious bite every time. My toddler even ate some and she's usually super picky about meat. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here for the other noodles, the dumplings, and buns. You can skip on the ramen. I would 100% come back here to dine in. Quick note that parking gets full pretty quick here.

Since my husband and I were in the general area, we decided to get a late dinner on a Saturday night. We walked in around 8:45 pm and were acknowledged by an employee after waiting for maybe 5 minutes asking if we would like a table. But the strange thing was that I had told the the employee who acknowledged me that I wanted a table for 2, he didn't sit us. He looked like he was trying to clean the table but then just walked away... but luckily another employee saw us and asked how many for a table. But anyway, after looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: A11: Fish Siu Mai with Rice Roll, $13.99 prior to tax- I ordered this dish, which was plenty for one person (this dish is found under the appetizer section of the menu). I actually really love rice noodles and also fish siu mai so this was a great combination for me. And the peanut and soy sauce mixture poured all over reminds me of when I had freshly made rice noodle in Hong Kong many years ago. But my husband would prefer the rice noodle not to have any of the sauce (or on the side so he can maybe just dip it if he wanted to). I think this dish could use less of the peanut soy sauce mixture too but I still overall really liked this dish. D9: Grilled Pork Chop with Black Pepper Sauce, $16.99 prior to tax- This dish comes with your choice of either steamed white rice or noodle. My husband decided to have rice. He thought the pork chop was delicious and perfectly cooked. He also really liked the black pepper sauce that he picked to go with the pork chop (I know you can also pick a mushroom sauce but I don't recall if there was a 3rd sauce you can choose from or not). Portion wise, this is more than enough for one person since you are getting 2 pork chops. This is actually one of my mom's favorite dishes to order when she goes to any Hong Kong style cafes too. ----------------------------------- (Total= $34.23 after tax, prior to tip) Service was minimal. I spoke both Cantonese and English (well actually my husband spoke English and I spoke in Cantonese. I am just trying to make myself speak Cantonese more) so you shouldn't really have a problem ordering here. I really like the food and I am glad this place does open late. And it was pretty busy as time progressed while we were here. We also saw a few large groups come in and the staff moving quickly to put tables together to accommodate these big groups. Overall, we had a positive dining experience and would come back.

I've been here before, but today (7/29) was by far my worst experience. I was seated at approximately 10:15 AM, but for more than 20 minutes, no staff member came by to ask if I was ready to order. During that time, I saw staff members cleaning the table next to me on the left and being attentive to the table on my right, while no one checked on me. With breakfast service nearing its end, I finally had to flag down a staff member for assistance, and I was told to wait. My order was eventually taken at 10:55 AM -- more than 30 minutes after I was seated. What made the experience even more frustrating was that right after my order was taken, the table next to me was cleaned and a new guest was seated. A staff member approached her almost immediately to take her order. I left feeling overlooked and neglected. The way I was treated compared with the guests around me was extremely disappointing and made me feel as though I was being disregarded. I've been here before and had a better experience, which is why today's service was especially disappointing. I hope management will take this feedback seriously and ensure that all guests receive the same level of attentiveness and respect.
