Good Sandwiches Today, I went to the 'NY Slicers Deli' for lunch. NY Slicers offers a variety of great sandwiches, soups, and daily specials, at very reasonable prices. On this visit I ordered the Triple Threat (Ham, turkey, salami, mayo, oil, vinegar, lettuce and tomato) and my lunch companion had the grilled cheese. The sandwiches at NY Skicers are huge and very filling. Our sandwiches were delicious, the grilled cheese was cooked just right and the bread on both sandwiches was very fresh. I hate giving them 3 stars but I have a good reason. The first time I went there, I ordered 2 breakfast burritos with pastrami. They were amazing. 5 stars all the way. Loaded with pastrami and the rest of the burrito was delicious as well. The salsa was great and the service was pretty good. This last time I went, I ordered 5 burritos for the my in-laws, wife and I. After bragging these things up, we get them home and start eating and I am not exaggerating at all, there was approximately, 1-2 ounces of pastrami per burrito. They were loaded with potatoes and that was about all. I was extremely disappointed in the quality and lack of constancy. So in closing, I would recommend going there but I would also recommend checking your food before leaving to make sure it is what you ordered. I am hoping this was a one time mistake. I found this gem by searching nearby by restaurants on the freeway. Right as we walked in we were greeted by all the staff. The owner/ manager went above and beyond. She asked us if we liked our meals. She also knew a lot of people's names and orders. The food was very fresh. There are excellent bread and cheese selections. You also can turn any sandwich into a lettuce wrap which I loved. The French fries came out hot and had good seasoning. The coleslaw was just ok. I enjoyed the seasonal fruit which was sweet watermelon. After our family finished our sandwiches the owner/manager called us over to give us three freshly baked cookies for our car ride. I like the sandwiches, but they're hours are incorrect. 7/15/20 walked in at about 2:20 pm but was told they close at 2 pm now? I checked all the operating hours on yelp and Apple Maps, they all say 3pm. Also, no update on the door stating their new operating hours. I got the breakfast burrito, grilled cheese and fries. All were above average in taste. The burrito had good flavor and the salsa was a good compliment. The grilled cheese was very good too. There were a couple different cheeses in there and you better bite hard to cut through that cheese or it's stretching along with you from the sandwich to your mouth lol. Sadly I have never had an authentic east coast sandwich. As much as they like to brag and talk up there meat creations I had to give this place a shot. It was a bit out of the way but totally worth the trip. I order the corned beef rueben. It comes on rye bread, slices of swiss and topped with Russian dressing and sauerkraut. Divine tangy combination, throw in some coleslaw and an order of hot salty fries, it was an amazing birthday lunch. Even got some free tasty brownies. In short amazing place, delicious food, good prices, perfect sized sandwiches, kind and welcoming people, I don't have enough good things to say about this place. NY Slicers Deli is unique in that they DO NOT SERVE PORK products. Therefore Turkey and the many variations of Turkey are well represented in many of their sandwiches. Expect multiple variations of Turkey including smoked, baked, glazed honey coated, and peppered turkey as well as Turkey Pepperoni, and Turkey Ham. They DO NOT have real bacon but instead Beef Bacon. If you are looking for a Turkey Sandwich, this place is certainly the place to go with PLENTY of Turkey choices. If you are looking for a traditional NY style Italian sandwich you should look elsewhere. Ditto if you don't like turkey! With that unusual disclaimer out of the way, my experience with this restaurant is generally good except for the lack of traditional deli meats. I visited the establishment shortly after the lunch rush on a Monday afternoon. As one who has no love for anything related to turkey, it was a challenge to find something to my liking. I was surprised to find that they could not even prepare a plain old ham and Swiss cheese sandwich unless I wanted Turkey Ham, which I did not. I ended up with a "Build Your Own" sandwich consisting of Beef Salami and Swiss Cheese with mustard on sourdough, and all the veggies, except for avocado. $9.00 for the sandwich and with a bag of chips and a cup of water, I was looking at a bit over $11.00. I received a generous size sandwich neatly wrapped in paper and served with a small cup of macaroni salad. The bread was a thick sliced artisan type bread with a good flavor but certainly not a San Francisco type sourdough taste. The sandwich was generously stacked with salami and plenty of fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions. The sandwich tasted good and fresh and nearly large enough to share. Sadly, the faux sourdough combined with bland Beef Salami rates 4 stars in my book. Real sourdough and real Italian Salami and I would rate 5 stars without hesitation. The service was fast and friendly but slightly less friendly for a moment when I inquired about the unusual selection of meats. Might be a sensitive topic. I would give 3 stars for the meat selections, 4 stars for the service and cleanliness of the restaurant and 4 stars for the sandwich itself and presentation. I will start by saying that this is number three on my list of pastrami sandwich joints behind 2 pretty heavy hitters. I enjoyed the pastrami sandwich I bought for lunch and it hit the spot for what I was craving, but it made me yearn for my Miracle Mile Deli! Just Boar's Head meat here, nothing spectacular. The price was quite high for deli meat that could be bought at your local Fry's grocery store. I got the Rachel, a pastrami sandwich on rye. The bread looked like marble rye but I did not catch the real rye flavor at all which was a disappointment. The french frys came in a big boat which was nice, but uneccessary. Decent little sandwich shop on the west side, probably won't go here on my lunch break again because of the price and definitely won't be going out of my way to go here. read more

Best Pastrami I've ever had! They have really mastered the art of NY deli food and brought it to Arizona!!! I love supporting local and small businesses was pleased to find out that not only is Slicers a family owned small business it is owned and operated by women, sisters to be exact! Very awesome and empowering! I came to eat here after being recommended by a friend of mine, they told me about these amazing sandwiches that I needed to try. The place was busy with a strong lunch crowd, which in my opinion, is a really great sign that there is great food here. So I didn't mind standing in line to wait through the regular cadence, I was helped very quickly and my sandwich was made to perfection. The food was seriously sooo good, I knew I had to go back for more. 2nd time I went I had the Duchess, and the Cilantro Salad. (You must try a hot and a cold slicer to get the full NY experience.) The duchess was amazing, the aioli was a perfect touch and the meat, veggies are all super fresh and crisp. You can tell they go out of their way to use other high quality ingredients especially since all their meat is Boar's head. Will be back 100%. *They've also have really great Covid restrictions in place, such as masks, dividers, and social distancing. I've been here several times and raved About it to friends and family. I always had fast, friendly service and the food was really really good! Whenever I'm in that part of town I make it to Slicers Deli for lunch. I was disappointed by my last visit. I ordered the Ruben. l had the ruben in the passed. It was great. This time I was really surprised with the poor service and my sandwich was impossible to eat. The meat was cut the wrong way which made it like leather therefore a $10 and change sandwich went in the trash. I will give this place another try. I sure hope it was just a bad day and things are back to normal. read more

This place is the bomb! As soon as I walked in I was greeted. One tip, get there early for lunch as they get extremely busy. They proudly serve boars head, which is one of my favorites. Today, being my first time, I ordered the Cal chicken and it's awesome. Grilled chicken, caramelized onion, avocado aoli, warmed in a soft, sub roll, with lettuce and tomato- delicious! It comes with a side of cole slaw, that was a bit to dry and needed more sauce, at a reasonable price at $7.99. I grabbed a bag of chips to go with it, no drink, all in all lunch today was $10.31. I was impressed how the young lady in the front(possibly an owner?) greeted customers by name...looks like a big following of repeat customers they have, which again is why you need to get there early as they get busy(I was there @11:30).
