Very friendly staff; referred to many regulars by name. Sandwiches are more what I would call subs, rather than a deli sandwich. Order at counter and they call your name when it's ready. A woman was placing an office order when I got there (about 15 individual orders, all paid separately) which slowed down my order a little bit. The people at the counter were apologetic for the wait, as a small line built up. But it's riders were swiftly taken and the line shortly disappeared. Lots of carry out business. Sandwiches include a small side and I opted for the fruit cup for and extra $0.50. Actually it was 100% watermelon. But it was much better than the watermelon I had at the Hilton for breakfast. Excellent quality, volume and service. I wish I were more hungry when I stopped by with my husband. We shared a Ruben, fries and a soda. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for in this case. I don't even know where to begin with this little deli on the west side of the city. First-I feel so lucky to work near this place however, also unlucky for my waistline. My entire office loves this place! We order sandwiches and share them so everyone gets a different bite. My personal go-to is the Rachel, I never thought I would say that I love a sandwich...well I love this sandwich. I would be doing Slicers a disservice if I didn't mention their incredible staff-those ladies recognise everyone and even if they don't, they are very good about making everyone feel like a regular. Great new deli. A little far from where I live. Had to drive about 30 miles each way to check it out. The food was very well prepared with a very attentive friendly staff that is there to help you and serve your lunch and sandwich needs. 2 sisters are the owners and they are very proud of their business and it shows in the quality of their food, staff and restaurant. Will definitely be coming back out and trying some new items. I got their classic pastrami which is called the Rachel and comes on marble rye with coleslaw Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. Does NY Slicers have the best sandwich ever? If you're the owner's mom who's describing it, thanks for the plug mom, you may be the only one who thinks so. A more accurate description is it's probably the tiniest sandwich anyone has ever seen, completely ordinary, a sandwich like you might expect to find in an abandoned strip mall in an industrial complex near a freeway, which coincidentally this is. Or maybe at a gas station convenience store for two bucks. But it's not two bucks, its freakin NINE bucks, and that's before an overpriced fountain drink. And before the TWO dollar pickle. These people have obviously never been to New York and never been in a NY deli. I've never seen any true deli that doesn't include a pickle with a deli sandwich. I need to dwell on the microscopic sandwich size for emphasis, compared to any sub sandwich it's not a small, it's not a mini, it's more like a child's size. And it only comes in one size (I'm referring to the one pictured in my review, one of their featured sandwiches called Boss Lady). It comes with a tiny container of pre-made coleslaw, probably from Costco. There are three tables, a picnic bench and three tiny 2-seat tables along a dark dismal dungeon hallway to the bathroom, which was cleanish but not spotless and had the trash container turned upside-down so you are left holding your used paper towel with no place to dispose of it. The whole place is on the borderline of being too dirty to eat at but I don't that think it's a true health hazard. Deli's are known for having an attitude and usually for larger-than-life serving portions. They clearly fail on serving portion size and as far as attitude, it's not good, it's not bad, it's just some bored employees going through the motions, like you would find at most fast food chain restaurants. They gave me no reason to recommend it or try going back again. read more

In the past they were really good, but today I'm over Slicers. A grilled cheese sandwich, fries and a drink was $17. That wasn't the worst part, I ordered a grilled cheese, and I think they just toasted the bread and slapped it together and nuked it in the microwave to melt the rubbery cheese. It was chewy and disgusting. $3.49 for cold fries, yuck. Better off getting a grilled cheese at QT as they are actually good and toasty and they use butter on the bread to grill it. I threw it away. I was first to order the Cilantro Lime Salad and saw that the lady put my order in, they have a "regular customer" that came in and order the same thing, this is after 10 minutes waiting, guess what, they gave the salad that supposed to be mine to their "known customer". Supposes to be first come first serve, not regular customer serve first. **Its not a phone order that came before me, I heard it when the customer placed the order thru the cashier. Ok I'm a big sandwich girl, so I am very peculiar and picky when it comes to the type of meat and quality of ingredients in my sandwiches, and this restaurant completely catered to my every need. I was in town visiting relatives, though my journey to find the best sandwiches continued. I found NY Slicers Deli on my recommended search on Yelp, and I said "why not!" The pictures looked amazing, and I saw that service was amazing, which are two fantastic things to look for in a restaurant! The food, unbelievable!! They use Boar's Head meat, which is premium meat, and my absolute favorite. In each bite, you could taste the quality and the love that these employees put into their food. They have the sweetest and kindest staff. I'm all for supporting family-owned businesses that pride themselves in quality food and service. Surprised by the quality of sandwich I had today while having lunch with friends at NY Slicers Deli. I ordered the Rachel Sandwich which included rye bread with pastrami, cole slaw and 1000 island. Nothing negative to say about it. The taste was on point and very glad I ordered it. Staff were all friendly and the interior was clean. I considered four stars given I tried my friends Cali sandwich and he and I both were not super impressed but I allowed my sandwich to carry the five.
