When I needed a new roof, I got three estimates. Stuart's price was in the middle, and, mainly, I felt that he was trustworthy, so I chose him. Stuart was the best from beginning to end. He recommended a roof color that I would never have considered on my own, and he showed me how the color enhanced the trim on my house. It's the color I went with, and I am so glad he went the extra mile. The roof was completed in one day, and my neighbors were amazed at their efficiency, and the excellent job his men did in cleaning the whole area before they left. Hiring any home repair professional can cause anxiety: will I get a fair price? Will they do a good job? I will say unequivocally that my 2 experiences with Nyberg were the least-stress inducing, easiest repairs I've ever had. A few years ago, we had our bungalow's roof replaced. Everything about the experience was seamless. We received an estimate, they came at the appointed time, protected our plants, and the were finished before we knew it. This year we replaced the roof of our 4 car garage. I wish we would have had the money to have done it at the same time as our home roof for financial reasons, but we couldn't at that time. He even offered to replace some missing shingles from our garage with the leftovers from our roof project. The owner refused to replace leaf guards on small gutter job, even threw out the old ones so we couldn't do it ourselves! When we asked after the job was complete, he said it wasn't "built into the price". The owner should have better judgement and common sense to have known that this would be a concern for us especially since we are senior citizens... Stuart Nyberg has done roofing for us in the past. I discovered a water stain on an upstairs ceiling and despite being incredibly busy he came out to take a look and diagnosed a leaky chimney. He fit us in and took care of it within the next week, and the price was quite reasonable. Honest, reliable, reasonably priced, and a person with professional integrity. Highly recommended. Nyberg Roofing is an EXCELLENT company to do business with! Owner Stuart Nyberg showed up on time for job estimate appointment. VERY professionally dressed, spoken and knowledgeable! Keeps the customer aware of any changes and updates with the job. They also have an A+ rating with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). Gave the best price out of four other roofing companies that I took estimate/bids on through Angies List and the BBB. Owner pointed out several upgrades they were doing with aluminum flashing that I missed and no other roofing company's estimators pointed out, at NO addition cost. The other four companies were not even close to Nyberg Roofing's job estimate! The roofing crew started at around 8:00 a.m. and had there been more light that evening, they would have completed the three roof residential job. They were out around 8:30 a.m. the next morning to complete the job in a couple of hours. The large crew of about 6 men did an EXCELLENT job and cleanup! These guys are tops. Had them out last year because our "new to us" (circa 1914) house had sprung a leak. They did some roof patching, put in a new cap over our furnace chimney, etc. They came right in on budget and were very reasonable. This past week, had them come by to take a look at some possible issues. No roof leak, just some condensation and Mr. Nyberg gave us some good advice on how to deal with it. We were scammed by this company. I paid for a brand new roof, we had thousands of dollars in water damage from a gutter system installation and needed a new roof to fix the water problem. So we called Nyburg. I went through everything that happened with the gutter system and damage with Andy Nyberg, and they were contracted to install a new roof for us. I came home to a new roof and the same gutter system re-installed on top of our brand new roof. I called Andy Nyberg right away. They came out the next day and took it off- AND THEY CAULKED HOLES IN MY BRAND NEW ROOF THAT THEY CAUSED. I PAID FOR A NEW ROOF WITH CAULKED HOLES. I only found out about this because I called another roofing company (Peterson Roofing) to inspect the work. Below is the picture that Peterson Roofing took of my brand new roof with caulked holes. The water damage would happen in just a matter of time if we did not pay for additional repairs. We were blown away by the professionalism and efficiency of Stuart Nyberg and his team. We unexpectedly had to replace our entire roof six months into owning our first home, and were very intimidated by the process. Not only did Stuart make us comfortable right from the start, but he took the initiative to make our neighbors comfortable about the project as well. We got several quotes before deciding on Stuart, and one of the factors that swayed us was his assessment of the house. He took the time to look in front, in back, and even come inside and look at the interior of the roof from the attic. He gave us an estimate for the job, and was upfront with any other potential costs that could arise along the way if something unexpected was uncovered. Every other quote we had gotten, someone simply stopped by and took a quick look from the front and threw a (steeper) price at us. Had an excellent experience with Stuart and the crew that worked on our single-family home. While the entire process wasn't perfect, I am giving 5 Stars because Yes I would recommend them to a friend and Yes I would use them again. We have a two-part roof: the front is traditional shingle, the rear is low-pitch/ membrane or "flat". The flat area needed replacing as it appeared to be over 10 years old, there was puddling, and some flashing was pulling away from the structure. Nyberg gave us the third-lowest estimate of the four we received. I initially wanted to go with another company, call them "W"; when it came time for "W" to answer some specific questions about how the work is performed, their recommended materials, and their techniques, they met with me for 5 minutes, stood up and said they would follow up the next day and left. The next day came and I didn't hear from them, no text or call back. Basically, "W" flaked. When I called Nyberg, Stuart made an appointment and sat down with us for nearly half an hour, helping us understand how flat roofs function and how his crew does the work. He also worked with us on the pricing and scheduling. Stuart said they charged extra to replace plywood. When the old material was removed, we had a few damaged 1x6" boards, not plywood. These bad boards contributed directly to the puddling problem. They changed them out for new boards and we weren't charged anything extra. They also fixed a spot on the fascia that was coming loose, and removed an old broadcast antenna from the chimney that the previous owners had incorrectly installed. Overall they seemed to do a very good job for a reasonable cost. Again a big deciding factor was providing those few extra minutes of Q&A we had. read more

I am in the process of seeking quotes for some minor window work on two of the windows on my home. Doing some research on which companies I would like to reach out to in order to obtain a quote for their service; I ran across a review for Nyberg which had some really positive reviews and had a past of receiving some accreditation for their first class service. I can say that they have not lived up to their accolades and cannot even follow their own promises which were clearly stated on their website referring to the statement from their home page, "If we cannot handle a particular project, we will give you the name of a highly qualified individual who can. Call us and find out."; well, I've tried and found out that it does not live up to all the hype. After writing a detailed e-mail which included the work to be performed, pictures of the affected area, and specific deliverables. I received the following response from one of the owners "I'm sorry. We are not interested in window repairs."; even though it's stated on their site that they have a window and repair crew. But perhaps it was my own misinterpretation of their services. Nevertheless, I just wanted to commend you on your outstating customer service and I hope you didn't spend too much time composing that detailed reply to my e-mail. By the way you may want to invest in upgrading your website so it does not look like it came straight from the 90's. read more

Stuart is absolutely great. He came out first thing on a Saturday because it was the only time I had to get an estimate, walked around the roof checking all the concerns I had. Best of all, he was totally up front and honest with me. The issues we had needed little more than a couple lines of caulk run, which was easily within my capability. He even gave me a tube of the right caulk to use before leaving. If a contractor is both confident and honest enough to tell a customer that they don't need to hire him, imagine how they'll treat you when a serious issue comes up! Stuart Nyberg redid our roof in two steps - the rear porch roof, which was in worse condition than the rest, three years ago, and the remainder of the roof just recently. I recommend him without reservation for his reliability, honesty, and quality of work. For the recent job, I emailed him over a weekend. He called me first thing Monday morning, told me he would stop by in a few days to give me an estimate, and actually came by later that same day. He said it might be a month until they could start the job; they started the week after his first visit, and finished the job in four days. The crew was careful to protect neighboring houses and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. The final bill contained a rebate which Stuart said was due to the job being a little simpler than he had thought. I see a complaint below about noise and job duration. Roof replacement is a big job and noise is going to be part of the process. That said, I worked at home through the four day job and managed reasonably well. Given that a roof's lifetime should be twenty years or more, I really don't care whether it takes one day or four, as long as the job is done properly, which it was in this case. I only wish that every contractor made construction projects as hassle-free as Stuart does! read more

Stuart did our roof 15 years ago. It was a 'tear-off' and I can say that they did a top rate job. I had a a couple of issues almost 10 years later and Stuart was out to fix it within a day's time. Nyberg is in the process of redoing our roof right now. I think they're doing a fine job and were the lowest of the 3 quotes we received. However they are SO slow. Our neighborhood is about 20 yrs old so many neighbors have redone their roofs lately. Everyone I talked to seen had their roof replaced in 1 day. I was just told there was no way they'd finish today and they'd be back tomorrow - that'll be day 3! I'm at home on bedrest so I can't leave, and 3 days of constant banging and having a headache may be more than I can handle. Again, I'm sure the work is well done, but I'm pretty sure they could do just as a good of a job on a faster timetable. My neighbors aren't appreciating the long timeline either. read more

In May 2018, we hired Nyberg Exteriors to fix our roof after we had issues with ice damming and resulting interior water damage. (They had not done the original roof work.) We hired Nyberg and paid them $8,600 to fix the roof. Once that was done, we had a different contractor fix the interior drywall damage. We thought all was well and felt that they were professional and honest. I would have given them a 5-star review at that point. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when the snow melted. We had water pouring through our walls and ceilings, just as it had done prior to Nyberg fixing our roof. It destroyed all of the repair internal repair work we had completed and ruined our ceilings in two room. We contacted Nyberg Exteriors as they provided a 1yr warranty on their work. We foolishly thought they would honor their warranty and fix our roof, plus pay for the resulting interior damage. We wanted to give them an opportunity to make it right. Boy, were we wrong in thinking that they would do anything to honor their obligations. They refused to take responsibility for the damage, saying it had nothing to do with their work and was an act of God. Give me a break - this is the *precise* thing we paid you $8,600 to fix and you didn't fix it! We gave them yet another chance to do the right thing here and they still refuse. Turns out they sub-contracted out the work and won't stand by any of it, even though they cashed our check. Please beware of this business - they are not the honest, decent humans they hold themselves out to be. Quite sad, really. read more

However, they seemed far more knowledgeable, profession, thorough and trustworthy than the cheapest two quotes and we didn't want to take any chances on such a big project. I'm glad we didn't! They did a fantastic job, worked very quickly, and were professional throughout. We had a complete tear off roof and new gutters put on so it was a big job and there were no hiccups or miscalculations at all (which is what we started to think would happen with the cheaper companies after they changed their minds and quotes on us a few times).
