Came here around 10:30pm on a Saturday. Yelp shows they close at 11pm, but I checked with the worker and they said they're actually open until 2am. First time here. I tried the Philly cheesesteak and the pastrami sandwich. They have seating inside and outside. Parking isn't the best, but I was able to find street parking. I drove about 30 minutes to try them out. Prices are decent, and I'd say it's worth trying if you're nearby or looking for a decent sandwich or burger during the late hours.

I really enjoyed the #1 chop cheese combo. I did want onion rings instead of fries with the meal, but the cashier charged me full price for the onion rings. If i known i would of just kept the fries. I thought onion rings was a swap for the fries? Meal ended up coming to $25 dollars from the listed $13.99 due to that with a can soda. Their self-serve soda machine has been out of order forever it seems from other pictures. Chop cheese with vermont cheddar is the way to go on the #1 combo. The onion ring was cooked nice and crispy and not in old cooking grease. Meal came with ranch and their special green sauce. The place is very clean. They have a couple of TV's but they were not on. I would expect them to have TV's working during the knicks game. They have tables inside and outside. They been open for about a year now and have a big menu of food from, breakfast sandwiches, chicken strips and burgers. I would come back again. Food rating: #1 Combo Chop Cheese sandwich 8.8\10 Onion rings 8.0\10

I absolutely LOVED both my 10" NYC Chopped Cheese and 10" Philly Cheesesteak! Extremely delicious sandwiches. I split half of my sandwich with my wife and I shouldn't have eaten that second half but I simply could not say no. The service is super friendly and allows you time to look over the menu. The interior of the place is clean. Looking forward to coming back here and trying out another sandwich

Anytime something claims New York, New England or New Haven, I gotta at least try it!!! That's where I grew up. The spot is on the dark side of 4th and Cherry, I think it's in the old Perfumeland spot. The last spot before the ally going north on Cherry FOOD*** I order the staple "New York Chopped Cheese" It was pretty good, not amazing like a real NY chop. But I ate a whole 10 inch so you know! I give it a Long Beach 4 stars, it's definitely missing something, but it was still satisfying. If we were on the East Coast it would be 3 star SERVICE*** The employees working were really chill and nice people. They give a welcoming deli style vibe. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but like I said, it's on the dark side of 4th and Cherry, so watch out for zombies if you eat outside PARKING*** Street parking, they do have a small lot in the back through the ally, but good luck getting a spot there

Definitely has convenience store vibe with classic bags of chips and candy

When I found out about this place, I thought of two things. The first was that now I had a place so close to home and not 2000 miles away in New York City. The second is the hours that this place is open. Sometimes I tend to work late nights, I'm gonna have to aim more to be here right before it closes to get a chop cheese sandwich, because they are so freaking good!!! It can be in a tough place to park at, but you should be able to find somewhere to park and walk to this spot. It's worth it. It's a really clean place and surprisingly they've been there for a year, but despite the fact that I missed the year I'm glad this place is around and in my head now 24/7. I haven't had a chopped cheese sandwich in many months. So that is exactly what I was having for dinner. My partner had the smaller version and I went with the 10 inch. I successfully downed that thing. We ordered combos, so she got the fries, and I got the onion rings. We also ordered mozzarella sticks that were very good. I thought that marinara sauce that came with it was all right. The owner brought us out every condiment that was made, including a secret sauce that my partner seemed to enjoy. Getting back to the sandwiches, they had onions, lettuce, tomatoes with beef and cheese. The bread reminded me of having a torta. The one thing that could match this place with the one back in New York is adding olive oil and vinegar to it. Don't give me wrong. I love it the way it was, but to see if it actually matched with the one back in New York, would be very interesting one day. I will definitely be coming back here more, and now I'm happy to know that I save a flight to New York and have chopped cheese sandwiches anytime I want.

I've lived around the corner from here and barely went for the first time and it was delicious. I got the chop cheese, my wife got the Philly cheese with no lettuce or tomato, fries, curly fries, and we won an order of onion rings by spinning the wheel at the cashier! Everything tasted really good, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

This spot is GOOD! I have never had or heard of chop cheese until my friend suggested this place to which I immediately began to look up what the food consisted of. I was pleasantly surprised! The bread to meat and cheese ratio was perfect. Not greasy, not too heavy or overwhelming. I really enjoyed the chop cheese! The service was impeccable. She was super nice and welcoming and very informative and willing to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend!

Oh another CHOPPED CHEESE in the area?! You know I had to check this out... Came on Monday afternoon, did my dose of cardio at the beach and didn't realize how close it was. The joint is pretty small, I wouldn't do a big crowd if your planning. Pictures look cool all around the walls. When I placed my order, I told the worker, I want a "chopped cheee". The way I alway say it if I was in New York. He gave me a look and said "huh? what did you say". I said hmmmm. Just a number 1 combo with jalapeño in it. 15 mins later, he brought it to my table, handed me a cup for my drink. When I took a bite, I noticed the bread was toasted. Meat had a different flavor from the others I taste. The fries crispy. To sum it all up, it was good but different. Comparisons is hard if you talking about NYC bodega, but hey try it yourself and you be the judge :)

First time trying it which is shocking due to how often I pass this location. Food was good I had the Philly cheesesteak without mayo and my gf has the crispy chicken with chipotle. Chicken has more of a crispy aspect than expected but was good. Fries were seasoned and went well with a side of chipotle. Liked my steak more than the chicken. They sell candy here and have that "New York bodega" look to them. Only complaint food took like 30 minutes due to online orders taking priority, parking on the street in the evening is near impossible unless you get lucky thankfully I walked, and the soda machine was broken so the combo my only option was a canned drink. Small critiques but the food was amazing and the staff was friendly and the place was clean. I'll be back for sure. If you do plan to dine in just note about parking, otherwise call in or order online for a quick grab and go

I love how many businesses are getting hip to the lil world that is Long Beach. It's LA County... but it's also, Long Beach, its own vibe and community. One of my favorite guilty pleasures is the recent chopped trend that's been occurring on social for the last year or so. As a vegetarian, I tend to do a lot of my cooking at home as it's ensures I know exactly what's in my food and I don't have to second guess if I'm not at a vegan / vegetarian restaurant. NYC Chop Cheese has came across my fed a few times over the last year, but I hadn't had a chance to go until March of this year. My friends and I were leaving the beach and decided to finally give it a try. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a very personable front house lady named Shawntail who walked us through the menu and kept the vibes just right. She even informed me that she person was plant-based and shared that they're looking to expand the options for those that are interested in plant-based eating. We love inclusivity. I got the beyond chopped cheese... when I say fire, I mean . It was full of flavor as it was but the condiments kicked it up a notch! It even held up next day as I ate the other half for lunch at work.

This lived up to the hype. They know how to make a good sandwich & not only that they had great customer service. I hella enjoyed the experience -- super nice, explained the whole menu, and really here to make the customer experience. Everything was made to order and felt fresh. The chef has been worked in NY, San Francisco and now Long Beach bringing chooped cheese to the people. Food: The NYC Chopped Cheese has flaaavuuur. Perfectly seasoned and delicious. I personally wasn't a fan of the lettuce since it does get all soft and mushy with the heat if you take it to go tho. The bread is the only part fo the sandwich that could be better but it's still good. They know how to make good curly fries so much so that I'd come back just for them. Ambiance: an ode to NY in every aspect of the design. Bright, welcoming. Seating inside & outside.

Great spot for sandwiches with super friendly service! They have a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating so it's definitely a dog friendly spot. I tried the chopped cheese sandwich and thought it was really tasty and filling. The meat is nicely seasoned, the sandwich comes with enough cheese for every bite and is moist. The sandwiches come with homemade ranch and cilantro sauces made by Chef Jason as well. The cilantro sauce poured over the sandwich is delicious. Highly recommend for lunch!

We came in on a Saturday and was unable to find street parking so as others advised, I had my friend watch the car and drive around as I made my way to the shop. The shop was so cute, it's small but with everything you'd need for a cheese and meat party including breads, canned additions/fish, and wines! I grabbed a fresh loaf of baguette to add to the order. Both trays were ready and absolutely fresh. The honorable cheesemongers overlooking shop were very nice and helpful! One female worker was providing samples for a gentleman when he asked for recommendations and my cheesemonger asked what kind of cheese texture I generally liked and offered to give me a cheese from three different animals, which I thought was absolutely awesome! She even offered to help me carry my trays out. The veggie tray was awesome, a great size, half pickled half not pickled, the dips were both amazing! We got the green goddess and Calabrian chili aioli and both were such a hit at our get together. The peppers are slightly spicy and were so delicious. We loved the variety of cheese and did not have a single cheese we didn't like. The petite toasts with the meat and cheese board is a must! So good and crispy and a perfect size for a bite. The trays were really sturdy and we appreciated the care put into the layout. We'll definitely be back Oh La Vache!

The sandwiches are premade, which makes it fast and easy, and sometimes they even sell out. The staff behind the counter were extremely friendly and we picked up two delightful sandwiches and were on our way. We couldn't be any happier with their delightful sandwiches. We sat in chairs outdoor outdoors on fourth Street and watch the world roll by. It was a delightful date with my wife. Many other couples were also witnessed, dropping in grabbing sandwiches and heading out. Put this spot in your popcorn, popper, and bubble up just right for you!

It's located in Bixby Knolls, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, bars and breweries, yet it's the only true wine bar right there. You will not regret it. The food menu has cheese boards, salads and sandwiches, and everything I've had here has been delicious. The cheese boards are better than sex.
