It was fine for breakfast. Service was slow but they were really busy and only had one waitress on a Saturday mid-morning (yikes!)... What happened? With all the glowing reviews we thought we were in for a treat visiting here for lunch. Did the ownership/management change? This restaurant is passable -- nothing was drastically wrong. But what a disappointment. I had their pastrami sandwich which had tough cheap pastami that must have come from the Walmart deli case. If this sandwich was inexpensive it would have been okay. My wife had two eggs, hash browns and biscuits. Although they were cooked correctly, they were the least expensive eggs possible. The hash browns were mushy and bland, and the biscuit was super dry and powdery. I tried a bite and needed some water to help wash it down. I don't think it would take much to upgrade the food to match the previous glowing reviews, but it wasn't evident during our visit. read more

I've wanted to try this place for the last few years. Finally did. Glad to see they were doing well, with all but one table inside and out filled. They do need more help, but the lady running ragged said no one seems to want to work. Ordered the crab melt on toasted sourdough with potato salad. Market price, which was $20. Had my order to go in about ten minutes. Worth every penny. Very generous with the Dungeness crab. The sandwich was heaven. Perfect. What more can I say. The potato salad was really fresh but under seasoned, nothing some salt and pepper couldn't cure. read more

Get the potato salad as a side, it was also top-notch. If you are really hungry, I suggest Katy's potatoes as a filling and delicious breakfast with fresh spinach, peppers, mushrooms, kalamata olives, roasted tomatoes and feta and pesto. Yummm! This establishment is a jewel on the Oregon Coast. The food is amazing. Everything is homemade by the restaurateurs Hector and Claudia. From the breads and biscuits, to the jam and even the hashbrowns, salsa and tortillas. Not only does this cafe have the best food we have found anywhere on the Oregon coast, the owners Hector and Claudia went above and beyond for us. Our Grandpa had just had surgery and wanted a BLT and all the places who offered this menu item were closed. Even though the Nye Beach Cafe was also closed, they were willing give of themselves to make our 88 year old Gpa what he wanted to eat. Thank you Hector and Claudia. Amazing food! So, glad we came. Gluten-free bread and pancakes available. I had the corned beef hash. The corn beef was delicious large chunks with perfectly cooked and seasoned potatoes. I couldn't even finish it and it made me feel bad because it tasted so good I wanted to keep eating it. The portions are so generous though, I could not finish. The gluten-free toast was nice big thick slices, and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. my husband had the mama's boy omelette come. Basically tasted like a breakfast pizza. Super delicious. Been here twice now. Great corned beef hash with nice chunks of tender, juicy meat. Very flavorful. Their slumgullian is great and very filling. It's of a mix of clam chowder with shrimp and (I think) mozzarella folded in and served with garlic bread. Excellent!!
