Slice special went up in price since last year. So, now it is close to 9 bucks for 2 slices and a drink?? I don't call that too special. I ended up with one veggie slice that set me back almost 5 bucks. I was working at Costco that week and they have a decent slice for 2 bucks and Barro's has $2 lunch specials as well. This is not a great deal anymore. The slice itself wasn't warmed up enough and was just average. Just got back from here. Kids eat free on Wednesdays and Sunday and there is currently a great groupon deal. Had to pay for kids meal because it can't be combined with the groupon. Still a great deal. Get on it! The pizza is awesome in person. Carry out won't do it justice unless you live super close. Fresh cheese, tasty sauce and crust. The meatballs are great on pizza, as is spinach. Pineapple is just okay. No fresh pineapple like they use at Nello's, just canned tidbits. The winner is truly the crust. It tastes so unique and they use imported water from NY in the dough! The large salad would be great for 2-4 people to share and more cost effective than individual side salads. The garlic knots are where it's at! Nom nom. Throw some Alfredo on those and you will be in carb heaven. Service is great and the atmosphere casual. Drink service and ordering was fast tonight but we had to wait quite a while for our garlic knot app(30 min). Please note that children's menu "pizza bites" are really a big 'ol slice of pizza that they cut into a few strips. Overall, our favorite pizza place in East Mesa/Gilbert. Con: Ordered through DoorDash and it took an hour and 37 minutes to get our food. The driver texted and said he was at the restaurant but had to wait for the pizza to be made. That was disappointing because the drivers time was being wasted and that impacts the money he makes. The DoorDash app said delivery was 43 minutes when I ordered so the time it took completely doubled. Waiting for a driver to get their first is unfair to them and the customer. Pro: I'm giving 5 stars because of the food and since I wasn't there, I feel it's fair. We ordered a large cheese pizza and garlic bread. The bread had amazing flavor but sadly it was overcooked so we didn't eat it. Again the flavor was great just too hard. On to the pizza, just order it. It's that good. It wasn't too thick, thank goodness. It had a nice crisp to it and reheated perfectly the next day. I'm from the east cost so it's hard finding NY pizza out here but this place is pretty darn close. My daughter devoured the Spaghetti and Meatball kid's meal, which we were happily surprised to find that kids eat free on Saturday. Some of our favorites are the margarita pizza, the garlic knots with their delicious marinara sauce, Brooklyn Family pizza, the Da Works and the New York cheesecake. They are VEGAN FRIENDLY!! *clap clap clap* We were seated immediately, got our drinks quickly, our order was taken and the waitress told us that our 8" pizza would take a little longer. It's nice to be welcomed with great service. I ordered the Veganizza (pizza with marinara, vegan cheese, basil, spinach and tomatoes) I ordered it without spinach because I knew my toddler wouldn't eat it with "salad" on it, lol. Then I ordered a kids spaghetti with marinara sauce and no butter/cheese. It was actually brought out earlier than the other dishes and that is awesome!! My son wasn't even finished with it actually before they brought the rest of the food! The portion size of the kids pasta tho was way too huge!! An adult could hardly eat it all so my two year old barely made a dent in it! My mom ordered an Asiago Caesar salad (note: she is not vegan). The food was delicious; we all agreed upon that. Kids eat free Wednesday's and Sundays after 4pm! Score!!!! And they had some other deals such as 50% off a second pizza on two days (I forgot them, tho lol). The decor is pizza-y and fun. I'm a huge fan of NYPD. I've been to 3 of the valley locations and they are all great. If you enjoy meat, but like a simpler pizza, try the Brooklyn Family. That's my personal favorite. It's pepperoni, sausage, and basil. This location, like the others, always has great service and friendly staff. My drinks were refilled, we didn't have to wait to get a table, and the food came out quickly. The only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars is the parking. It can be a nightmare. NYPD is an excellent small chain. Top notch pizza sauce flavor, excellent crust and lots of cheesy goodness. Their sausage topping is one of the best available anywhere. Their cheese knots are also very good. The pricing is higher than many NY styled pizzeria joints, but the consistency of flavor and excellent results each time keep me coming back. I've never come to NYPD and been disappointed in the taste or temperature of a pizza. I have not ventured out to try other items on their menu, so you are on your own if you veer away from the pizza pies. My favorite selection is the Brooklyn Family, which features pepperoni, sausage, and basil on a healthy bed of cheese. "Healthy" in that context is a euphemism for "a lot". :) Anyways, this location is usually without a wait and while the preparation of the pizza can take 25 minutes, having a garlic cheese knot order to wait is an excellent choice. read more

Came for dinner tonight...ordered takeout. We had the Vinny's special pizza, a Greek salad, and the uptown bone in wings. I will say it was "just okay"...I didn't love it, didn't hate it. The pizza was a little underdone for my preference, and also a little cold like it had sat for a while (again, takeout so this is the risk we run w that...and they were busy, a guy ahead of us came in to pick up 12 to-go pizzas so perhaps it was just prepared quickly?) The salad was pretty fresh and what I would expect, though I thought the balsamic dressing was pretty bland. The wings were good...we had the upstate flavor which is just buffalo traditional. Great service and a really nice house salad. They make their own ranch and balsamic vinaigrette. My pizza had a nice, crisp crust and generous toppings. I thought it was a little bland but not bad at all. When I was about 75% of the way done, I found a small piece of cardboard in my salad. I had gotten it to go, so I didn't bother to call. First time poster, long time NYPD Pizza customer. Food: Best wings! Kids Mac n Cheese - 7+ consecutive years my kids have given NYPD Pizza a 3-Star Michelin rating...they love it! Pizza - Still my favorite. Quattro Formagi toasted! Or Da' Works! or I could keep going...we've tried most of them. Staff knows us, once we walk in the door they will usually start our drinks order, kids order and sometimes even pizza order. Over the years the staff has been phenomenal and so caring. Paul, who is now at another location served us one day, he asked for my wife (She had undergone surgery that day) since it was just my two boys and I. When I talked to him about the situation he sympathized. He went on to serve our food and as always went above and beyond. Once I asked for the check, he let us know that it was on the house on behalf of him and the staff. It was moving. It has not been the first nor the last time they have been GREAT! This is why we don't go to other pizza places. We see the staff as part of our family. We've gotten to know them. Shared stories and all. If we feel our order has falls short, we simply talk to them and they make it right. We love you guys! read more

Great service and staff. Pizza came out quick, hot and baked to a golden crisp. Kenzie helped me navigate the menu; she was very courteous and patient. While I eating the slices, they asked if they could start the second part of my order that I was taking home. They didn't forget even with a staff change. That also was very quick. Thick meat on traditional wings and pasta was great, family really enjoyed it. Pizza was the NY style that makes you fold it. True to the establishment's name. Tonight was our first trip to NYPD Pizza and it was very enjoyable. My wife and I ordered a 14" pepperoni and artichoke heart pizza with hand tossed crust. We also went with cheesy garlic knots as an appetizer. The garlic knots were were a doughy texture with good flavor, served with marinara dipping sauce, and my wife absolutely loved them. The pizza had that New York floppy crust that you need to fold over to eat. The sauce was mildly seasoned with a strong tomato flavor, and the amount of cheese was generous, no need to pay for extra unless you're just cheese crazy. It looked and tasted very fresh, not at all greasy. The employees were very friendly, helpful, and quick. Despite the restaurant being almost full, we were in and out in just over 30 minutes. Our bill with 2 sodas and tax was $27, very reasonable for the amount of food we had. We enjoyed the food and laid back atmosphere and will be back again soon. read more
