Second visit for our family ~ this time bringing the college kid who is home for the week. Brisket was on point and absolutely generous helping. The pulled pork was beautifully seasoned and had a nice bark. And the turkey was (as always) delicious. We've dined in and picked up, and it's always excellent. This time one of the owners and the pit master were both there. Our oldest son told them it was better than Sugarfire, and we're big Sugarfire fans. Don't let the fact that this BBQ restaurant is located in a gas station fool you. This place is the real deal! My husband had the brisket and ribs with Mac and cheese and baked beans. I had the brisket with Mac and cheese and vinegar coleslaw. Our kids had cheese flatbreads (because of course, right?). The portions are good sized for the price and everything was amazing! The brisket was smoked just right with good moisture and good flavor without being overly smoky flavored. The kids kept stealing slices of my brisket. First off, the sauce is one of the best I've ever had. Sweet but smokey and out of this flavor that enhanced the already amazing ribs and brisket. Terrific smoked meat. I have tried the pulled pork, the ribs, the brisket and the pork tenderloin. All are good but the tenderloin is phenomenal. The vinegar slaw is a bit on the sweet side, but crisp and fresh. Be sure to have the loaded potato salad. It is stellar. There are 8 or 10 tables if you want to eat there. Tables are always clean and bussed. The people are friendly and attentive. You cannot go wrong here! read more

Meats have a strong smoke flavor, but also considerable rub with salt and black pepper. Burnt ends were charred and dry, as real ones are. Brisket is a bit dry. Ribs, turkey and pulled pork are tender. Cornbread has jalapeno pepper, as do the baked beans, which have a bit of mustard, red pepper and bacon. Coleslaw comes creamy or vinegary. French fries are medium thick. Soft drinks are Coke products. Might come back by myself for a daily special. A bit too much rub for her. Counter service was fine. Strictly casual, indoor and outdoor seating, with traffic from the gas station/ car wash. read more

Just stopped by for an early dinner. I was a little hesitant as the last two business to occupy this spot were average food and went out of business. Man, am I glad I stopped! I was on the go so I ordered the brisket sandwich which came with a side. The meat was moist and cooked to perfection, nice smoke rings, and the flavor was great. New barbeque joint in Chesterfield, MO, OB.Q's, located at Edison and Long Rd in what used to be a Schlotzky's. So far, I've tried their brisket sandwich, burnt ends flatbread, 1/2 smoked chicken, and pork ribs. Gotta say I'm impressed. Each has been a near-perfect cook, tender. Good smoke flavor on all. Ribs pull easily off the bone but don't fall off the bone (overcooked), and have a peppery dry rub. The burnt ends flatbread uses their sweet sauce (they only have two, sweet or spicy). Not particularly generous with the meat, but not inconsistent with your typical flatbread pizza. Not particularly impressed with their sides, but that has more to do with my personal preferences rather than any inherent shortcomings. For instance, I prefer beans to lean savory and not sweet. Theirs are on the sweet side, but not strongly so. They also have two slaws, vinegar or creamy, but no slaw is ever going to get my vote. What can I say, I'm a bad German who doesn't like anything based on cabbage, including sauerkraut. Bottom line, a nice addition to local barbecue and only four blocks from where I work, which is the best/worst thing of all. It's connected to a convenience store/gas station/carwash, so a variety of chips, sodas, beers, wines and liquors are readily available to add to your meal. read more

This is a new (3 month) casual barbecue restaurant associated with a gas station and car wash which does not sound very appealing, but it's not bad. It works. Seating inside is small, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Counter service for ordering. I went with my son and we will definitely go back. Doug had a half rack of ribs and they looked great. Very meaty and juicy. Baked beans and cornbread rounded that out. Thumbs up from him. I don't know why I ordered the burnt ends flat bread. It sounded good at the time but the meat was in very small pieces and didn't have much flavor. I ate about a third and gave the rest to my son. Crust was good. I'll go back and get something else to go as I don't live far. It's not that I didn't like the dish, just not my favorite. Their menu had meat plates with two sides, a good selection of sides. Or you can get a two meat combo. There were sandwiches available and meat by the pound. An easy way to feed a crowd without the usual pizza/deli sandwiches routine. We sampled ribs, beef brisket, and pulled pork. All were delicious. The coleslaw (creamy), baked beans, and fries were very good also. All food was very fresh when we went at lunchtime. Service was very quick. Our plates were ready by the time we had grabbed our drinks from the self serve fountain. Overall, a great meal and we will be back! The small dining area will be a problem once word gets out about the delicious food. Might plan on doing carry out. Hopefully, they will get their drive thru window open soon. A word of advice. Easily the best wings in Chesterfield, possibly the best in the entire city of St. Louis. The "Dirty Wings" are absolutely incredible. Loved the spicy BBQ sauce they had. Pretty fair pricing for a BBQ joint as well. Took 5 minutes to get our food and it was extremely hot. Great spot for carry out or a quick sit down bite. Not a place to hang out. 10/10 food read more
