This is my first time ever leaving a review on a business, I know the damage reviews can cause I hope this is more awareness for the management or ownership group. I was hosting a baby shower for my Daughter and Son in Law for 30-35 people on Sunday Morning everyone decided on BBQ I was looking at reviews about this establishment and wanted to patronize them. I put an online order in and kept getting stopped because it was saying that I couldn't put it in for the next day so we moved plans up and decided we would host a lil get together on Saturday and have something different on Sunday. We placed our order and around the time it was meant to be picked up we received a call from the restaurant stating that they didn't have a specific meat for our order when we tried to change it. The young lady informed us that they didn't have our 2nd option and that they were low on a lot of meats I understand it's BBQ but if your known for that and someone puts an order and it's a big inconvenience that you don't have it as I wanted to speak to a manager. She asked if I would like a gift card or refund and I really didn't want either because I had people coming over and lived an hour away from the restaurant so it was a huge let down that we couldn't get our order fulfilled. When I came inside I asked for the manager and the young lady just looked startled. A young man came to the front. I asked was he the manager or someone in charge he stated that he wasn't but he would get him I was becoming more enraged because it felt like nothing was going right with this experience at all. I proceeded to talk to Chris he first informed me that he was working on a catering order for a wedding that's what took him so long coming to the front but he asked if we could go out and sit in the booth and he would listen to everything I wanted to get off of my chest and he would of course try to come to a proper resolution. As I let everything out at him he took it all in and first started by apologizing for the entire situation. He stated that he had someone turn off online ordering so that the online orders were fulfilled and the restaurant would be short on meat because we paid ahead of time but throughout that process they became short. I also explained that I lived an hour away and moved plans up a day just to get bbq and it was a huge inconvenience that nothing had gone right with the experience. He then replied with since you originally wanted it for tomorrow morning we can fulfill that with fresh meat as soon as it comes off the pit and that he would throw in a extra 1/2 pound of meat that we missed on the order originally he call the pit master John and asked what times would the meat be done in the morning. He said between 8:00-9:00am. Chris asked if there was anyone that was able to pick it up. My son who lives 10 mins away was able to pick it up for me. Chris hung up the phone with John gave me a hug and said come in the morning everything will be hot fresh and ready with no errors because we will be the first order of the day and answered any questions I had afterwards. My son picked it up the following day and everyone enjoyed it. The task was tedious and a huge hassle but at the end of the day everything fell in order. The customer service could be a lot better with the front staff it's their job to handle customers and it wasn't until they got Chris took time out of working to look and apologize ask to sit down listening to everything and explaining why the problem happened and the process and procedure they use to make sure this doesn't happen and come with a resolution to the problem that I got clarification and satisfaction. read more

I was going to give this place a one star but because of the experience if I could go to 10 stars I would Myself, Wife, and 2 Children came in on Monday afternoon for lunch we ordered 2 orders of Wings (One Regular and one Dirty) for Me and My Wife to try With a 2 meat combo I don't know if the young lady at the register was tired, new to her job, or was just having a rough day she only put in for 1 order of wings and 2 different Meats that we didn't ask for as we sat down and got situated I could see that there was only one person in the kitchen that was making the orders and passing the orders out to customers and bringing them to tables as he brought our food out I noticed that it was all wrong the meats were incorrect and we only had one order of wings and the meats we originally ordered were incorrect I explained to him that we were in a hurry he explained that it was no problem he would prioritize our order and apologized for the mistake and the inconvenience he went to the back brought out cookies for our kids and brought us out a gift card to cover the cost of the wings for our next visit he made our food promptly and brought everything to our table he handled the situation accordingly his name is Chris I don't know if he's an Owner in Management but he has all the tools for both you can see that he cares about customers and his job I watched him make orders pass them out and go back to kitchen to start on the next customers order he went above and beyond to make our experience so enjoyable for me and my family Chris I want you to know you are a big reason why we will continue to patronize this restaurant the food was good but the experience gratitude grace and interaction with that young man was even better everyone makes mistakes but he didn't blame the young woman who took our order and sat down he owned it all himself took it upon himself to make our kids happy and myself and wife happy with gift cards for our next visit he didn't have to do any of it but the fact that he went that far out of his way on top of having to work and make our food in a timely manner by himself he's A1 and a person that holds establishments up and keeps them running and reputable I can't say thank you enough we will be coming again often and soon l!!! read more

I usually don't rate restaurants, but I must highlight this one. I was one of the pilots in the Spirit of St. Louis Airshow in Chesterfield, MO, and we stopped for lunch on Friday. We had prime rib, which was excellent. We were initially skeptical because, as we flew in, we asked about good BBQ places and received mixed reviews. After the show, we went to lunch in St. Louis and understood why the reviews varied--it's not as good as OB Ques. On Sunday, after our performance, we went to a gas station next to the restaurant we ate at and asked if OB Ques was still open. We were told to look for a man named Chris. After asking around, we finally found him. When we asked about closing time, he said he'd keep the place open for us. We explained we needed to change out of our aerial uniforms, shower, and come in one last time before leaving, not wanting to keep him late. He told us to take as long as needed and that he'd be there. Several hours after close, he returned and graciously offered us samples and even said he'd take care of our meal. Despite our attempts to pay, he covered everything. The food was as delicious as before, and Joe, who spoke with us, praised Chris and OB Ques. We want to personally thank Chris for his gratitude, hospitality, humility, and the excellent care he provided. Many people have thanked us for the great experience and service over the weekend, but I want to emphasize what was said to us: thank you, Chris, Joe, and OB Ques for the outstanding service, experience, food, and hospitality. Chris was exceptional on Sunday, staying late just for us, handling our bill and needs. Having traveled worldwide for shows, what he did was truly world-class--a memory we won't forget. Let me take a moment to spotlight this restaurant and an employee yesterday we had a pretty big order that we placed for a gathering we were having myself and my wife came in to pick our order up and when we arrived home we did see our entire order my wife called the restaurant out of frustration and disappointed but we spoke with a gentleman by the name of Chris who was completely unaware but yet understanding of the situation we were in he was very calm and professional with us reassuring that it could've been a mental error on his part owning up to potentially his mistake not yelling back at my wife or turning it into a he say she say ordeal and pleading with us if there was anything he could do to make sure the day and our event didn't turn into chaos my wife was yelling and screaming at him but not once did he yell back or be belligerent with us he stated that he bagged our bulk order separately and after looking in the car we found it we profusely apologized to him and he said no need to apologize I probably would've acted the same way but my choice of words would have been different lol he has amazing customer service is great with handling conflict and customers if he isn't in management your doing you're business a disservice he needs to be he's a keeper any restaurant would be better off having someone like him around thank you OBQues and Chris he showed professionalism and patience with us throughout the matter it was a long and stressful day and thanks to you all it was a success the food was delicious we will be regulars from here on out read more

This was my first time visiting this establishment and I hate to be this type of customer but I placed an order for pickup. I pull up to the restaurant and noticed that they have a Drive Thru which was perfect because I am a single mom and I had my special needs daughter in the car with me. I get to the window and I'm waiting for someone to respond to the window. So I can let them know I'm here to pick up my order I'm looking in the window and I see a young man sitting down on a stool at the counter on his phone not being attentive that there is a customer waiting to be served. I pull out my phone to call in and ask if the drive thru is open and let him know that I'm here to pick up an order. I see another young man in the kitchen area slicing meat who finishes his job then impromptu turns around notices me before the young man sitting down does takes his gloves off and comes to the window to ask if I am placing an order or picking up I informed him I'm picking up he goes to make my order then pass it out all the while the young man at the counter then comes and ask for my payment I then leave a tip but. I wish it was for the young man in kitchen wearing all black who acknowledged me, made my order, and passed it out to me while someone else can sit down take a payment and receive a tip. I hope it's split in store with staff if not that's totally unfair to the man doing multiple things while another does none the service was below par at this restaurant. read more

Stopped by OB Ques in Chesterfield, and yes...it's in a gas station. But before you clutch your pearls and drive off, relax...this place is cleaner than some sit-down restaurants I've been to. There's even a wall separating it from the gas station, so you're not eating brisket next to a rack of windshield wiper fluid. Now to the food. I ordered the burnt ends and brisket. Both leaned a little on the dry side not "Sahara desert," but definitely "maybe grab a drink" dry. That said, the flavor? Solid. You can tell they know what they're doing with seasoning and smoke. Sides held their own. The mac and cheese wasn't my personal favorite style (I'm more of a baked mac guy), but it was still good and creamy enough to keep me interested. The beans, though? Those tasted like they had a direct line to the smoke pit rich, smoky, and easily the standout side. Sauce game is strong here. You've got sweet and hot options, and both do exactly what sauce should do: complement the meat without hijacking the whole experience. Overall, OB Ques is a sneaky good BBQ spot hiding in plain sight. Don't let the gas station location fool you this is legit food with real flavor. There are drink refills and you can order your food at the service desk when you walk in. read more

Smells good, looks good, but STOP PUTTING HOT FOOD IN PLASTIC AND STYROFOAM! They could easily use the checkered plates they use for sides in house and a paper box for the meats. read more
