2 meat platter - Burnt ends & smoked habanero Turkey
    Keith J.

I love Texan BBQ since i grew up there and visit often so I'm glad I have a place to go for it at O'B Que's. I ordered a 2-meat platter with burnt ends that were phenomenal and the smoked habanero turkey that was moist and delicious and the spicy BBQ sauce adding a nice little zing. I was a little disappointed that the place didn't offer cornbread or Texas toast with the platter and I didn't think to ask until after I got my food. Sides were good and I thought the baked beans were very good but the Mac n Cheese was a little too cheese-whizzy for me and wasn't too crazy about it but will get potato salad next time. Also I'll try their brisket on the next visit l since that's my measure of truly great Texas style BBQ. It's kind of an odd setup for a restaurant since it's inside a service station but it's a really nice service station and the restaurants decor is pretty nice. I'd give it 4.5 stars if they allowed it, but will go with 5 stars for now.

I ordered takeout online for the first time- super easy process. The food was delicious. I got the half a rack of ribs with the sweet BBQ, thick, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The baked beans were yummy, the coleslaw was average, and the potato salad was yummy but not memorable. The downside was the staff. While I waited, they were eating and not very business place. I also tried the drive thru, but waited for about 10 minutes with no response, so I went inside. Great food, but the overall experience definitely could use some improvement.

The smoke really comes through, which I love! Solid bbq--enjoyed the brisket, smoked turkey and kicking chicken (except not spicy as advertised). Really cute little interior and service was friendly. Would definitely return while here

The Service dog was placed in a food coma by the brisket -- respect to the Chef!

On a cold rainy day, while stuck in a hotel, we were contemplating what to eat on our last day in Chesterfield. We were tired of the rain, tornados, and awful Conference we had been exposed to for 4 days. We wanted to go to a museum but couldn't determine where the flood zones were located so I'm we opted for the safety of the hotel. Then ... we got hungry! We needed food brought to our door! We had come to the STL and not had BBQ! It was shameful! We searched Yelp and found O'B. Que's. It was close and would deliver!! We ordered and hungrily waited! The food was delicious! We were sated, safe, and dry. We watched The Emoji Movie, and fed the Service dog strips of Brisket (which he enjoyed so much he fell into a food coma)! The only problem was ... We forgot our mission! We must have been waterlogged! We BOTH ordered catfish dinners! They were delicious but we STILL left STL without BBQ! Unless, you want to count the comatose dog eating the 2 oz of brisket! It sure did look good!!

While I was hesitant when I heard about a BBQ joint attached to a convenience store at a gas station, I'm glad I gave it try. I had the two meat plate, which came with a fountain drink and two sides. I went for the burnt ends, pulled pork, with potato salad and vinegar slaw. Burnt ends pretty good, good crust. Pulled pork a little on dry side, but good smoke and seasoning. Vinegar slaw excellent. The winner for me were the homemade sweet sauce and the spicy sauce - sweet sauce had a good amount of molasses; spicy sauce was vinegar based with the right amount of heat. Excellent prices. Excellent service - give them a try!

Hubby and I were craving some Bar-B-Que, and have been hearing nothing but good things about this place. We decided to venture to Chesterfield to give it a try. First impression, I almost passed up the building as it is connected to a gas station and a car wash, and the parking lot entrance is easy to miss, so I bypassed it and had to turn around. There's plenty of parking outside the building. Once you get inside, there are about 5 booths, and 2 high top tables. So there's limited seating inside. There are a few tables outside you can sit at during the warmer weather. You order your food at the counter and the menu is on the wall. It's a pretty straight forward menu, and no pricing is listed. The cashier was friendly and answered all the questions we had, the young man that brought our food out was polite and friendly as well. My husband and I decided to order two combos. I ordered two meats: Brisket and ribs with two sides Mac n cheese and baked beans. Hubby ordered three meats: Smoked turkey, brisket and ribs, with two sides: Mac n cheese and baked beans. We also ordered a small order of the dirty chicken. All the meats were delicious and Cooked to perfection. The ribs were tender and easily fell off the bone. The brisket was so tender, seasoned to perfection and not fatty or greasy. The brisket and ribs were my absolute favourite. I'm not a big turkey eater, but my husband said it was good. The mac n cheese and baked beans I did not like. The mac n cheese noodles seemed to be undercooked. They were still a little hard. They had a texture to them that I didn't like. There was too much cheese sauce and it lacked in flavour. The baked beans had a vinegar taste to them and needed more seasoning. Overall, I would definitely come back because the bar-b-que was delicious. It's a must try!

Came here early afternoon for lunch. It's small inside and attached to a gas station. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is up on a board and you order at the register. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately they didn't have the menu item I wanted available which was a bummer. We ordered the brisket sandwich with coleslaw, burnt ends flat bread, and the wings with Mac & cheese. I just wasn't a fan of the food. The Mac was tasteless noodles way overdone, brisket had nice color on it but again the flavor was missing. The flatbread was almost like a cracker and also lacked the flavor you'd expect from bbq. With the variety of options we had and the pretty good reviews we saw I was hoping something would justify us going back but I just can't.

Came here by a recommendation and I it was pretty good! The service was really nice. The inside was spacious and plenty of seats. The lady up front helped me pick out the popular items. The wings were tender but kinda over seasoned. The ribs were really good and tender. The sides I really didn't care to much for I thought they were okay. Rib tips were fire as well as that turkey sandwich. Both were tender and enjoyable! Oh and the cornbread was killer!

The staff is super helpful while still maintaining a high level of service. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a steakhouse. I prefer the tables around the bar, as it's always great people watching. The star of the show are their incredible meats! Whether you're getting a burger, fish, or steak - you can taste the quality in every bite. I like their filets but their "world famous" burger is not to be missed! One example - they update their extensive wine list on what seems to be a frequent basis. Another thing I appreciated was that the wait staff explains each special including the price. That is the way it should be. Don't the customer ask the price (esp if you are in business of customer service). When the hostess seated us she wished me happy birthday. The waitress also told me to save room for apple pie and their special cinnamon ice cream. What a nice treat! It was delicious. But then again everything was delicious. We had the smoked seafood appetizer- wow !!! Loved it. For my meal I got one of their seafood specials: grouper served with green beans and mashed potatoes. Fabulous! My husband loved his meatloaf. Personally I would prefer a PBJ sandwich over meatloaf but hey, his meal. I hadn't noticed previously that they have 2 bars. They are back to back. One can sit at bar for dining too. A benefit of sitting at a table is the ability to talk freely because tables are well spaced with substantial dividers between them.

All though, we may have scarred our poor server; I believe his name was Riley, for life. We came in on July 5th. After having celebrated an 80th birthday on Friday and a 250th on Saturday, we needed food. Poor Riley, jokingly asked my cousin if we all managed to keep out fingers. To which my cousin; having lost a finger to a table saw years ago, held up his hand and showed the server he was missing a digit. The young man's face was priceless. He excused himself to compose himself. He was such a good sport and came back and said he had, "put in his two weeks notice". Young man, if you read this, our family had a blast. The food was tremendous and every staff member that helped out was just as impressive as the previous one. Highly recommend GIO.
