Very bad, and they lie. I am an absentee owner of a cabin in the running springs area. several months ago. i hired this firm to replace two angle stops and a leak in the shower wall, and replace a water heater burner which i had to find and purchase because they did not to take the extra time to find one. The reason i hired them to begin with is because they said they could fix the leak without putting a hole in the drywall on the other side of the bath to get to the leak. The work was finished according to them, and i paid them by check once they called me saying the work was done. Being out of the area, i took their word for it. Anyway, the cabin was vacant, and has been vacant since then, and they knew this up front. the cabin was sold a week or so ago, but they backed out, because there was some minor issues found during the inspection,. and a major issue, the exact same water leak in the shower wall. When i called them yesterday to inform them, they went on the defense right away, and basically said too bad, wen can send out someone to look it, but it would be a $225 service call, but they would have the plumber that did the work call me, which he did this morning. Very bad experience with the call. same old line, been too long, and it is too bad. But, i did find out they did not fix the leak in the wall, instead, they rebuilt the shower faucet, which i did not authorize. i was very specific when i called them about the problem the leak was in the wall, and if they had a more modern way to fix the leak, other than put holes in the wall in the kitchen side, and possibly remove cabinets. they said yes. i have no reason to lie, this is the honest truth. So, i paid them $1,000, almost has much as the other bid i got, to do the complete job, for changing two angle stops, rebuild a faucet, and replace a burner, which i paid for. Nice work if you can get it. i would not recommend them to anyone if they were the last plumbers on earth!!! read more

I needed to have a pipe replaced on the outside of our house up in Crestline and the only time I could get up there is on Saturday. The nice lady said we do not give estimates on weekends and would not make an appointment for me. She didn't know that I really didn't care how much is was going to cost, I just wanted it replaced. Needless to say I looked for another company and they are meeting me this Saturday. They have done other work for us and we were happy with that. For people that have a job during the week and this is not your primary home.... Good Luck on getting and estimate. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. I had Robert and Tristin come to my home on Monday for an estimate. The job I asked them to do was no problem for them and got a 9 o'clock appointment for Wednesday and had a 4 hour window locked in for the amount of work that needed to be done. They both came at 930 and then left at 940. They would not do the job because they didn't want to be in the other contractors way. I asked them to maybe go and do another job and come back to mine once the contractors left. He sort of had attitude because he said the other calls were in Crestline and it was not ideal to come back down to Running Springs but he would make it work. I called the office at 11 to let them know the other people left and so the gal said she would left Tristin know. I then called back at 345 to see if he was still going to come back out today and she told me he had said no but she will have him call me. Once he called he proceeded to tell my husband that he was now over booked and could not come out until next Wednesday. Not sure how he could have gotten over booked when I was to be a four hour job ... and he said he would come back! This remind you was an appointment that was booked a week in advance and the day before Thanksgiving. I would never recommend this company read more

This morning at 5:30 (Sunday) l called O'Brien plumbing when my water heater started leaking like crazy, they came out and temporarily stopped the leaking water heater. I'll be getting a new one installed in the next couple of hours. This is not the first time O'brien plumbers have come to rescue us during the night or on a weekend. Came out fairly quickly, looked over my problem. Very nice gentleman very knowledgeable. Discussed some of my options and then never ever got back to me the next day as they promised for an estimate. Called, nobody responded to my call, called again nobody came back with an estimate what a pathetic joke. So not only wasted my time with them wasted my time waiting for them and then had to sit with our problem for additional days because we had to start over with somebody else. read more

I've tried 3 plumbers up on the mountain. It's been so frustrating to get a plumber who knows what he's doing and has the technology to diagnose before doing any work on the house. After hundreds of dollars wasted and problems continually occurring, Tristan and his assistant FINALLY fixed the problem. Don't even waste your time with other plumbers. They are nice, but they won't get the job done like Tristan and O'Brien did. I'm sad I didn't find them earlier, but I'm also so glad I now have an honest and MORE-THAN-CAPABLE plumber I can trust and know will get the job done! read more

O'Brien was recommended by our water company and came out immediately. They were quick and fixed the problem at a reasonable rate. Terrible customer service! First they forgot to schedule a plumber until I called back. Then waited 3 WEEKS until the plumber returned to fix the sink. He said the parts order was lost in shipment, but they never called to tell us. After calling back every day for 2 weeks and being told the plumber would be back the next day, we gave up. The customer service woman finally called a week later and asked if we still needed a plumber. read more

I woke thanksgiving morning with no hot water. My water heater pilot wouldn't stay lit. Even on the day after thanksgiving, someone from O'Brien plumbing came out. They wrote down which parts I needed to order, cause the parts were under warranty. I received the parts Tuesday early afternoon. I called and they sent someone over within an hour. The men were professional and friendly. They went right to work and I now have hot water. The lady who took my several calls was so courteous and understanding. She did exactly what she said she would. Great company - I would highly recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. read more

What an awesome company - family owned and run - just love them. They bend over backwards to help out. Last year during the Christmas holidays we had a pipe burst and they were on the spot, quick as a wink. Repaired our pipe and we were back to our Christmas celebration without a hitch. Some may complain about the cost but when you got an emergency like ours you're willing to pay almost anything (almost). Tristan and Rene were here on time (when they said they would be) and snaked my sewer back up in a professional manner explaining to me what they were doin the entire time. Called O'Brien's over New Years holiday weekend with a drain line stoppage. O'Brien's answered the phone, and were able to come out the same day. The technicians worked in the freezing weather and found roots in the line that they cut out. They gave us a more than reasonable bill considering it was a holiday weekend. Sure not a company I'd try to do business with again. Called them about 2;30 to 3;00 for service and was told they''d be here about 4;00. At 4;35 they still hadn't arrived, so I called back be- cause I have a disables diabetic husband and I needed to start dinner only to be told it would be 7;00 t0 7;30 before they could get there and there would an after hours fee. When I ask what the after hour fee was I was told $100. My husband and I are in our 70's and a $100 dollars could be the difference between eating this week. When I ask why they didn't call and let me know they had a problem, the woman in the office said "Sorry about that" making it to late to call another plumber, oh did I say it was Saturday and it was already costing more than a week day? So I'll now have to wait till Monday, with no use of my kitchen sink. read more

I worked for them, was a good crew. But a new helper came with tristan (not a bad plumber). But Ruben, decides to send a text to my 15 year old daughter, he's 21. Saying he has feelings for her. We intervened before a year ago with this guy and now he can't be professional and just do his job. Keep this creeper out of your house. This company is great. I always use them for all my plumbing repairs. I've had them replace faucets and even some shower cartridges. The staff is wonderful to deal with from the office, to the actual plumbers. They are very knowledgeable and professional. They arrive on time or will call you if running behind or even early. Considering doing some renovations in the future and they will definitely be doing the plumbing side of things for us. Another thing to note, is that they are one of the few companies that does 24 hour emergency service on the mountain. This is HUGE. Especially during the winter when pipes freeze and burst. They won't make you wait until normal hours to have your water back. read more
