I just asked a few electricians to quote me a price on ceiling fan replacement. They were the first to respond and maybe here's why. The problem was when I'd called them back to send them photos of the existing fan, to ensure that their suspiciously low "quote" was accurate, they were not interested in the least and what was not mentioned in their initial quotation response was that you pay them for a quotation firstly that is NON Refundable, prior to getting an actual quote for the job. They in turn would apply the first payment to their actual job cost amount which puts us the consumer in a corner because now they have pocketed more than half the cost of the actual job prior to you knowing what the total cost is! Makes one wonder if the owner of this company is ok with paying a non refundable deposit on a house before he negotiates the price. read more

I called O'Hagan Electric and had a laundry list of things I wanted looked at and done with my house. Stephen did a full inspection, made a note of everything I wanted done, and scheduled for an appointment to have it all done. He arrived on time the day that was scheduled, and got to work along with his assistant. He replaced GFCI plugs and switches, replaced a dangerous and old switch box, brought the kitchen electrics up to code, replaced a bathroom ceiling fan and light, fixed my doorbell, put up a new outdoor light, and installed an EV charger in my garage. Stephen and his crew did an amazing job upgrading our electrical panel. He organized all the sub contractors, dealt with the gas company to relocate our gas meter, hired a crew to do the trench work and was professional and communicative throughout the entire process that took about five months...yes, you'll have to have patience, inspection approvals from the city can take a while. OHagan electric upgraded our main electrical panel to a 225 amp Square D panel to do so they had to bring in new main wires from the front of the house and also move our gas meter. OHagan Electric organized all of the trenching and permits/inspection with the city and also electrical provider which was SDG&E. They also had good referrals for other trades including the plumbers. I just got my Tesla Wall Connector installed by Steven. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I have a Model 3 and the car's internal charger allows a maximum of 48A of charge current. So a 60A installation is sufficient. However I asked Steven to put in wires rated for 80A just in case I upgrade to a Model S or X in the future. He was able to accommodate. I highly recommend O'Hagan and would definitely use them in the future. Tip: When checking for the charge current after the Wall Connector installation, make sure that: 1. In my case the installation was in the morning and my battery was already charged up to the desired limit of 80%. I had to bump the limit to 90%. 2. This one is kind of obvious but push the "Start Charging " button on the charging screen. I have my charging schedule normally set to start at 10 pm. read more

The job was for a church where we wanted all the parking lot lights changed out to LED's along with several coutyard lights that were not functioning properly. I recently purchased a commercial office building for my business and needed to have all of the fluorescent lighting fixtures replaced with energy efficient LEDs. I also needed two 75" TVs to be mounted with wires concealed, along with fixing an outlet that wasn't working. I contacted O'Hagan Electric late Tuesday night and Steve replied back early Wednesday morning stating that he could stop by my office to give me an estimate. Steve came to the appointment on time and was very knowledgeable. I told him that I was under a time constraint and needed the work to be completed before Monday because I had another contractor coming in to do the flooring. This was a fairly large project involving over twenty five 2'x4' fluorescent lights to be replaced and 17 fluorescent canned lights to be replaced. Steve provided me with a reasonable quote and assured me that the project would be completed well within my time frame. He said that he'll do whatever it takes to meet my timeline and I really liked that. I moved forward with O'Hagan Electric and gave them a 10% deposit. The next day they arrived to start my project, they got most of the work done the first day (Thursday) and came back the following day (Friday) to finish the work. I was very pleased with the results and Steve was great to work with. Obviously with every project there are unforeseen issues, and Steve was great at problem solving on the fly.
