I contacted O'Hagen Electric via Yelp along with a few other electricians since my A/C was out and I needed someone to take a look after the HVAC tech could only do so much. Ben arrived towards the later part of the time window I was given but he was super nice and listened to the issue at hand. A/C condenser wasn't getting enough power to run so he had to check the electrical wiring to make sure there was power. He figured out that the power coming from the house to the A/C was compromised and recommended running a new line from the outside box to my A/C condenser. I was given pricing up front and we agreed to get it done same day. Outside wiring in common areas is an HOA issue so I authorized the work so that I could get reimbursed. I'm not sure the HOA will approve it but having A/C is better than not. The work was completed within 2 hours and my A/C is now running again. Thanks to Ben and O'Hagen Electric. read more

I had a very bad experience with Stephen H. I needed two electric outlets added to my bathrooms for bidets and they quoted me $10 through Yelp (attached picture). When I called them for more details the quote and they quoted me a very high price compared to other electricians. When I told him this he said it was just an estimate and needed more pictures. He asked if I was going to book with them I said no. He started raising his voice and barraged me. I got the job done with Johnny Electric, who gave me a great deal, two outlets for $250 and if I paid in cash he gave me a 10% discount. The two gentlemen that showed up to do the service were very nice and wore PPE and kept a social distance. This my third time having O'Hagan come do some work in my somewhat older townhome that I bought a little over two years ago. Last Friday around 5:30pm the power went out in my daughter's bedroom upstairs and also the adjoining hallway. I looked at the circuit box and it looked like one switch had flipped but would not stay in place when I tried to re-set it. I called O'Hagan the next morning (Saturday)...they answered the phone right away...and they offered to come the same day. Sunday actually worked better for us so we scheduled our appointment for then. Steve kept me informed by text on his anticipated arrival time and arrived well within the time slot window. It turns out we had met Steve on our last job when he installed three ceiling fan boxes and fans with Ben. I was very happy with their work, so was glad to see Steve again. Steve was able to find the problem and soon had our lights working again. I also showed him some other work I was interested in having done and he gave me an estimate right there on what he could do that same day. He replaced the plugs in my daughter's room with new and installed a whole new plug (socket) in my master closet. He also switched out an older GFCI plug in the half bath. We then discussed getting an estimate for some future work: get my garage fridge on a proper outlet that he will install, add a GFCI to a couple other locations, upgrade lighting in my downstairs coat closet that I want to turn into a pantry, and also upgrade the canned spotlights throughout the house that are not the same. He immediately sent me an estimate so I can plan for that. He even attached pictures to the receipt for work done and to the estimate for future work. One thing I always like about O'Hagan is that they are on time and efficient but also pause to patiently listen to me and my questions. I know what the end result is that I want but I'm not always sure how to get there. I consider us a team to get the best results that are within my budget. They are always neat and clean up the work area, and I find their work to be great quality I absolutely will continue to work with O'Hagan and highly recommend them. Unfortunately, it didn't happen to work for me and I lost $49. My review was based on the fact that I was not told about the additional $350 inspection charge when I initially called. I was told there would be a $49 charge (I assumed this included an inspection) and was told nothing about an inspection fee. The renter said the technician arrived flipped the switch that didn't work and called for approval on the $350 inspection fee. Fortunately, the renter of the property checked the breaker and found the switch was off. This entire thing would not have been an issue and avoided had the breaker been checked by the technician. read more

The stay at home order for Covid19 has us using more electricity, while working from home. I called O'Hagan Electric guys, to see if they can fix an electrical socket that I had blown due to over use of our microwave. They were quick to respond and very professional on the phone. O'Hagan Electric was recommended to me by a trusted source. They did such an outstanding job, and I am very happy with the work done. I needed a total of about 34 recessed ceiling lights throughout my residential home to be upgraded to newer LED lights, and a new light switch with dimmers. Some of the lights are on vaulted ceilings as well. Stephen and his staff are very professional, knowledgeable, & respectful. The service was great. They did a nice clean job as they had to cut into tile to tap into another outlet. Their communication on timing and arrival was fantastic, they don't make you wait at home for a 4 hr window. They set arrival times within an hour. Very professional. Courteous....they cover their shoes when they walk in the house too. The only reason for the 4 star (vs 5) is due their low-ball estimate given over the phone of $250 by scheduler. But when they arrived, the new estimate went up to $650. You may be the judge of that discrepancy. I explained the project over the phone in detail and sent them model number of bidet requiring electricity when appt was made. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I hired a well reviewed handyman in our area for a kitchen remodel, as I figured he would be able to tackle on both electrical and plumbing work for me. Had a faulty EV outlet (getting too hot, possibly a cheap grade outlet from prior owner). They wanted to charge $650 to install an entirely new outlet or $250 to troubleshoot alone. By comparison, three other 5-star reviewed electricians in the area quoted $225-$325 for new industrial grade outlet replacement. I'm sure they do good work, but make sure to get different quotes for the same services as that's far too high a spread to charge double. read more
