A lovely little ramen shop! The decor is super cute w all the little anime characters enjoying ramen I got the calamari app & the tonkatsu ramen spicy. I was a bit disappointed with the calamari. I looove calamari, but this wasn't it. It was perfectly shaped (that's always suspect, it was like you'd buy from the store) and overcooked. It was way too difficult to bite as it was way too chewy! However, the ramen was amaaaazing first of all, the portion was so huge, I ate some there & had enough for two lunches! It was super hot and fresh. My chashu piece was a little too fatty for my liking, but the wakame, yum, the bamboo shoots, yum, the noodles, yum, the spice level, A++++++, I can't complain at all. Wonderful Ramen and fast service! We were on our way home from Yosemite and decided to try this ramen shop when we stopped by Bakersfield. Overall, this is a solid ramen place! Located within 5 minutes from highway 99, this ramen shop is located in a strip mall with ample parking outside. The restaurant is about mid sized with 15 tables. We came at lunch and it was pretty full when we arrived. The staff cleaned up additional tables in the second sitting room and we were sitted within 5 minutes. The menu is pretty extensive with good selections of ramen, stir fried noodle and bento boxes. I ordered the agatashi tofu as appetizer and the veggie shiyou ramen as entree. The tofu could use more sauce but the veggie ramen was absolutely delicious. The noodles was very tender and the entree came with generous servings of veggie and tofu. As for service, our waiter was attentive and our food was delivered within 5 minutes of ordering. The ambiance felt laid back and the staff was very efficient. Highly recommend! read more

This place gets really busy and for good reason it's a nice and cozy location to chat with friends, family, or go on a date. We have had to wait anywhere from 30 min to 1 1/2 hour for a table here. Their food is delicious and the portion sizes are pretty big. I have absolutely no complaints, on both occasions I've visited the service has been really good and the servers are very attentive, constantly refilling drinks and making sure you are doing okay. I would say that the wait time for getting your food isn't too long either. So happy to have found such a nice ramen restaurant located in Bakersfield of all places. If I have a favorite ramen spot in Bako, it's O Ramen. On top of being very centrally located to my home and work, I never have had a bad experience here. The food is consistent, and I recently tried the garlic fried rice. It was so good!! The noodles are generally very chewy. I was getting the chashu ramen for awhile, but I don't think I like pork that much, so I switched over to the vegetable ramen. This is a great choice. Very filing and doesn't feel too heavy. The workers are very wonderful and always make me feel at home when I eat here. On top of the delicious food, the place itself is very cute. It's small and usually very busy. O ramen is a classic I will always look back to. read more

I ordered the ramen combo Kurobuta 'O Don. The pork was tender and the sweet glaze was flavorful and the fried rice was great too. The side salad had a light sweet dressing that i enjoyed. The ramen on the order hand... I ordered the spiciest ramen they had. I was disappointed how much pepper flakes it had. The broth itself wasn't spicy but there was so much pepper flakes in it. It wasn't very enjoyable in each sip. I thought I would be able to get passed the top layer of flakes but the noodles were covered in them too, even after I separated it from the broth (pictured). I got an extra serving of broth ($5). When I packed it up there was like a good 2-3 tablespoons of chili flakes just sitting on the bottom of the bowl. Personally, I expected the spice to be infused in the broth. I would have preferred ordering it regularly and adding chili oil to it. The other part of my meal was spot on. We have tried to come to this place two times and the wait has been just way too long. Today there was no wait we came in before 6:00pm. Inside of restaurant is nice and clean. Friendly staff and super fast service! We ordered : Calamari 2 orders - my husband and 12 year old son really enjoyed it. Ramen order- Tonkotsu- with pork belly. Broth has No heat and is Mild in spice. Tantanmen with pork belly. Broth has an amazing flavor - mild spice level is just perfect. Pork belly was super tender melt in your mouth like exquisite butter! We order extra pork belly- that good. Okay so this is the first and last time I listen to Bakersfield natives. You guys DO NOT KNOW RAMEN!!! If you're from LA you will be PISSED! This ramen was soooo nasty the flavor tasted like we were eating straight farm mud! I don't know how the heck this place got 4.3 stars but definitely will not be returning. Very delicious love the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. The waiters are quick and so is the kitchen cooks.

The ambience was super fun and had an energy that made it feel like we were not in Bakersfield. The service was quick once we got seated and they seemed to have a strong sense of teamwork. I got the vegetarian ramen with tofu and my daughter got the tantabmen (sp) pork ramen. We also started with edamame. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the portions were huge. I think we hit the jackpot by eating there. When we put our leftovers into the containers, they were filled to the brim! And we ate every single bit of edamame! Pretty good food here! The chashu ramen + small rice bowl combo is such a good deal and gives the option to have both noodles and rice. I had the pork belly rice, very fatty and delicious. Would not get it if you're sensitive to fatty food. Ramen noodles were good, texture was pretty similar to what I'm used to in other places I've been to. Soup was light and not super heavy. I have been coming to this establishment for years and have always experienced great food and service. Unfortunately, our last visit was far from what we are used to and the service was appalling. Our server, Sophie, was very rude and inattentive. We never got checked on, never got our drink order taken, and never got our utensils. We made it about halfway through our appetizers (eating with are hands) until my girlfriend finally got up and asked Sophie if she could just grab some. Sophie was rude and reluctantly brought them over almost as if it was a burden. We are both normally patient people due to both of us working in the food industry in our past but when multiple tables are walking out and shared the same annoyances as us something has to be said. In all honesty, for future visit if we see Sophie there we will not be dining at this establishment. The one highlight of our visit was a young gentleman who brought us are drinks and served us our food. This Ramen place is really good. I think this is me and my husband's new ramen spot. So far everything has been super yummy, I absolutely love that all their broths are very bold and seasoned well. I am yet to try the other ramen's, but so far I have tried one of their pan friend option and one of their ramen soup, both options including the appetizers have been delicious. I had tried another ramen spot here in town that I thought was amazing and after trying this place, I believe this place is way better and I may not even go back to the other spot... "guilty", the only thing that was a small disappointment to me was that when I ordered the ramen with fried rice and a salad, they served me a green salad when the menu showed "seaweed" salad. I love seaweed salad, so I was a bit disappointed with that. In any case, we all come for the ramen right? Not for the other stuff, so that definitely doesn't change my mind about this place. My husband has been really into the Tantanmen, super spicy and very flavorful, I like to change it up every time I come in so I know what I will truly love when I visit this place. I was craving ramen and found this spot on our way back to sacramento. It's such a cute establishment with tons of parking outside. The inside was decorated with anime characters that I recognized and loved. I ordered a tan tan men with a rice bowl with chicken teriyaki. It also came with a side salad drowned in dressing. They should put a little and just mix it a bit. Save cost for dressing. We also got a coke. The total came out to be $$26.52 before tips ($21+$3.50 for the coke). I made a mistake and got the spicy tan tan men. I guess I was too tired to realize that until it came out. My daughter had a few bites bc it was too spicy for her. We packed the rest home. I would highly recommend this spot. They are very generous with everything! Salad and ramen. Although my daughter can't eat it, I enjoyed the ramen bc it was a good amount of spicy. It wasn't the lingering spicy type. The veggie in the bowl was perfectly cooked. Sometimes people overcook the veggies and I hate that. The meat was great as well. The cut wasn't the cleanest. I had a few fatty pieces but to add favor in broth, you kind of needed that. I would definitely come back. Thank you servers and the chef! It was so good! My wife and I both ordered ramen - she had the Tonkotsu and I had the Tantanmen - and they both had strong fish undertones. I wish I would have seen the reviews that mentioned it before we went and dropped $60. The pork belly rice was amazing. I would return for that, but that was the only thing we enjoyed. The ramen was super tasty and it's a pretty good serving size. The wait was about 10-15 minutes. They have cut hours so make sure you check before you eat here if you decide to come in.
