My car wouldn't start on a Sunday while I was in Kaneohe, although my 5 year battery that was not even 3 years old yet was under warranty at Toyota, but they don't open on Sunday! plus i need to get to work Monday morning, My dad suggested I call Oreillys down the street and we jump started my car and drove straight there. They are right next door to the Kaneohe Safeway. A nice employee named Tony came out right away to test my car battery and concluded that indeed my car battery was dead, he helped me pick out a new battery, had the new battery installed, tested my alternator as well to make me feel more at ease and i was in and out of there in 15 minutes. Like wow, where else can you be in and out in 15 minutes to replace a car battery. They'll also walk to wherever your car is parked in the parking lot. Itʻs night. Super excited to have just bought our favorite ice cream to take home and enjoy. Get into our vehicle and she wonʻt start. Over and over again we try. Nothing.... In the meanwhile our ice cream is melting... THANKFULLY OʻReilly Auto Parts is nearby, like RIGHT NEXT to the Safeway where we purchased said ice cream. And they were still open!!! He walked me through the different options, helped me select the most reliable battery for my budget, and graciously answered all my dumb, pesky questions with incredible aloha. Following his suggestions and hints I was able to replace the battery, and turn in the dead one for recycling core credit within record time and with minutes to spare before sunset (nothing like racing against the waning afternoon winter sun) I've always done business here at least for the last 10 years and I'm always impressed with the quality of service. Initial impression was not very good. I needed wipers and know how to check for the size myself, but usually an employee asks if you need help. I couldn't decide which brand of wiper and was probably standing near the wipers for 20 min before the manager asked if I needed help. He was the only one working at the time and was helping someone else when I first walked in. He said he couldn't help install my wipers since he was the only one working, so I asked him when I could return to have my wipers installed and my battery checked. Later, Shawn checked my battery, starter and alternator. He also installed my wipers and was very nice. He also closed the hood of the car next to me after another employee walked away and was going to have the driver do it herself. Small kind help is noticeable too. Both early morning crew staff that assisted me on Wednesday and Thursday morning were so kind and patient. The female manager (which I read on her shirt, but forgot her name :( ) was sooooo nice, she suggested me the best heavy wiper blades available that they had for my Highlander and also installed them for me, despite the pouring rain! No one likes a dead car battery... but when the boyfriend leaves you with the car and the lights start to flicker before your long drive back to Laie... of course a little bit of panic will start to creep in. Luckily for me, on a pretty late evening, O'Reilly Auto Parts was one of the few shops around and within a reasonable distance from me that was still open. Shout out to Alexio for dealing with my not as knowledgeable in cars and slightly in a panic attitude. He was patient, kind, and super knowledgeable through my entire experience. I busted through the doors of O'Reillys at 8:30pm after working out. In a state of distress I immediately darted for the counter and asked Alexio what could be done if I suspected my car battery was going to die soon. Quick to help and lucky for me, he told me that they test car batteries at their store. I met him at my car where he assisted me with testing my car's battery before finding out that it was in fact, needed to be changed. He thoroughly explained my different options before installing my car's battery for me! I cannot express how truly grateful I am for his help! When it rained, I could barely see out my windshield, I know how silly but it occurred to me maybe the problem was not how dirty my windhsield was nor how much rain...so I walked into O'Reilly's and asked about windshield wipers. The friendly guy behind the counter asked a few questions and showed me 3 types I could choose, he suggested a brand he liked and used himself. I asked, how long will these last? He said, 6 months, 3 months for sure! Uh....what? 3months...6months? He looked at me, well, ma'am, it depends but these are really good so I usually change mine around every 6months...I mean, um, you can see yourself that they dont work anymore. I took the recommended ones and as he rang me up, I asked if it was evident how to change them out. He cheerfully said he could do it for me for free. As we walked out I said by way of apology, I didnt know because I never had to do it before, first my dad, then my husband, but now that I bought my.own car, it was time I did it myself. Great service!! Needed a new windshield wiper ASAP as our current one started tearing apart as we drove over the Pali in the rain. And while they do have an electronic pad thing customers can use to look up the replacement for their car it's always nice to be able to ask your questions to an actual worker sometimes. The guy was able to answer my questions about what was the difference between the different types and was able to exactly point out to us which one fit our car after I decided which one I wanted to go with. Luckily it stopped raining after we got out of the store so we were able to put it on in the parking lot. I called asking for a quote on windshield wipers for a 2016 Honda Civic. He asked if it was drivers and passengers and I answered yes. He quoted me $30. I asked if he knew if I needed to take my car to Honda or if any mechanic could fix the wiper as it was going past the glass onto the metal framing the windshield (this started after the windshield was replaced). He said I needed to take it to Honda and "have them reset the wiper arm to zero". Went into O'Reilly and the 2 wipers were $30 EACH not total as quoted. Also, my friend was able to turn the wiper to correct position with a ratchet wrench. I didn't have to take it to Honda and there's no "resetting to zero". My first experience with O'Reilly and it didn't leave a good impression. I could have bought these wipers for way less if I was just told the correct pricing. read more

Thank you, Bryan! He went above and beyond! I needed a jump to get there, and needed a battery ASAP. He found one in inventory and then helped me change it on the spot - which sounds easy, but this is the first time I have had to change the battery on my car. Clamps were completely corroded and stuck to the battery and the securing bolt was in the most inconvenient and difficult spot to get to (I wouldn't even have had the right tools to get to it). He somehow got that thing off, helped me clean the clamps and secured new one in place. All with a mask on too! So, so, so thankful! read more

Purchased an older trucks few months ago knowing I'm gonna have to do repairs. At first I went here just because it's close by my house. But after many many visits and repairs they always seem to have what I need or can get it very fast. Price is good for the most part compared to online and shopping to Hawaii. I was in desperate need of a new battery for my Scion xB, as my car would USUALLY but NOT ALWAYS start, causing me to cringe each time I tried to start my car. After calling a few places in Kaneohe that sell car batteries, I decided to buy the battery at O'Reilly because: 1) The price was competitive 2) They offered free installation (disclaimer - not on all cars) After choosing the battery that best fit my needs (i.e. the least expensive for now...), they popped out into the parking lot to efficiently install the new battery. After the quick installation, I started up my car and I was good to go! The helpful young man who installed the battery pointed out that my car was running a bit rough and vibrating quite a bit. He helpfully pointed out what he thought it could be and encouraged me to check on it sooner than later, for safety reasons. I've gone to the Kaneohe store for years and will continue to go there but yesterday when I was there I only saw two people working the registers and both were wearing there masks either on their chins or just covering their mouths. I went to O'Reillys Kaneohe today upset, because my car was having problems starting, and yesterday I put in a new battery. Still it was barely starting. So I left my car running in front of the store to run in and buy a new alternator. A super nice man named Scott , asked why I thought it was the alternator. I said what else could it be? He said it could be the starter. He said he would check for me. He brought out to my car a machine that measures power in alternator. My alternator was fine. It was my starter that was broken. I bought the starter and off I went to my son's and he installed the new starter for me. Lex Brodie wanted $600 to do it and it ended up costing me much less. My son probably would have installed the alternator and we'd be back where we started. Thank you so much Scott, today you were my Angel helper. Customer service was horrible. Attitude from the beginning. Clerk was Ian. Total jerk. He asked if I had the O'Reilly card and when I asked what that was his reply was, "if you don't know what it is, your don't have it. " I asked him what was it for and he let out a huff so I said if i did something wrong. I added if he didn't want to help, I'll wait for someone else. He said some thing under his breath and stormed off to the bank. I asked the next clerk for the manager's name. He said the manager was out but I could leave my name and number and he will call.
