We ordered the shrimp tempura roll and beef gyoza to start, and wow--both were so flavorful and perfectly prepared. The tempura was light and crispy, and the gyoza had that juicy, savory bite that makes you want to order another round immediately. And I have to call this out specifically: the garlic edamame was hands down the best we've ever had anywhere. Perfectly seasoned, fragrant, and completely addictive--we couldn't stop eating it. For the main event, we went with the spicy miso broth, and it did not disappoint. Rich, bold, and incredibly tasty--especially paired with the selection of meats. We also added ramen noodles, and they tasted unbelievably fresh, honestly like they were made in-house. Such a great touch and totally elevated the whole experience. FOOD the portion was fairly generous as none of us finished the veggie plate. Rice was good. The meat was fresh, very big pieces, though I wish they cut it a bit thinner which will improve texture. But overall no complaints. We came because of SGV passbook. The freebie we received was very generous. The edamame was a very big plate. Came by for some Shabu Shabu after seeing a show at the ice house. There was no wait around 8pm, and we were quickly seated for a table. Pretty traditional shabu shabu without all the frills of some of the other places like Jazz Cat. We got the Pork and Beef combo with just regular soup base. All tasted good and it was a quick meal. My only complaint is that it didn't seem like there was too much meat. If you are VERY hungry, you probably need to get the XL size. Service was fast, but the place did become pretty empty at 9pm. We came around 5:30pm and there were quite some people dining already. It does get crowded much later, so recommended to come early! Parking is very small and shared with other stores, so you're likely to do street parking around. At least street parking around here is very easy. We were seated and the service here is pretty friendly and also very efficient. They're extremely quick when they're setting up, laying out the food, and cleaning up the table. Everything goes by pretty quickly haha. We ordered just all konbu broth, 2 sets of rib eye and 2 sets of angus beef. Everything was pretty alright. The veggie bowl was pretty standard. I mainly had the angus beef and it was more on the tough side. It doesn't taste like high quality meat, so it's just very basic. The ribeye is a bit more fattier, but my dad did not seem to enjoy that one as much either haha. The ponzu sauce was fine, the sesame sauce however tasted more like mayo? I wish it was more stronger in sesame sauce. There's many non-Asian people dining here, so maybe the mayo is to cater for a more 'familiar' taste. It comes with your choice of soup for 2, your own protein choices and you can upgrade your meat to a larger amount for a few bucks more, then you get to pick from premium appetizers, you get a choice of beer, sake or soda and lastly you get an amazing dessert. For me I loved that monster tempura matcha ice cream. Everyone gets a bowl of veggies and udon. If you don't like the variety of veggies, just say cabbage and tofu only. My favorite broth is the sukiyaki broth and love how it comes with an optional raw egg for dipping your just cooked meats. Came to O'seyo and I don't know, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but it was just very average. I got the regular choice ribeye meal with the kombu broth. The vegetable bowl included a solid amount of napa cabbage, a slice of kabocha, king oyster mushrooms, broccoli, and udon. You'll also get a little dish of sesame sauce and ponzu. You also have the option of fortifying your sauce with pre minced garlic, daikon, or scallions. Overall, I felt like everything was tepid. I don't know if it was a lack of salt or if it was because some of the ingredients like the garlic, daikon, and scallions were prepped long before, but it was just missing a certain oomph that shabu often provides. The great reviews really got my hopes up, but my experience wasn't pleasant. I walked in at 9:15 pm and was told that they close at 9:30, I apologized and said I thought it was 10 based off of the website. The staff told me that they close early when it's slow. I didn't want to keep them, so I offered to come back another time; but they asked me to stay. I was rushed to order and didn't feel like they wanted me to be there. Again, I offered to come back another day and they reassured me that it was ok. I ordered the certified all natural angus beef, the konbu soap base and a side of fresh ramen. The beef was nice, good marbling but not too fatty. The udon was underwhelming and the portion was tiny. I ordered a side of ramen and a coke. The assorted veggies were decent but portions are tiny and the variety is lacking; It's mostly cabbage. The entire meal was bland and flavorless, even after the sauces and toppings. Staff wasn't friendly or welcoming at all. Not bad for the price but I've had much better shabu shabu nearby. Service wasnt great and I felt rushed. I ordered the choice rib eye with spicy miso broth and my mom ordered the Angus beef prime with kelp broth. The spicy miso broth was flavorful enough that it didn't require any extra flavor but the kelp broth is very light so it needs some dipping sauces. We also tried the beef tataki roll which was surprisingly very delicious albeit crumbly since it didn't have good structural integrity. I also enjoyed the agedashi tofu which was sweet and served warm. This a great place to visit with a small group or even solo since I saw a few people do that.
