World best fried Shrimp. Period. There is almost always a wait outside but it is worth it. Its not a super large restaurant but it flows pretty quickly. The restaurant is Cash only but they do have an ATM. There is also no alcohol/bar service, FYI. I have been coming here my whole life and can't ever skip a trip there for the Shrimp cravings on my St Augustine visits. You will not be disappointed. The staff is always attentive and friendly.

Good food and good service. To me, it was like a seafood diner experience. Stick to the fried shrimp and the sides are all pretty good. Service was great.

This is a diner fashion seafood restaurant that has been in business over 50 years. You check in outside and then they tell you to either enter or wait on a bench outside. We were promptly seating and the waitress was very quick to take our drink orders and then when she returned, she took our food orders. This is a very busy place. The ambiance was one of a diner. Everything was very neat and clean! We had fried shrimp with hush puppies and 2 sides each. The shrimp was the best shrimp we have had during this trip. It's lightly battered and fried to perfection. We were offered dessert but we were stuffed. I'll definitely be back!

Came here October 2025 for the fried shrimp. It was very good. It is fried in a light batter. Comes with a nice sauce and they also have their own hot sauce. The hush puppies were Delicious. The coleslaw was super creamy and full of flavor. I got a side of the peas They were okay but they were served only lukewarm. This place has pretty good prices and we got in fairly quickly around 7:00 p.m. on a Thursday night.

The BEST old Florida Time Machine with INCREDIBLE food and INCREDIBLE service! They don't need the reviews, but as a first timer - 10/10!!! The best shrimp I've ever had. Just perfect. Can't believe I waited so long to get here. I was worried about parking & it can be busy but they have their own parking lot & there are also some paid spots nearby. They will have a wait, but since there were just 2 of us we were able to get counter service pretty quickly!

The atmosphere hasn't changed in many years but the food taste wonderful. My boyfriend brought me here, and we had the fried shrimp and it was terrific as expected. There's a nine and a 12 shrimp order size. This is the best Shrimp I've had in the US yet -- I am from Ecuador. They have a lot of great sides like macaroni and cheese and coleslaw to go with it. They only accept cash but there is an ATM machine outside.

Unpopular opinion.... My family did not care for this restaurant. It was recommended to us more than once, including one local saying they had the best shrimp in Florida. We waited about 45 mins for a table, so we were hungry when we got seated. The food looked good, and the waitress was great. But once we started eating, I noticed no one was saying a word. Normally we would be saying oh wow, try this, this is so good, etc. my main issue was the texture of the fried shrimp was super firm. It seemed like someone took a piece of boiled shrimp and then fried it. It was just weird. Side dishes were just ok. The restaurant itself is quite dated, and to get to the restroom, you have to go outside. Plus, it is cash only, which is inconvenient. I don't not recommend this restaurant when so many others are available nearby.

Hey Y'all, Today, America's Independence Day and also Saturday on Anastasia Island, O'steen's business was rocking. At the window, we were told there would be a 15 minute wait, however it wasn't even 10 minutes, when we were called for a table. The Service was friendly and fast. The Ambience was cozy and decked out for the 250th Independence Day Celebration. Now, for the Food, I ordered the scallops and he ordered the fried shrimp which they are known for and we shared our plates. I thought it was really good and the cole slaw and hushpuppies were some of my favorites ever. You can expect normal crinkle fries if you order the fries. I will say that they have some very different sides of you want black-eye peas at a restaurant. They have them. They even have cottage cheese and peaches, if that's your jam. Two full meals for two with coke products, cost with tip around 75. We were too full for the desserts, but the pies that I saw made me wish that I had room for them, because they looked scrumptious. So far, one of my favorite meals at St Augustine's, in a very unassuming place. Those are usually the best. Check their website for their hours, days that they are closed/open, and for their merch.

Omg. Best fried shrimp in Florida. Must try and also try the pickled beets and cucumbers. Delicious deliciousness. Ambiance is cool but service is absolutely amazing. Great good affordable quality food

The best Shrimp you can get when you visit St Augustine, FL. The shrimp is melting in your mouth. Delicious and fresh. They also have a lots of fish and delicious side dish. The service is amazing. You have to bring CASH , they don't accept cards. They also closed on Monday and some days during the holiday. You need to check in their web before go. The restaurant is nice with a fire place and some cute Christmas decorations. This place is a must visit.

    Great daily socials- CASH ONLY

Delicious! Love the local hang out. Cash only, quick service, family atmosphere, local staple

Get 2 sides with meal, I got green beans and sparkled beans both were delicious!

9/4/25 It's always good to eat at Osteens! It's best to come early or late or be prepared to sit outside in the heat/cold (depends on season) until a table is cleared..lol. They have a variety on the menu but I think the preferred item is their fried shrimp which is my preferred! We got a bowl of Majorcan chowder and honestly, we were disappointed-the potatoes weren't cooked all the way, seasoning was off and very little clams. If it was like this regularly... we would not order it again but it hasn't so we'll assume a bad night for soup makers?!?

One of our favorite things to do in every new city is seek out the local favorites and discover our own go to restaurants. This time, we decided to give St. Augustine Fish Camp a try. Right away, we were impressed. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the waterfront views made for a great dining experience. We ordered the clam chowder, Spicy Seafood Linguini, and Shrimp & Grits. Unfortunately, I'd love to be able to rave about the food, but shortly after we finished eating, I became sick and dealt with an upset stomach for the rest of the night. My fiancé also didn't feel well afterward, although her symptoms were much milder. This was the first and only meal we'd eaten since earlier that afternoon, so we suspect it may have been related to something we ate, though we can't say that with absolute certainty. That said, one bad experience doesn't define a restaurant. The service and atmosphere were both excellent, and it's clear from the many positive reviews that plenty of people have had great meals here. We'll give St. Augustine Fish Camp another chance before we leave town, but next time we'll probably order different menu items. Thanks for reading, we hope our experience is helpful!

The food was incredible. I highly recommend the scallop toast (we ordered it a second time because it was so good!) and bread service for starter. The table really liked the empanadas, I was not a huge fan (but, I am from Miami so my empanada taste buds are different LOL). The Rockefeller Snapper was incredible. Huge piece of yellowtail and just an overall unique dish. The Scallop Cavatelli had to have been one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. It was rich and decadent. The table had some espresso martinis to end the night and I had a decaf French press coffee (I think he said French press). It was all delicious. Highly highly recommend.

Exceptional Service, Fresh Seafood, and a Perfect Waterfront Atmosphere…read more My wife and I had one of the best dining experiences we've ever had at The Boathouse in St Augustine. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the water, and the atmosphere alone was worth the visit. To make it even better, a sweet, friendly kitty joined us and rested at our feet while we ate. She was gentle, lovable, and happy to let us pet her, a perfect little addition to an already beautiful afternoon. From the moment we arrived, the staff was outstanding. The hostess seated us immediately, and our server, Tom, was exceptional. He kept our drinks full, checked in just enough without ever interrupting, and always kept an eye on our table as he walked by. His attention to detail was impressive. I ordered the stuffed grouper, and it was phenomenal! Clearly fresh, perfectly seasoned, white and flaky, with a decadent crab stuffing that set the dish apart. My wife had the shrimp skewer salad and loved every bite. The shrimp were fresh, tender, and prepared perfectly. During our meal, I mentioned to Tom that shrimp and grits is my traditional go‑to dish. Even though I didn't order it, Tom surprised us with a complimentary serving of shrimp and grits from Chef Mike! Let me tell you, it was easily the most unique and delicious shrimp and grits I've ever had. The dish included onions and a layer of perfectly seasoned collard greens beneath creamy, balanced grits and fresh, succulent shrimp. We added it to our meal and finished every bite. Just when we thought we couldn't eat another thing, Tom asked if we saved room for dessert. We hadn't; but when he told us about their locally made key lime pie, we had to try it. It was incredible: perfectly tart, perfectly sweet, the crust was amazing and the ideal size for two people to share. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. I strongly recommend The Boathouse; try the stuffed grouper, the shrimp and grits, or the shrimp skewer salad if you want something lighter. And whatever you do, save room for the best key lime pie you'll find anywhere in Florida.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it. Send everyone home with a free bag of ice -- at least then I'd feel like I paid for something I got to keep. Would go back for the food. Would think twice before ordering another cocktail.
