My husband and I enjoyed our food and the service was good. Menus are scanned with a QR code and the food came out quickly. I really enjoyed the spicy and garlicky edamame and the Bodega Bay roll. We didn't love the hamachi carpaccio but it was presented beautifully. There was a birthday party to our right and the tables were on top of each other so unfortunately I had trouble hearing my husband. I ordered four rolls from O Sushi tonight -- the Toto, Lion King, Baked Scallop, and Jack & Jill, and had a pretty good dinner. For four people, the four rolls and sides of miso soup were more than enough food. I thought the fish used in the rolls tasted pretty fresh, and I appreciate how quickly the food was prepared once I placed my order over the phone. The staff here seemed very nice when I arrived to pick-up my order. My only nit-pick comment about O Sushi is for the rolls that we ordered, I thought the rice was packed a little bit too tightly, making the rolls a little bit too dense for my liking. read more

The service was terrible. The staff was afraid of the owner & seemed to walk on eggshells. Apparently they couldn't make any accommodations to the menu. It was a terrible place to eat. Many restaurants in Novato and Petaluma have already been knocked off the options list by these two. O'Sushi May have ended our search. We all loved everything we received. Dad ordered a poke salad as an extra because he just wanted some poke. He knew it was a gamble being a "salad" but it was a pleasant surprise. Yummy pickles even pop up in there. Solid food, good experience. Changed a couple things around to fit my preferences, easily one of the better places I've had in the area. Chatted it up with the two chefs behind the counter, good banter. I had ordered the jalapeno bomb, veggie tempura, the alaska roll, and the out of control roll (both without crab). The jalapeno bomb was yummy but heavy I'd say. The veggie tempura was good for the price, I liked the dashi sauce that they had with it; had a good amount of flavor. I liked the out of control more than the alaska roll I'd say. The alaska had too much cucumber and kinda needed the crab to balance it out on that one. The out of control was well balanced and worked well with the asparagus that it had. I mostly got things without the crab meat since I feel it overruns the flavors of some fish and overall the roll but I can see that it is needed in some places xD Anyway, I'll certainly come by here again sometime especially since they're just a few blocks from Lagunitas haha. We have always enjoyed eating at O! Sushi. Today was our first time back since the pandemic. We had shots and booster and were masked up. Our lunch was just delicious. It was fun to go our again. Definitely the best sushi in the area. I went for dinner with some friends and we ordered the beef gyoza, chicken karaage, hamachi carpaccio, and I got the bento box. I have absolutely not complaints about the food and the bento box made it so much better. Good quality food and not outrageously priced. Only thing I will say is that the sashimi I ordered were really small. I mainly ate sushi dishes so I'm not as sure about the cooked foods, but they looked pretty delicious as well. To finish it off, the fried oreos were so good - doesn't seem like you could go wrong with that and they certainly didn't. Service was good but I felt like I was being rushed out of there because of how fast it was and how little attention the waiter gave us. I had very good expectations of O! from reading reviews on Yelp. I went to lunch first. The green tea was great. I was shocked that something simple like Sunomono salad with Tako unfamiliar. instead of thinly sliced cucumber in a vinegary sauce it was thick and only slightly vinegary. (but the octopus was very good) The ikura with quail egg tasted a little out of tune.. instead of fresh from the sea it was more like on the beach after the tide was out. And the "height" of the nigiri was such that it was a real challenge to bite into the egg and eat half the piece. I ended up eating half and wearing the other The service was very pleasant and knowlegeable but it was challenging to catch someone's attention -------- I had heard it was good so I went back for dinner a couple of days later. The green tea was great. I was surprised that with 3 people ordering the server didn't bring a pot.. I started with soft shell crab tempura. it was overcooked to the point you could consider it burned. I ordered maguro sashimi. It was nice. I ordered 5 pieces of nigiri: The ama ebi showed up as ebi. The ikura with quail egg came out as tobiko with quail egg. Maybe a language problem between me and the server? The replacement ama ebi came out as 3 pieces instead of 2. Yay! The heads were deep fried to a turn. Yay! The ama ebi itself was very nice. The replace ikura with quail egg came out with the same problem as the lunch one had. I was able to defend and eat more and wear less. the unagi came out over grilled the normally light sauce came out more like burned sauce at a bad bbq joint. The ono was not cooked and wonderful. The saba was ok. My wife and daughter ordered hamachi kama (over cooked) and bento boxes with veggie tempura that looked great but they said were quite dry. Net net? I think i may go back alone, eat at the sushi bar and focus on sashimi and also on ungrilled nigiri sushi and try ordering the seaweed salad and avoid servers or food that was deep fried or grilled. We got 3 rolls, Gyoza, Cucumber Salad, garlic edamame, miso soup, and the only thing that was tasty was the Miso Soup. The cucumber salad was soggy, the Gyoza felt like it had been sitting out for hours, the garlic edamame had a weird oranage sweet sauce, and the rolls were.... nearly uneducable. They were super goopy and didnt feel fresh at all. The entire flavor was taken over by the mayo/sauce. We paid $75 for it all, so not a bad price for the amount of food but the food is not good quality. I dont recommend this place at all. read more
