So this was an interesting restaurant: it's a small sushi place with a few tables and a bar, for a capacity of about 20 people. There seems to be 1-2 cooks and a server and that's it. We ended up waiting 10 minutes which was fair consider the size. Once we got in, the server sat us down at their largest table, which sat 5. We were a party of 3, which hopefully gives a better visual of how small the restaurant is. We ordered 3 bento boxes, one w/ beef teriyaki and ca roll; one w/ beef teriyaki and tempura, and another w/ chicken teriyaki and ca roll. The server was kind enough to give us a edamame appetizer for the wait, which was kind. They were slightly toasted and seasoned with sea salt, and made for a nice shareable. This is when things get interesting. The food arrived, and we began to eat. The beef teriyaki was Korean beef bulgogi. The taste was obvious, in how sweet the meat was marinated and the sesame flavor. It was good for bulgogi, however, not what I was expecting for a japanese restaurant. I had recognized the waitress speaking in Korean with the cook throughout dining, but it really registered after my first bite of the "beef teriyaki." The california roll was also interesting, in particular the taste of the seaweed. It too tasted like the sheets of seaweed specific to Korean manufacturers as opposed to the taste of typical japanese nori. It was off putting and not enjoyable; I ended up leaving 3 pieces of the 8 that came with the box. Overall, this place is not bad, but set the expectation that you are going to a Korean-Japanese fusion (heavy on Korean) restaurant with japanese aesthetic and inspired plates. *I would not come here for japanese food though.* read more

Unfortunately, our experience was very different from the rest of the rave reviews. Husband and I came with our 2yo son for what we thought would be a quick lunch. We arrived at 12:15pm. We waited quite a while for the server to come take our order, then waited some more for our water. After ordering, we waited about 30 minutes and still didn't have anything except water. Since it was already 12:50pm, we ended up needing to ask the server to not bother bringing any of it to the table and just pack it all to go, because we needed to leave by 1pm for a 1:15pm appt. We ordered two bento boxes - one with 4pc sushi and 5pc tempura, one with salmon teriyaki and California roll. The set comes with rice, miso soup, and salad. Pretty standard lunch fare. The kicker was that when we drove off and immediately started eating in the car, we realized that the salmon teriyaki was actually cold. What the heck? Otherwise, the food was ordinary. This restaurant is so cute! I came with my husband and my six year old son. My son ordered the chicken cutlet and he ate all of it! It came with little dumplings egg rolls a salad and miso soup. We also ordered the sushi sampler which was really good. I liked how they sprayed the octopus and shrimp with lemon juice. It was so fresh! Then, my husband ordered the sushi burrito which was really good too! We also got the baked salmon and it was really good too! The service was very attentive and the server was very nice. We also ordered the hot green tea and I loved the taste of roasted rice in it. The decor was adorable and was decorated for Christmas. I would definitely come back. Great portions and very fresh sashimi. Ordered from a delivery app and the food came perfectly. The sashimi salad comes with a lot of cuts of fish and each piece is pretty big. Definitely worth ordering. The salmon skin salad is pretty large as well with two delicious sauces. read more

I like spicy food and love the spiciness but because I have very very low tolerance of spicy food. I tend to not order anything that contains spicy tuna in this case. I guessed it paid off eventually for being a regular. lol I maybe bias about the waitress service because I know her personally and she deserves the highest respect and praise because she's great at what she does in person and over the phone. Wow what a great find. Basically hole in the wall cuz who would've imagined such a fine Japanese restaurant in this inconspicuous corner lot. Looks like the place is run by husband and wife. Husband in the back, wife in front of the house. There are about 4 tables that seat 4-5 each and 6 booths at the sushi bar. Hamburger steak was hands down my favorite of everything we had Close second is the side of spicy tuna on crispy rice that comes with any lunch special. Third most memorable item is the ocha. Hot tea is served with green tea and toasted rice. Adds so much depth! Fish was good (not the best but good). Fresh not fishy. Salad dressing is more shoyu style. Stop good but try not to get too much dressing. Beef teriyaki was very sweet, full of flavor, jerky-esq. Salmon teriyaki, I love salmon and I love when restaurants serve it with the skin so this was a big plus but fish was a bit over cooked so kinda hard. But when you got a well cooked piece, it was delicious. Price -it's not cheap nor is it expensive. It's right about the avg market price for this type of cuisine. We're talking post pandemic prices. 2 item bento were $19.99, lunch specials were all $16.99 Service was great! We got there 15 mins before opening not realizing they open at 11:30am. Chef was always in the kitchen prepping and he was happy to let us sit while they prepare to open. Lady was super cute and friendly. Tried this place recently since it is close by to the house and have a craving for some sushi. The pictures and reviews at Yelp looks great so drove there and got the Chirashi. Chirashi was great, fish is fresh and nice balance of rice and display. The only comment I have is to make the wasabi a little hotter. It would make the sushi and plates much better.
