This hidden gem is at tier 1 for sushi in Sonoma county. A very large roll selection and other items for non sushi eaters. The bento box is $12 for lunch and is by far the largest I have seen at any restaurant in town. On top of that it is the most reasonably priced with the most options. The staff are always very kind and professional. Service is fast and the rolls always come out perfect. This is probably because the owner and chef is the one always preparing the rolls. I had a friend visiting from Washington state who LOVES sushi and is also a chef, We were so impressed with his presentation that we took photos! I was so thrilled to find out he bought O!Sushi. The fish is always fresh, he has remodeled and has new serveware which I love. The presentation of the sushi or any other items you order is aesthetically pleasing and the staff is friendly and attentive. The location is a bit off the beaten path for Asian food but the menu is reasonably priced. I find I get better quality and fresher sushi at O!Sushi . Was in town for the weekend and hankering for some sushi. The high today was 100. This restaurant did not have air conditioning because apparently there was some dispute with their landlord. While the food was delicious, it was all a bit difficult to bear. The reason that the salmon nigiri sushi melted in my mouth like butter? Dunno if it was the quality of the sushi, or that literally everything in this restaurant was melting. Even the silverware. With air conditioning, this could be a little gem. It's tucked into a working class predominantly Hispanic neighborhood and everyone was really friendly and welcoming. The servers seemed Vietnamese, but their ethnicity had no impact on the quality of the restaurant. They were generous with the ice water, which was essential because otherwise I would not have been able to stand the heat, and would have gotten out of the kitchen while the iron was still hot. We absolutely love this place!!! Hands down best sushi in town especially for our family. We all know that sushi can get expensive. My husband can eat quite a bit. The chef Joseph knows us by name. The server Ratha is the best!!! She remembers everything. They made my husbands favorites for his birthday, even arranged it in the shape of 50 for him. We get take out from them on the weekly & for occasions. They have catered several gatherings for us. All our friends love their food too. If you're looking for sushi at an affordable price this it!! They also offer delivery for orders over $50 during this time. They attempted to have patio seating but some days are too hot and to be safe they are no longer doing that. They get busy so plan ahead & beware they are closed on Tuesdays. They often give us special sides for our little one. Many good drinks to take with you also. One of my favorite places to eat , and my favorite sushi places in general . The Apple roll is my go to roll along with the climax roll.

This casual hole-in-the-wall is located in a strip mall across from Jack in the Box at Dutton and Sebastopol Road, but it is testimony that you don't need to visit a white table cloth fancy restaurant for great food. The wait staff is knowledgeable and super friendly and the food is to die for. This is the best Japanese food I've had this side of Japan. I don't understand why lines aren't out the door, but when it is finally discovered you won't be able to get into the place. It is certainly the best Japanese restaurant in Sonoma County. read more

The fish was not fresh.. the salmon looked almost a grayish pink. Totally unappetizing. And to top it off it was WAY overpriced. Let's start with you need to try this place before you judge. It's a bit rough on the outside however the staff is super nice and easy to talk to. The reason we come here is for the fish of course! It's American sushi full of cream cheese and other bits that don't belong near raw fish but we find what we like in the sea menu items that I will never try. You just can't beat the price for what you get here. I will keep coming back to order the spicy sashimi salad, it's intense. I would try it regular non spicy first just to get your feet wet. My second visit here. First time was "okay" this time was great. Great change of pace for this area. Food was fresh and delicious.

We arrived on a warm Sunday evening. The restaurant had no air conditioning so it was super hot. They had the hostess as cashier, waitress, and clearing tables. She and all the cooks were sweaty. They were completely under staffed. We waited 45 minutes with everyone else for waitress to take our order. They never brought us water and it took 45 minutes for us just to get our menu. We felt sorry for the hostess lady who had to do everything. I am not sure if she is the owner but if not I hope they pay her well. She was running around doing it all. The hostess, was a sweet lady completely over worked. They are in desperate need of hiring more staff. They have a variety of beautiful sushi rolls and variety of sushi dishes. They have two large TV 's and music in background. I ordered the Lion King roll and it was tasty. It would have been better if they didn't stuff it with so much white rice and put more salmon and crab on it. It took way too long to have a positive outlook for this restaurant. We hope service drastically improves. We will come back to eat and give them a chance. This could be a great restaurant if they hired more staff and Landlord installed an air conditioning unit. read more

Sushi's decent but the owner's ego might kill you. Let me explain: The sushi is tasty, abundant and cheap. For these reasons I took my kids here after work tonight and ordered a lot...I was treating them to make good on a promise. My 11 year old didn't want the sushi so she ordered the chicken udon. Half-way through slurping her noodles down she tried the chicken and said it "tasted funny" and she didn't want to eat it. I didn't think more into it until I was waiting for the check; kids can be picky. I decided to try it myself, cuz I like udon...maybe would have it the next time. When I put the chicken into my mouth I could tell it was off, but when I bit into it it exploded with the taste of rotten checken...and I don't mean bad... I mean one day from reeking up the whole refriderator with stinking rot, chicken! I spit it out and took the bag of leftovers up to the counter and quietly got the server's attention. I said in a very low voice, "look, I'm going to pay the whole bill...that is not what this is about. And the sushi was really good. But the chicken in the udon has gone bad and you need to pull it before people get sick." The owner, a few feet away, walks up and loudly starts saying,"NO, NO, NO!" and then starts laughing at me in a very strange way, clearly to attract attention to the situation and as an intimidation tactic. He started waving his hands around, then turned and just walked away from me, while making eye contact with the other customers and gesturing as if to say, look at this crook trying to scam me! Meanwhile he just kept laughing really loudly in a bizarre way, while repeating "No, no, no!" emphatically. It was a trip. So...I leaned over and I said to the younger man, our waiter, "look, I just paid the bill...I am not saying this to get away with anything but I am concerned you have a health issue on your hands. Please just taste the chicken for yourself!" He looked really embarrassed and stayed stone silent. I told my kids to follow me out while the owner was still harumphing in the background. So, let's see...I paid $60 to be humiliated publically for trying to do the right thing, while this egomaniac seized the opportunity to treat his customers, two of them little kids, like panhandling deralects. Would I recommend this place? If insult to injury appeals to you--go for it. read more

I have been a customer for over a year, going to the Petaluma and Santa Rosa stores. The food is usually good. Not the best sushi, but definitely good. Tonight was my last visit to O or Lakeville sushi. I ordered a roll that I've had before. It has shrimp tempura inside the roll. The tempura in my roll tonight tasted like it was a few days old. In the past, the tempura is warm (like it was in the fryer sometime fairly recently) and somewhat crisp. Tonight it was disgusting-- cold mushy pancake with a foul taste. I told the server and asked for a much cheaper roll, saying I'd pay for the more expensive original, but it was inedible. He seemed shocked and then spoke with the owner/sushi chef. NO. "Sorry, you will have to pay for both rolls if you want it replaced." I have sent food back at a restaurant possibly 5 times in my entire life... I am not a picky complainer. This was really awful business. I even told him I've ordered the roll before and it isn't anything like it normally is. NO. Can't replace it. Wow. They don't seem to care about the customer at all. Especially since both stores are always grossly understaffed- customers have to wait a very long time to order when they are busy. The server runs around like a crazy person, totally annoyed. Anyways, I paid $20 for my salmon nigiri and one mangled roll, and left pretty pissed off. read more

In the taqueria central of Roseland you will find this awesome sushi spot. Very big selection to choose from on the menu. I ordered whats called kazimikaze that has uni nigiri sushi top with eel and quail egg. The poki salad was pretty awesome and the sushi rolls are huge. Hence the the name O sushi O meaning major big in the Japanese language. The only draw back is that there is no sake or wine yet. But the friendly staff makes up for it. read more

Not our fav sushi in Sonoma county but it was super reasonable for a neighborhood spot. They hooked us up with pineapple and some tempura oreos on the house. The fish seemed fresh enough and the rolls were good size. Hand rolls are only 3.50! The only caveats are: the spicy scallop was over chopped, the menu has too many choices and they don't have alcohol yet (2 months). Well, if they read the menu they would have realized they do! After each item is a u, s, or m. One is an unagi sauce, one a mustard sauce, one a spicy mayo. They're even color coded! The service was good, they were very helpful. They got our order right. They were very friendly. The good however was the best part. We ordered 3 rolls to share, 2 special, 1 small & it was plenty of food! Plus they gave us complementary miso soup & salads. Everything was super fresh. The worst part of the whole experience was having to pick what to get! Highly recommend it! Can't wait to go again! Love it! read more
