From the reviews I've seen at this place it looked really good. My gf loves Japanese food so we decided to check this place out. This review is based on our first and very last time we will ever eat here. Which was about 3-4 months ago. I thought I had entered my review last time I checked in here but I guess it didn't send through. I didn't really have a problem with the food but more on their service. So my experience here went something l this. I had ordered a tuna sashimi plate. All I wanted was tuna and rice and I'm guessing the server misheard what I said and when my food came it was something like a bento box that had a selection. I immediately told the server "this isn't what I ordered" he was kind enough to apologize and took my plate to switch it out. The server then explained to the chef that he had made a mistake and for about the next 3 minutes the chef just just went off on the server and cussing him out in Korean in front of everyone in the restaurant. Although there weren't too many people in the restaurant it was still awkward and embarrassing for me and my gf to hear him yell at him for a mistake. It was very unprofessional for the chef which who later I found out was the owner of the place. After all that was done, the kind and humiliated server came back apologizing telling me the chef DOES NOT want to remake my food. I was shocked and at first didn't understand what that even meant. He said, word for word "he doesn't want to make it, so you can either eat this or nothing" i didn't know how to respond to this and if I wasn't starving at the moment we would have left. I ended up eating just the sashimi which was 1/3 of the bento box because it's all I wanted. At the end of dinner he brought us the tab and charged us for everything, including the bento box I didn't order. The food seemed fine but just the whole experience is something I have never encountered in my life; and for that I will never come back here. read more

This is a worthwhile sushi experience. Some of the best sushi I have ever had, and so affordable i couldn't believe it. They were incredibly nice, and the rolls were all very different and incredible. Don't be fooled by the prices, those rolls are HUGE, and very filling. Another one bites the dust on my quest for good sushi in Santa Rosa! I'm really not sure how this place got so many stars... Y'all tricked us! We were hoping that the strip mall, funky smell, and old pizza parlor ambiance were just a cover for a really good hideaway. Not so much. From the miso to the pineapple, the food just had a funk. It even left a bad aftertaste that lingered long after the meal. And it wasn't cheap, either! Really disappointing, but I will say the server was pleasant enough. The food was so tasty! The portions were generous and the service was great! Our waitress was very friendly and the food presentation was nice! We all got tossed salad which was very crisp and fresh with a thousand island dressing that was the perfect flavor and miso soup. My daughter order the "sake" sushi roll which she loved and I ordered the bento which included a combination of agedashi tofu, teriyaki salmon and spicy tuna roll -so yummy! My other daughter ordered teriyaki salmon which came on a sizzling platter with three slices of salmon. The teriyaki sauce was really good - she ate all of it! My nephew ordered the chicken katsu which also was a generous portion and he finished it as well! read more

Craving a bit of sushi, I used my handy Yelp app to find my nearest hot spot. I am SO glad I found O! According to the sign out front it opened pretty recently which can be slightly scary in terms of consistently, but this visit did not disappoint! First off, the menu is huge. Unfortunately I didn't find any pepperfin, BBQ albacore or any of my usual staples, so I decided to try the red dragon roll with an order of Shu Mai since they couldn't steam their gyoza. The Shu Mai was hot, moist, and everything you'd expect from this dim sum dish. Highly recommended! The rolls all come with miso and a salad and are very reasonably priced! If I remember correctly my roll was between 11 and 12 dollars. That's a steal of a deal if you ask me! When they brought out my roll I just about fell over... This thing was HUGE! I'll post a picture to illustrate, but you definitely get more than you pay for! I asked myself how can this place make money with rolls this big and this cheap? I was very happy to find out that the food is just as delicious as it looks! The staff was very attentive and very interested in how I was enjoying my meal. It is always a good sign when the restaurant wants feedback from their patrons. All around I'm happy my Yelping found a fabulous place to satisfy my sushi craving! I wish I was local but I'm looking forward to returning in the future! Hopefully this hidden gem will still be around! read more

This place is awesome! I'm somewhat of a picky eater and I'm even less open minded about sushi. The food here was wonderful! The vegetable tempura was as good as anywhere else but the Rolls really put this place over the top! We had the S&C roll (really good for no rice), the jack & jill (just amazing), and the fried California roll (unbelievable!). The kind of good that MAKES you chew slower so you can appreciate the flavors all the more. Definitely coming back! read more

This is THE BEST sushi I've ever had! I order here on average once a week and I have never had fresher fish cut to a perfect thinness at an incredibly fair price. There are dozens of roll options and the service is fantastic. I have tried every other sushi place in West County and Santa Rosa, and this place is head and shoulders above them all. read more

went there last night and was super impressed. nice staff,clean and the rolls were very well put together, kinda artsy. lots of choices on menu, almost overwelming, but its nice to have a local sushi place that has a unique roll menu. the area is a little weird for a sushi spot but dont let that stop you from trying it out. hopefully they will last and maybe even thrive in this area just like sazon has down the street read more

I'll be back. I went there fir the first time today because they were close to a client of mine. Sushi on the West side!!!! Yay! The location has been many restaurants over the years, but I think this one may do well! The Chef/Owner, Billy, greets you in Japanese and everyone stands at attention! I was the first of the day I think. There was a bit of an slight odd smell when I first went in, but it soon dissipated. The menu is HUGE!!!! There are rolls I've never heard of! I can't wait to try the unique ones! I ordered 2 rolls to go, a Hamachi and an Unagi roll. 8 pieces each! Fresh fish and crispy cucumbers in one and scallions in the other. The rice on the rolls was a bit dryer than I've had before. Not sure if that's good or bad. The miso was OK, with very small cubes of Tofu in it, but a lot of them. I learned that they have another restaurant in Petaluma called Lakeville garden Sushi. I read the reviews and learned that if you eat in, you get a deep-fried oreo for desert! Seeing a sushi restaurant in Roseland was kind of a shock and honestly I didn't think I would ever go there. I took my son and we BOTH loved it and the prices are great. After we ordered our food we received a nice salad and a bowl of soup. Our sushi was delicious and when we were done with our meal we also received a pineapple boat. We will be going back! read more

This place is great. Who knew there was such good sushi in a strip mall? The waiter was adorable, food was good and they bring you fresh pineapple at the end of your meal. And don't leave without ordering the tempura Oreos! Minus one star for location and decor. read more

Everything was SO fresh. You could taste the freshness. We were almost gonna walk away when we first pulled up and saw it wasnt a nice restaurant type setting (we went for Father's Day), but a gentleman on his way out raved about how consistently delicious it is and told us to stay and try it. We ordered 3 "big" rolls and this giant seafood soup with noodles (had clams, muscles, shrimp, etc.) and we ate every last bite of everything. The #1 thing I like the most is that it's not just some crappy chain with crappy employees who don't care. The owner of the restaurant is the one behind the sushi bar making all the food, ensuring quality, and taking pride in the food he puts out. Our waiter's service was also on point. Was looking for somewhere to grab some good sushi and like always I relied on Yelp to lead me to the right place. Usually images look better than they actually are in person - after looking through O shushi's images on yelp I was handsdown convinced that this is where I would be enjoying my meal. I got the lion king roll and the volcano roll and they were both looked just as good as they tasted. The lion king roll was creamy and tasty just like it should be (the only negative was that I was not satisfied after one roll, I could have done with two). Moving on to the volcano roll however, this was also delicious. The seafood was fresh and the rolls were made above my satisfaction. The only reason I am giving this place one star short of five is because the area is somewhat sketchy! The service and food was impeccable however. Definitely stop by here if you feel like some good, relatively priced sushi read more
