We came here on St. Patrick's Day and it did not disappoint! The service was spectacular. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and lots of beer. The Irish music playing in the background was perfect. The Irish Nachos were to die for! I ordered some corn beef and cabbage dinners to go and they were great. Complete with potatoes and corned beef, carrots and cabbage and a roll!. Delicious. O'tooles is a very spacious bar that serves bar food. It seems that the only time I entertain going to O'tooles is when there's a meeting of friends or a group (AAA travel people) so food has not been super. Or maybe it was just what we ordered. We tried the irish nachos which were exactly what you would expect..chips topped with corned beef and what was once melted cheese drizzled with russian dressing. Was it the ambiant temp or it took too long to arrive at the table, but cheese did look like it had melted once. Friends all chose different dishes but could only see my end of the table...fish and chips and a salad were gotten at my end of table of 9 people. Fish and chips looked good. Chopped salad had too much blue cheese so all you could taste was the cheese (hard to believe). I like some cheese, but really didn't expect the whole thing to be blue cheese. More is not always better. There is plenty of parking, our waitress was very attentive, but noise keeps everyone from really carrying on much of a conversation. We came here because my sister wanted that chicken sandwich they just added to the menu so I'll start with that.....it was absolutely awful. It's covered in cheese powder like it says but it's like eating the powder from boxed Mac and cheese straight. It leave a film on your tongue, a mess all over your hands it's an absolute mess and it's lacking complex flavors. Needs an acid or a spice or something to cut from the thick heavy fake cheese taste. It's hard to describe but it's just awful. The fries were under salted and kind of soggy in both meals. The fish was good. It's pretty standard beer battered fish. The sizzling fajitas looked good and smelled amazing but the rice had an odd flavor. All together in the actual wrap it was good though. Waitress was really nice and fast. Went to meet some friends for a few drinks and some appetizers. The service was very good. Without asking she gave us separate checks. They had a special St. Patrick's Day menu included with their regular menu. Three of us ordered the Irish potato latkes. They were supposed to have corned beef and cheese in them. When served they were plain potato pancakes. No cheese or corned beef. I mentioned it to the waitress and the kitchen told her that the corned beef and cheese was mixed in. Since I wasn't happy with that answer I called over the manager. He could not have been more helpful. He even joked about how well hidden the ingredients were. He took the latkes off all of our bills. The Irish nachos looked fabulous!!! I wish I ordered those. I may be back tomorrow for Irish Nachos. I ordered take out for pick up at a certain time, gave about 2 hours notice incase they didnt have something or needed to contact me before I picked it up they could. I ordered the breakfast carbonara, french onion soup and the Bombaloni BLT (which i was told was a BLT basically on a donut). When i picked up the food and got it home, what i was given was nothing like what was described. The breakfast "carbonara" was in fact ziti noodles with red sauce, a piece of soggy toast, two strips of bacon and a egg just laying on top. NOTHING Carbonara about this dish. The BLT was on a stale hamburger bun and not on sweet bread or a donut. The french onion soup did not have any broth in it, just bread and cheese. Everything was completely disgusting. I like O'Toole's. The prices are good. For being in a restaurant in a plaza they have pretty good food. It's a large place so you don't have to wait for a table and the menu has a lot of choices. It's primarily typical pub fare but they have a few of their own creations. What I don't like is the service. And I think it falls on the kitchen. No matter how busy it is the food takes a while to come out. And it's not always consistent. The fries will be piping hot but the sandwich lukewarm. We came for brunch and were one of the first tables in the restaurant but the food was still slow and the home fries were room temp and had to be sent back. A retiree group that I'm a member of had a luncheon there on Thursday. While standing at the bar, before we went to our table, the barmaid was excellent. She attended to the needs of the group as it grew prior to sitting down. When the group was ready, we were escorted to the tables that were reserved for our group. For lunch I ordered a corned beef Reuben which came with a choice of fries or for an extra dollar you can get a salad or sweet potato fries. The sandwich was well stacked and the fries delicious! Mixed reviews had me apprehensive about this place. We decided to try it anyway ( party of 8). I have to say the food was good. One problem was that an entree didn't come out after the other 7 entrees had arrived. It finally came out and the manager comped the entree as well as bringing 3 free desserts for our inconvenience. Bacon may have been a very small single slice. Came with "smashed tater tots" that had tasted like they had been sitting in oil for hours, cold, and hard to the point it was hard to chew. Ordered a cord light, tasted kinda funny so I decided to look for the expiration date, it was two weeks old. Me and two other buddies ordered all burgers. The toppings were mixed up so the cook came out and just went to the back and switched the toppings around. The worst of it was they ran out of real burger patties, didn't tell us, was served, processed, slider patties. So instead of getting a juicy medium-rare burger as seen on their site, I got greasy dried mini meats. When I confronted the waitress, that the food was terrible and the meat patties was what I didn't expect, she told me that they ran out of their regular patties. She said if she knew she would of told us. Thus thinking as I left, I realized she knew because I asked her on the spot, and she was able to tell that information without asking anyone. The quality of the burgers was less than any fast food joint I've ever been to. Overall, terrible all around, don't think I can stomach coming back. read more

We have been regulars for a while now . Every week - tonight new workers at the bar . A girl who wouldn't make eye contact and a guy who told me to wait until the end to put my phone number (after he rings us out ) which doesn't make sense if you want to use the points towards the check. He gave me someone else's number / check . So let's address the food my chicken fajitas had burnt beans and rice and the other dish Bangers and mash had 3 sausages instead of the usual 4 and a shit load of mash potatoes and a side of vegetables (it's the same old squash) never a variety. Besides the bad service and the food being burnt I found a hair in my dish of the appetizer of Nachos. Really gross! read more

Great times at O'Tooles, good beer and decent food. A great hangout with many different folks. Many memories of this place from DJ's and dancing to bacon fest the past 7 years. Bartenders are usually very good and helpful with diferent beer selections and specials. There is a burger night which is one of my favorites. Wow! O'Toole's has been at this same plaza location (Kohl's Plaza) for over 15 years! Long before Kohl's was here, it was Builder's Square (in the 1990s before Home Depot & Lowe's era) and way before that (in the 1980s), it was the Mohawk Drive-In. FLY 92 (Todd Pettengill & The Wake Up Service) did a radio parody about the asbestos found at the Mohawk Drive-In to the "The Twist" by The Fat Boys, which went something like this, "They found asbestos, at the Mohawk Drive-In, they found asbestos...." I have to dig this out of my music vault, LOL! My buddy and I used have plenty of lunches and dinners here in the 1990s. I can recall in 1992, me and several other folks swarmed O'Toole's in the middle of a weekday afternoon and we all got free Mariah Carey tickets at Proctor's from FLY 92. Okay, after over 10 years, we had lunch here recently and not much has changed. The place has wood beams, decorated with classic signs and old license plates, fireplace, several TVs throughout the bar area and dining room. They have Quick Draw, scratch tickets, and a trivia console from each table. The menu is traditional American offering appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, beef poultry, seafood. desserts, and Pepsi products. They have a full bar menu with 16 beers on tap, over 40 bottled beers, wine list, and mixed drinks. We had sandwiches ($6.99 each) served with battered fries & pickle chips, which were out in under 15 minutes. The Chicken Parm Sandwich was pretty good and the Corned Beef Deli Sandwich on wheat (not toasted) had cold corned beef deli meat, with lettuce & tomato was okay, nothing special. The battered fries were pretty good and crispy, a bit greasy. The only issue was we had to swat away the flies near our table. We used an Entertainment coupon and got $5 off the check. First time at O'Tooles tonight. Walk in to a typical pub/restaurant. It seemed ok. Music, bar, people, ... Ya know. Luckily the hostess set us near the back away from the loud bar area, I was grateful for that. Our waitress was pretty good. Very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered a pizza with sausage and onions. My boyfriend ordered the Broccoli chicken Alfredo pasta that comes with a side salad. 1st off let me start with the Good stuff: The salad he ordered looked delicious. Fresh, crisp veggies. And some yummy garlic croutons on top. Nothing fancy. And the Garlic bread that came out with his pasta was probably the best I've had in a while. Just regular ol' baked garlic bread. Really yummy! Now on to the entrees. I don't know what I was expecting ordering a pizza from an "Irish Pub" type restaurant. But what I got greatly disappointed. It tasted like something you'd get in an Elementary school cafeteria. I have nothing good to say about it. I will admit my boyfriend and I each ate 1 slice, and we DID bring the left overs home just in case we get hungry in the next couple days and are far too lazy to cook anything ..... We might consider eating the left over pizza. His pasta: At first bite I got only a piece of chicken, nothing else. It was AMAZING!! The chicken was very flavorful and cooked just right so it wasn't dry. So, I gleefully dug into the dish and yanked out a bite of pasta with a broccoli on it. The broccoli was really good too. But I couldn't really taste much flavor coming from the pasta. I figured it was a dud piece and dove in for another heaping bite. I got alfredo sauce, pasta, and broccoli on this bite. I was excited! But .... it was absolutely underwhelming. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor whatsoever. We even added pepper and that didn't help. I ate a couple more bites hoping it'd get better, and it didn't. I finished off with some chicken and another bite of that delicious garlic bread, and called it quits. We didn't take any pasta home needless to say. The place seemed cool and all. But we will not be going back. And if we do we'll definitely try something different. But most likely we wont go back. read more

It's just okay. Went here on a date and they put us in the section behind the ordering station and refill station. Our waitress was pleasant, but almost non-existent. This leads me to believe if you don't reserve a spot, they put any extras in this barren section. Service was as slow as molasses in January. Waited at least fifteen minutes for every drink order and it was NOT packed. Food was just so so. Nothing homemade, nothing special, but the actual nightly specials are good deals and I imagine people go here to drink and for those alone. read more

O'Tool's has a lot to offer. There's the usual stuff like a bar, sports on the televisions scattered throughout the restaurant and bar sections, a juke box you can access with the "Tunes" app on your phone to play music to your liking, and a sort of Irish sports bar theme. You can also bring your family and just sit by the gas powered fireplace and enjoy trivia nights and not worry if your kids in their high chairs make a lot of noise or a little mess. The staff, of course, has always been pretty good too. Than there are the things that I feel makes them more special to me and which differentiates them from other typical bars. For starters, their wings are great! In terms of sauce, they may be typical and not particularly ground breaking but the quality of the meat they use and the "jumbo size" and juicy freshness of them is just delicious. Further, they have tap high top tables which are these circular seating areas with built in taps to three different types of beer which all run on a meter meaning you and your friends can just serve yourself at your leisure while you hang out and settle the bill after. No wait time. There are several of these too so some tables are likely to have at least one type of beer you will like. Of course the bar is also pretty close to me and there is ample parking outside so I don't have to worry about that. In the warmer months you can even sit outside and watch the strip mall under a torch while sipping beer and eating delicious wings if you like. All in all I like O'Tool's because I can bring different people there for different reasons. It can be a sports bar, a family restaurant, or a kind of unique drinking and service experience for those looking for something a little different than a standard bar. Sadly this place has become so lacking I don't know where to begin. We used to enjoy coming here. We have now given it more than one try and every time we have poor service, poor food, higher and higher prices and nothing but apologies from staff. The menu changes now constantly and not for the better. As someone who has both worked in bars and restaurants and managed them I can only assume it is a sign of bad ownership. Every time we go there are different staff and no one ever seems to know what they're doing. We sent food and drinks back each time because they are wrong and each time we get apologies but nothing else. It is time to move on this place has had it. For the price there are far better options. You mean someone couldn't go out and get more corn beef?? There is a Hannaford right down the street. We ended up staying as where could we go without reservations elsewhere.
