Tasty drinks and good snacks! We visited The Ragtrader on a Sunday afternoon, and it was nearly empty. The restaurant has televisions everywhere, cute decor on the walls, and comfortable chairs and benches. I tried the notorious to drink, and we split the fries and brussel sprouts. The notorious was well-made. The fries were piping hot and paired with a tasty sriracha mayo and an excellent garlic aioli. The brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked and had a nice sauce. I had my eye on this place for a few years but never got around to dropping by. An afternoon girls brunch was the perfect reason to check them out. It was a first for all of us. Ragtrader can be described as an upscale bar, with indoor or patio seating. Entire ambience was very quaint. Bo Peep is it's counterpart which I believe is akin to a speakeasy. We sat in the patio area considering it was 65 degrees. It was absolutely delightful and comfortable. I arrived last (thanks MTA) and shortly after, we placed our entree order. Aperol Spritz accompanied my meal which was Brussel Sprouts Salad with Kale, Apples, Quinoa, and Grilled Chicken. Very good. As an FYI for me, it was a bit challenging to select a dish from the menu since there were a lot of fried options and red meat---two things I don't eat, especially the latter. My friends enjoyed their selections as well. I shared a dessert with my friend --chocolate cake lit on fire with a dollop of ice cream. Decadent. My coworkers and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday night. It was packed so luckily we made reservations. Nice restaurant. The bathrooms were clean and there are single person toilet rooms which was convenient. Our waiter was very attentive refilling our drinks. We ordered a bunch of appetizers including the fried cauliflower, chicken wings, tuna tartare, and chips with spinach dip. All were pretty good but my favorite was the tuna tartare. The tuna almost melted in ur mouth. For my main, I got the market fish of the day which was branzino, it was well made and came with risotto with bokchoy topped with sweet soy sauce. I came here to celebrate a birthday and we had a really nice evening. I did not catch the name of our waiter but he was *excellent* and attentive. For having a large menu, there were very common bar drinks that were not on the menu like espresso martinis, but he let us know these could be made despite not being on the menu. The dinner menu clearly denoted which items were dairy free, gluten free, vegan, etc. As a large group of 10, the kitchen got all our our food out at the same time and the plating was simple but inviting and appealing. I had the market fish specialty of the day and it was delicious. The vegetables and warm grains were a nice complement and I really enjoyed it. The interior was very dark and someone crammed to navigate between people to walk to tables or to the restroom. It was nice decor with dark wood and library aesthetics, with mismatched chairs and some people on low settees or couches, but it was a little too dark to read menus or see those around the table in the corner we were sat. We sat upstairs at The Ragtrader, and it truly feels like it was designed as a shooting location for Mad Men's 2020s-era spiritual sequel: vintage, moody, cinematic, and full of character. For appetizers, in addition to the Tuna Tartare, we had the Shrimp Summer Rolls and the Brussels Sprouts. Parlour Room, their sister restaurant was exquisite, so I was amped to try the Ragtrader. The ambiance had low lighting, comfortable chairs, and great decor. The hubby and I had reservations to take our time with a couple of round of drinks and appetizers before a show. We ordered the ceviche tacos which were incredible and our favorite. The tuna tartare had a buttery texture and melted in my mouth. The crispy cauliflower was spicy and came with a mango chutney that had an unpleasant texture and tasted of raw spices. Came here for an anniversary dinner and first off, we booked this through resy and I usually mark if it's for a specific celebration but never get much out of it - but they gave us each a glass of prosecco on the house which was so sweet! We started with a dinner reservation at The Ragtrader so we can eat before we headed downstairs for our other reservation at Bo Peep. We ate the Caesar salad, jumbo grilled shrimp bowl, and got the yuzu chicken wings. all were fantastic. I took note from other reviews to not order the pizza or else I probably would have. Then we had some gelato which is actually from Il Laboratorio del Gelato so that was delicious! Then we headed downstairs for our bo peep reservation. There is a $25 per person minimum spend as well as a $10 per person charge for music but the 25 dollars is easy to hit if you each get a drink and then share a plate/app. The performance by Sydney Stephen was fantastic! She sang a lot of great hits and everyone sang along. It was so much fun! And the servers will perform as well which was a nice surprise. Drinks and service were great too. If this does not work, make sure you call and request normal chairs! The pan roasted half chicken is a must have - The chicken is the perfect serving size, the meat falls right off the bone and is easy to eat with a fork and knife without getting messy. Found this hidden gem close to my hotel by chance. Wanted a quick dinner and vegetarian options so walked in. Since I was alone and it was a bit late- past 9 pm, the hostess seated me at the bar. We had our wedding reception dinner at Ragtrader and bought out Bo Peep for the night. It was perfect in every way. First, Deena and her team made it incredibly simple and were so welcoming, thoughtful, and accommodating throughout the whole process. Yes, of course it's business, but it didn't feel like a business transaction. Second, the food... we had over 60 guests, a few with dietary restrictions, and there was something for everyone. They coordinated the timing of each course perfectly. Got a ton of compliments, especially the beef tartare -- which my very picky sister is still talking about. Third, the drinks were delicious. So well done! The bartenders handled all of us descending on them at the same time like champs. My review is for Bo Peep. Bo Peep is a classy speakeasy located below the Ragtrader. Whereas the Ragtrader had a party vibe about it when we walked in, we were happy to find the vibe in Bo Peep was much more lowkey. Upon walking in to the Ragtrader, we let them know we had a reservation for Bo Peep and they lead us down the staircase to the speakeasy. It's not a big bar but there's lounge seating, bar seating and a piano tucked in the corner. *Mandatory $10 cover charge every night for live music - take note and don't be an asshole about it!* The decor is stunning and looks like a library inside. Our waitress Stefanie came over right away and took our orders. We had the deviled eggs (amazing!!!), sweet potato fries (very good with honey mustard sauce) and the pistachio and grapefruit crème brulee for dessert (a must try). My friend had the Silver Fox drink and I had the Rosebud. The Silver Fox drink came smoked. It was a take on a Manhattan style drink. The Rosebud was botanical and fresh similar to a Gin Sour. Afterwards we each had a mocktail - the Charleston Smash and the Coco Cabana. The Coco Cabana tasted like a pine colada. The Charleston Smash was like a refreshing vodka soda minus the vodka. The piano entertainment for the night was lovely! The service in here was great and consistent the whole evening. There's bathrooms located right outside the speakeasy through the door by the bar. I am unsure if there's an elevator you can take down to the speakeasy or if stairs are the only option. Personally don't love their cocktail options. I'm a big vodka drinker and the few options were sweet and not to my taste. The live music was incredible but it was very odd that we were never told there was a music fee until we got the bill and we essentially didn't have a server while we were there despite it being almost empty. We split a bill at the end and somehow my friend got charged the whole bill even though I paid half (she saw it on her statement the next day) overall very strange and lackluster service for the price. Has tajin to spice it up and well worth the $5 off for HH. They also have an aperol spritz, which is also good but can get anywhere. Get the sweet potato waffle fries.
