We asked for extra bread to sop up the sauce. Also really enjoyed the chips and onion dip. I'd call it an upscale version of an Irish pub that delivers on its vision. May be a little too upscale for kiddos if you're trying to go for dinner time, but it was fine for our crew's late lunch snack. read more

The service was too-notch, the drinks were great and I was shocked at how delicious the soda bread was. Came back a few days later and had a similar lovely experience. Food was a health hazard. Service was slow. Biggest problem was with management. My steak was cooked WITH THE CLEAR PLASTIC WRAP STILL ON IT. Didn't realize until I had eaten half of it already. See the attached photos. So yeah, I ate a bunch of plastic. Didn't make a fuss, kindly requested the manager. The guy shows up and very rudely says "You were looking for me?" like I was really inconveniencing him. How about "How may I help you?" Fucking rude. Photo of the guy attached. He changes his tune when I point out the half eaten plastic wrapped steak. Then he asked if I wanted another or just to remove it from the check. I just say remove it from the check. Never came back to apologize or offer to comp the meal. Just went on about his business like one of his patrons didn't just ingest a very unhealthy amount of melted plastic. Then we get the check and the waitress emphasized that they removed the steak from the ticket like they were doing us some sort of huge favor. What is wrong with these people?? Honestly, the right thing to do on principle alone at an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM is to comp the entire ticket. We were just a party of 3, not even a big ticket. But I'm not going to beg for a comp. Staff needs to be better trained in basic hospitality and how to deal with the rare fuckup. They're extremely lucky I'm not the type to make a huge scene or freak out and call an ambulance or lawyer up. I felt sick to my stomach all day. Could have been the plastic or even just the thought of the plastic. I'm just writing a bad, but honest, Yelp review. Hope they improve their hiring and training practices after reading this. Brand new pub adjacent to the high line and across from Hudson Yards. I had a reward on the Hudson Yards app for a koozie or a cup so I went on the hunt for this spot. After searching the mall, I caved and asked. It's not in the mall, but across the street from Little Spain. It's brand new, so clean and beautifully designed with painted tiles and wooden beams. Brick accents and a tin roof. There's an open kitchen and tvs if you're into watching while eating. I didn't venture upstairs, but I'm assuming there's more seating. Tabitha the bartender was lovely. Happy to make recommendations. I ordered a blue point toasted draft and the caramelized onion flatbread. I didn't read carefully when ordering so I was a little surprised by the dominant saltiness of the anchovies and olives, but it was good once i switched gears from sweet to savory. I'd get the prosciutto, goat cheese, arugula and hot honey version next time. It was quiet in the restaurant, and just right for my mood today. I'd definitely come back during a game or happy hour when it's more lively. Two thumbs up! read more

This place was recommended by a friend and I'm glad I was able to try it out. We had the burger and chicken sandwich along with the short rib fries. The fries was most impressive to me because it had delicious chunks of short rib on the fries. The burger and chicken sandwich were tasty. I had 2 cocktails (can't recall the names!) but they very much were top quality flavors (gave me Dead Rabbit cocktail quality). And the staff was absolutely friendly. Generally, I don't like to provide a rating just due to bad service but Sunday brunch was a miss this morning. This place has so much potential but it falls short in too many ways. No espresso so no iced coffee or specialty coffees on a particularly warm day. When we finally were able to order, we tried ordering the Steak and eggs and were told they were out. When our food arrived(quickly which is why I give some stars here), it was missing pieces of the meal (either bacon, home fries or something was missing from a dish) and the staff did not know the menu well enough to notice. Hoping to give this place another chance but will definitely skip brunch on the next visit. read more

Left my apartment in search of comfort food and came across O'Toole's Way, tucked out of sight under the High Line. It's so new it doesn't have a liquor license yet. Even so, it hit the mark on every level. We had the hearty short rib cottage pie and the dirty fries -- true comfort food. And we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. Our Purple Rain mocktail was tart, pretty and delicious. The music was spot on -- the Stones, some Motown. And it's a really inviting space, candlelit and attractive. Best of all are the staff -- my servers Sarah and Patrick were so attentive and good humored. I know the crowds are going to find this place. For a change a fish in chips which was not overly oily and bland. The batter had the right flavour. The green pea dip served with it was a nice as it added more to the pallet along with the tatar sauce. The flat bread was very fresh with good amount of toppings which dint leave you looking for flavours in your mouth. The Espresso Martini was average. Friendly staff even at 1030 at night they dint show any urgency to close or tiredness which I thought was very welcoming. We sat outside, which was a very pleasant experience, A little garden overhanging trees, good music playing. All and all a very good experience, if you're around Hudson, this is a good place to try. read more

I've been to O'Toole's for lunch 5 times and once for holiday drinks w my team. Clearly I'm a fan! First the ambience is great, it's casual, but the place is new so that's a nice plus. Staff is always very friendly and welcoming. I like that the restaurant dining area is off to the side of the bar and the lighting is just right, a little on the darker side in the very best way. The cocktails are great and solid wine selection both by the glass as well as the bottle. I love the Irish nachos, their spin adds a little spice by throwing on pickled fresnos for some solid heat. Sirloin steak on toast is delicious, w tender NY strip steak perfectly seasoned over a crispy crostini. So good I enjoyed some cold ones on the train ride home after our holiday drinks night! My go-to pick on the menu though is 100% the "Dangerous Dave's" Dublin dip. Shaved slices of prime rib, cheddar cheese and caramelized onions on a perfectly toasted ciabatta bread with a bowl of gravy for dipping - I've ordered several times and recommended to everyone I've brought with me. It's so darn good! Great fries too. But despite my personal obsession with the DDDD you cannot go wrong with any of the menu options. I've enjoyed the hummus, wings, pizza, cheese plate, fried chicken sandwich and the burger. This place is such a great addition to the area and should be on your hit list when in the Hudson Yards area of NYC. read more

Great place tucked away on a side street that we stopped in after the NY car show. The staff was very friendly and attentive and we really enjoyed the food. We started with chicken wings which were really good. My son enjoyed the hot honey chicken sandwich and fries. My wife and I both had burgers which we thought were really good. I also had an excellent cocktail with two types of tequila and hibiscus. Overall a great find and will be back if in the area again. read more

Great food, drinks, service and ambiance. My wife and I had a very nice date night on a Saturday evening. My wife got the Proper Fish and Chips and said it was great. The fries were very good too. I got Dangerous Dave's Dublin Dip, shaved prime rib sandwich, which came with a nice, healthy, green side salad. We also got a side order of the colcannon, Irish mashed potatoes, also delicious. For drinks I had the On a Silver Platter tequila based drink and she got a nice hot toddy. We look forward to going back in warmer weather and having brunch on the upstairs outside deck. read more

I booked a reservation for 25 people. They offered me a beautiful garden room to hook me. I agreed to a $1,600 minimum. When I arrived they told me the room they offered want guaranteed. They offered me a sub par space that wasn't covered in case of rain, which was probable. The hostess wasn't apologetic about it at all. She was very matter of fact. Terrific meal, cocktails & dessert at O'Tooles yesterday. They have outdoor seating which we took advantage of. Unfortunately, for us another patron became ill in our proximity, The staff led by Mgr. Kelly McGee descended upon the situation like a choreographed SWAT team. Relocated us, cleaned the site so meticulously they were able to use the section again minutes later. Kelly and our server Delilah as well as another polite male there apologized profusely and ensured that our meal went without further incident. Food was remarkable: chicken pot pie; fish & chips the size of a barracuda; steak& lobster BLTs = delish, delish. Portions large but don't miss out on the desserts. You'd be depriving yourself. Went for happy hour with some friends after work and since we're new to the neighborhood it was our first time. The staff was very nice, the manager came over proactively to introduce herself and check in on our experience. Don't bother. This restaurant is consistently empty because they haven't gotten their liquor license. I live in the neighborhood so decided to order in but their online ordering system was broken. So I called and by time I got to a human she just passed me back to automated message saying to order online. So I called back and explained their system was broken and I got put on hold again so they could "check something". After 10 minutes on hold I gave up. They won't last. Shame. read more
