There's a new place in Granite Bay to check out. When you stop at Oak Leaf Cafe it appears to be a small cafe with some inside seating and a small patio but when you walk to the back it has a spacious seating area with a room that can clearly be used for private gatherings. It has some beautiful wood tables with live edges and the back looks out onto a pond/wildlife preserve. More importantly, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is tasty and not oversweet (I had the blintz crepes) and the whole environment is pleasant. My wife had an omelette and the potatoes, which she really liked, was very generous in portions and had fresh ingredients. My blintzes were on the large size and I only finished 1 1/2 of them(you get 2). They offer either sour cream or whipped cream on top so you can go sweet or not as you prefer. The menu has many options and is diverse. They clearly accommodate parties of all sizes as a family with 5 younger children, parents and grandparents came in and was easily taken care of. All in all, I would definitely recommend this brand new place in Granite Bay! We will definitely be back to try their other offerings. read more

Excellent and fast service. The food was delicious with huge portions. So many choices to choose from!

I reserved the private room 3 weeks in advance for a Christmas party for 20 people. I also called twice to confirm my reservation and quantity of guests. When we arrived we were casually told that the private room had been given to another party that morning. I spoke to the manager to try and find out what happened but he didn't seem to care or have a solution for us. read more

Today's experience at the Oak Leaf Cafe in Granite Bay was very disappointing. It began with us being seated following the friendly hostess checking for available tables and reservations. We were ready to order when the manager came to us and told us our table was reserved for a party of six, and we weren't six. We explained that we were a party of six, including two children. He said the hostess had made a mistake and we would need to move, and that they had another group that had reserved that table for six. So they seated our party of six (which included four adults and two children) at a table for four. For the entire time we were at the cafe, they never seated anyone at the larger table that we were asked to vacate. I understand that people make reservations and then change them, or make them and not show up. But a good manager would have at least said "sorry for the inconvenience," or acknowledged that the table we were asked to vacate had never actually been used. A little customer service goes a long way. We also had issues with some of our food. For example, the "Homemade Cornbeef Hash" tasted and looked like it was right out of a can. (Yes, I can tell the difference.) The mac & cheese (for one of the little ones) came out at least 15 minutes after everyone else's food. The server was nice enough, so we have no complaints there. I can't help but wonder if the Oak Leaf Cafe is under different management than on our previous visits? Previously we had no issues whatsoever. Very good food and very good service. Today, not so good. In fact, two of the four adults today have decided to never return to the Oak Leaf Cafe. read more

Seated right away by a friendly host. First time here. Had inside or outside seating. Beautiful view of a pond. They are open from 7 am to 4 pm for breakfast and lunch . Great selections on the menu. We went to Oak Leaf Cafe for breakfast. We had waffle with strawberries & whipped cream and crab cake Benedikt. Both were very good. We went back a couple days later for lunch - bleu cheese & bacon burger and chicken Marsala. Even better than breakfast. We ate indoors; outdoor area is also available. Inside is very open and bright. The booths are comfortable. Our waiter both visits (Ramon?) was excellent! Look forward to going back to probably try the crepes. read more

Good food, bad service. We had to wait 45 minutes for the food today. Servers are great but bad planning around large brunch parties. This has happened twice in the last few weeks (so not an anomaly) - people at the table next to us left without eating. I would avoid this place at the weekends. Needs better management. read more

Unquestionably the best Breakfast around. Best coffee and best service in the entire area. Only four stars for a couple of reasons: a) Wish they had a vegetarian egg benedict (the Florentine minus the canadian bacon) and b) their bacon is always too crunchy (ovecooked for my taste). Wouldn't know if the food is any good here and I'm never going to find out. We had an appointment for 11:30 and showed up about 45 minutes early. Rather than cancel our appointment and put us on the waitlist, they told us we have to wait for our appointment. Meanwhile they were sitting people that only had to wait 10 minutes. I'm one of those people who "plan" on writing a review when I get home but then forget ... however, I definitely wanted to take a minute to say how much I enjoyed my late breakfast today at the Oak Leaf Cafe. Went with a friend who was very pleased too. I got to taste her Chicken and Mushroom crepe which was VERY delicious and my Chilaquilles (which I'm very particular about) were awesome. Can't speak highly enough about our waitress (forgot to ask her name) and was impressed by what a wide selection of options they have from which to choose. Prices aren't bad either. Can't wait to go back. (Liked this place so much I'm posting a review a few different places but am NOT a robot.) read more

Always on the lookout for good places to dine, we tried Oak Leaf today and was really impressed with the quality of the food. For our 1 pm lunch we opted for breakfast items; a Western Omelette and Eggs Benedict. Both were the best we've had in years. My wife and I have had a lot of difficulty finding a great breakfast restaurant, and I think we finally found it at Oak Leaf. I had the crab cake Benedict and it was delicious. Real crab and authentic Benedict sauce. My wife really enjoyed her breakfast also, which was the country sausage on biscuit. The place was good looking, very clean and peaceful and relaxing. Never going back here. Are you kidding? $12 for a piece of wonder bread with a 1/4 of an avocado on it ? It was over salted how can you screw that up? It came with a small cup of fruit that was ok. I would have given it one star but the waitress was very nice so one star for her. The flyer at the street says steak and eggs for $9.99. NOPE they never even mentioned it. Oh and don't forget that when you go you better bring cash because not only do they charge you tax and a service charge they charge extra for using using your credit card. As we were the only ones there we knew the toast sitting on the counter getting stale and hard belonged to us. There are plenty of breakfast places around, don't bother with this one. read more

Recommended by a friend. Came in on a Tuesday afternoon. Was promptly greeted by a friendly young man. I sat in a booth in the back which had a great view of the pond. I ordered the seafood crepe and it was fantastic! The Hollandaise was perfect and flavorful with just the right amount of lemon. Recently came across this Newly opened very classic café in Granite Bay. I've only been there twice and tried their breakfast and lunch menu. They are very stylish and comfortable seating and have a great view of the quarry pond. I've tried a variety of items, eggs Benedict, French toast, chicken sandwich, try tip sandwich and everything has been excellent but I think I like the most was the chicken sandwich.They are very friendly staff, will definitely go again soon. read more

This has become our new go-to place for breakfast. The food is absolutely amazing! We've tried everything from the chicken-fried steak, the seafood omelet, the sweet cream cheese crepes, to the perfectly prepared pancakes. We love them all!! They even made a chilaquiles burrito at my request that was oh so delicious. The atmosphere is perfect as well - it's airy, up-to-date and clean! And, last, but certainly not least, is the impeccable service!! Everyone there is down-to-earth and friendly, from the cooks to the servers! But, our favorite is Lisa! First time coming here. Coffee was excellent - strong, just as I like it. We had the country skillet and the country breakfast. Both delicious. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Gravy and sausage were some of the best I've had. Biscuit was light and fluffy. Service was good. It's in a beautiful setting with a view of a large pond towards the back of the restaurant. I am very happy to say that Granite Bay finally has a lovely brunch establishment that is well priced, has friendly service and a fabulous selection of nom nom food! We had such a hard time deciding what to order because everything looked so good! We were really impressed with everything we ordered, which included the California Benedict and the verde omelet. I am kind of craving the potatoes right now thinking about it and really wanted to try one of their crepes or burgers as well but only had so much room to fill in my belly! The Oak Leaf has become our new "go to" weekend stop for a breakfast lunch craving because there is so much to chose from I don't know if we will ever get bored! A+ read more

Looked for a place for breakfast after church and found this gem. I had the Spinach Mushroom Omelet and it was very good. The atmosphere was welcoming, comfortable, and we didn't feel rushed. Our experience was not good. My daughter called 3 weeks before our arrival to book the private room for our Christmas party of 20. The hostess must have thought they were the party that had reserved the room. We asked the hostess to please ask them to move out of the room (I believe only 4 or so of their party had arrived). She got the manager and we repeated our request explaining what must have happened. He looked me right in the eyes and said "I don't know what to do" and walked off. What??? You do the right (but difficult) thing and correct the error. Not the customer service we expected so we left and will not return. read more

The food here is very good and the menu is extensive especially for breakfast foods. They also have wonderful burgers, sandwiches and pastas. The appetizer menu will satisfy any taste craving. Outdoor seating is extensive and very comfortable. Sometimes the wait for breakfast can be long but it is well worth it. The staff is friendly and responsive to changing items in a dish. No stars if possible. I called Oak Leaf on April 4 to make a rez for today - Mother's Day. I called before we arrived because two of our family members could not make the brunch. The person on the phone said she did not have a reservation for us. I explained I had 2 80 year-old family members with us and we needed to figure this out. She told me Oak Leaf doesn't take reservations that far in advance and implied I was being untruthful. Thinking I might be calling a different location, I asked her the location of the restaurant - if she was in Granite Bay and what street she was on. She did not know what street the restaurant was on! I asked her if they were next-door to Hawks and she did not know. I asked her how we could correct this situation and she said I'm sorry you don't have a reservation. I asked to speak with a manager and I was told the manager was helping the kitchen with food. I stated that I needed to speak with the manager to sort this out and she put me on hold. I waited for five minutes and then hung up. This was a brunch primarily for my 80-year-old Mother. Clearly you guys don't know how to manage a restaurant. For starters, I would hire crew who can read and write. Competency helps. I hope your cooks ( err manager) are better trained with food prep and storage. Good luck with your restaurant! read more

I first heard of Oak Leaf Cafe from Nextdoor and after looking at the menu online decided I had to give it a try and I can officially say I have my new go-to spot for breakfast and lunch! The atmosphere is soothing and inviting, the covered outdoor seating area is a beautiful place to enjoy your meal, with a view of the pond that looks like a nature preserve. The menu is pretty extensive with many choices of benedicts, crepes, avocado toast, sandwiches, burgers, wraps and entrees like Chicken Marsala and New York Steak. We decided on the crab benedict and Quarry Ponds Avocado toast. The benedict was just what I was hoping for, the crab cakes were delicious, eggs cooked perfectly and hollandaise sauce was silky smooth with just the right amount of lemon that was perfect with the crab cakes! We didn't know what to expect with avocado toast since neither one of us has ever had it before and my friend said it was amazing. The balsamic drizzle was the icing on the cake. The service was on point, I wish I could remember her name because she was the best, attentive without being overbearing. There were no long waits between ordering or asking for the check.
