The food overall was fresh and delicious, and the service couldn't have been better: friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The cozy atmosphere made it the perfect spot to start our day. Came here for a last minute lunch date and it was beyond our expectations! We got the mozzarella sticks, French dip, and Serrano burger. Probably the best mozzarella sticks/marinara sauce I've had, the bread and meat on the French dip was so good but definitely needs some cheese or onions. Service was great and quick. We look forward to coming for dinner but wish they had some of the same entrees for dinner as they did for lunch. Their breakfast looks amazing too so hopefully we can make it to that too read more

Fantastic breakfast spot! I can't believe I never went here before. Friendly staff, bright, spacious and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great for families, large parties, professional meetings, and dates. Parking was easy as it's in a traditional parking lot within a shopping plaza. Service was fast, we didn't wait long at all for the food. I also enjoyed the variety on the menu. There was something for everyone and the food was served hot and fresh. Went for breakfast with friends and had a bit of a mixed experience. The service was friendly and quick, partly due I think to it being a quiet morning. Still appreciated. It's a nice bright space with windows overlooking the quarry pond. We ordered two chile verde omelettes, chocolate chip pancakes and avocado toast. Everyone enjoyed the food, but my omelette came with a piece of wax paper in it (probably something that was between cheese slices in the packaging). Fortunately I spotted it before eating it, and our very sweet server offered to replace it (I'd probably already eaten a third of it before spotting the paper), and the new dish was still pretty good. I also tasted the pancakes which were pretty tasty as well. The Bloody Mary was fine, if somewhat unremarkable. I'd probably skip that next time but I would be willing to try the food again. read more

A great spot for brunch or lunch. It's not conveniently located, but they have a nice patio out back which is great during the spring and fall. We had Cannelloni Crepes, and the Country Breakfast. Food: delicious. I forgot what we got but it was great. Took a while to get our order taken but after that we got the food pretty quickly. Service: great, except there was only 1 waitress for the whole space when we went, so she was harried. But she did great and didn't mess up our orders and remained pleasant, if stressed. Ambience: beautiful decor, spacious. Loved the outdoor space. When we initially were there, there was no one else so ot was quiet, peaceful and we could hear the songbirds and a small group of adorable birds flying around. Unfortunately did not get to try the food despite all of the great things I've heard about Oak Leaf Cafe. My mom & I stopped by to give it a shot. Upon arrival, we were not greeted, nor even looked at, even though there were 2 workers up at front. We waited a while before we were acknowledged. After getting seated, no one bothered to check on us for about 10-15 mins. Another table was seated after us and they were served right away. The other table got their drinks and were able to place their order immediately. The server then left, again not batting an eye towards us. After another 10 minutes of us sitting with no drinks of food, we decided to leave. It simply did not seem fair that as the only people of color in the establishment we were ignored despite getting there before other tables. However, I will say that there was one young man up at front that was very apologetic & wanted to help us anyway he could, but we decided it was best for us to go. Went with a friend to try a new brunch place and was impressed with Oak Leaf! It was busy but we were seated relatively quickly and received our drinks and food in a timely manner!! I recently visited this Cafe with a group of friends and co-workers. The food had a great flavor and came out of the kitchen pretty quickly. I ordered the southwestern wrap and sweet potato fries which were great. The ambiance is very modern. The service was okay. I'm not sure if it has to do with the generation but our server seemed to lack a little bit of motivation. For example, he rarely went by to fill waters or ask if things were needed. One of our friends ordered a salad and after delivering it with no dressing he asked her if she wanted dressing and seemed surprised that she would want that with her dry salad. He did a great job filling iced tea for one of my co-workers. However my other coworker on the other side of the table never got a refill of the same drink. He had been walking around with the pitcher. There were only about six of us at the table. After collecting payment he was also very confused as to whose card went to who. Nestled within Quarry Ponds Town Center, Oak Leaf Cafe is a narrow restaurant as seen from the vast parking lot. Even the OPEN sign was blocked by a post outside so I only knew they were open by trusty Yelp! We walked in and were seated immediately by a friendly waitress with a great smile. The restaurant opens up after passing a few tables and the cooking area to reveal a beautiful view of Quarry Pond. There is a large tv in the back of the restaurant airing the football game on this Sunday morning and tables all around ordering mimosas. We were having a PG post-church breakfast so we just stuck to the food. Here's our take on what we ate: Steak and Eggs - 8 - Potaties could have been crispier and had more seasoning. Steak and eggs were great. Seems like they lightly marinated the steak and seasoned it well on the grill. Quarry Pond Avocado Toast - 5 - Didn't have basil flavors and toast wasn't toasted enough to hold the avocado. Chicken Fried Steak - 7 - This is the smallest portion I've seen for chicken fried steak but it was enough to fill me up after 4 slices of toast. Good crust on the meat but some pieces tasted of flour. The gravy was pretty good but not quite that homemade flavor we get in our house. The eggs were cooked perfectly. In retrospect, maybe I'm getting old but $4 for a glass of milk and $4 per cup of coffee felt a little pricey. While the food was average and proportions below average, the ambiance, service and view separate this breakfast stop from the rest of the pack. If elegance is what you seek, this is a classy place to have a morning bite but there is better food out there. read more

We went for a Sunday morning breakfast. The ambience is lovely and our waitress was outstanding. But the main reason we went there was because the weather was unusually cool for the area in July and we hoped to eat outside. We were told the bugs were too bad. I was okay with that but I did not appreciate being told by one of the waiters" I'm not serving anyone out there". I had the ham and cheese omelet which was okay - better than most - but I could not finish it within an hour. I see Tons of videos on YouTube explaining how to make an omelet so I am always amazed that it is virtually impossible to get a decent omelet in America. They add milk to make it rubbery and overcook it. I cooked myself an omelet the next day and I slurped it up in a couple of minutes, because it was delicious and not chewy. read more

Apparently they are trying remodel while keeping the place open.... Uhhhh. No.... That's not working. lol. Waitresses seemed out of synch and frustrated. Server was sweet, but she was really inefficient. Could tell she was frustrated and it showed, making us anxious. My gosh, how I wish it had been a sunny day so we could sit outside! When I came it was Saturday morning so quite busy. There were available tables and I did not have to wait long to be seated. Upon entry the host was no where to be found so I waited in the entrance for a little. I was seated once the host came back and spotted me. Some food had burnt so the whole front of the restaurant was very smokey and made it a little hard to breathe. Very loud inside and not very clean. I ordered sausage links, a mimosa, and breakfast potatoes. The food arrived and I didn't get any silverware brought to the table until the food almost got cold. The sausage links were very good and the mimosa was decent but champagne used for it was very low quality. Potato's had a salt water taste to them which wasn't very good. My Mother told me to come here, as it is her favorite place, so me and the hubby decided to check it out. Food was amazing, and if you have the chance to get their artichoke omelette, do it quickly. When traveling to the area from reno and traveling from this area back to Reno, we stop here for breakfast or lunch. We have been coming for awhile, when they first opened and just recently, as in yesterday. In there opening state, it was very bright and clean. As time has passed the restaurant looks and feels dirty. They don't have a good exhaust system because it's smokey each time we've gone inside the dining area and they won't open a door for air circulation. Their thermostat is set to like 81 degrees so it's smokey and not comfortable. The bathrooms, sticky. They don't get deep cleaned regularly and they just have toilet paper out everywhere. Like everywhere. Then comes the food, it's going downhill... it's a lean kitchen but the quality of the food seems to have changed as well as the care in the food preparation and presentation as well. This last visit was annoying for me... it was smokey in the restaurant, the quality of the food has cheapened and it was hot in the restaurant on an excessive heat day and after tip, spent $70 for nothing of quality or value. We're unsure if we are going to continue visiting. read more

We came late today, about 1:30. We really wanted breakfast and this is open until 4pm. They serve breakfast and lunch. First time here. Very nice rustic place. Love the wood and marble tables with metal farmhouse chairs, they have booth seating as well. It also has patio seating and a large pond behind the restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food had great flavor. Nothing was bland, it was seasoned well and cooked well. Hubby got the country breakfast and the o my complaint was it really needed more gravy but tasted good still. I ordered the country skillet which doesn't come w gravy but I think it would be over the top good if it did! It was still pretty good and had a good flavor profile. The coffee wasn't super hot and maybe needed a fresh brew, but this was understandable since it was late in the afternoon, but wasn't worth the $4 cost for it! I heard of this place and went there couple of times, so this is not my first time. The location and the restaurant is really beautiful. Service was good, the food on the other hand for me is getting worse and worse not sure why. It's very sloppy, it's like they throw your food on the plate. My avocado sandwich literally had 3 cut small pieces, which I had spread out. Chicken strips looked burnt. So not sure what's going with food. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and the other two had the Cali bene. All came with their house potatoes which were only ok. Some crisp and a bit more flavor would have been helpful. We went there for dinner tonight and thought the food was wonderful. The ambience is very nice (modern) and our meals were very fresh and tasty. My husband had the lasagna and I had 2 starters, bruschetta and Caprese salad. We tried a little of all 3 dishes and both agreed it was fabulous. Our server was also very friendly and efficient. We felt bad that it was so dead inside there and the server said it's because they just started serving dinner 2 months ago.
