Another young entrepreneur in the Auto World. Called and made an appointment to see him. He estimated to get me in and out in about 30 minutes for my smog check. I was out in less than 15 since I arrived and that's with phone calls he immediately answered. Underpromise and overdeliver. He also does oil changes so it's super convenient to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. He's fast, efficient and doesn't tool around which is great for those of us on an hour lunch break. I absolutely love these guys and trust them 100%. I had a car issue on my jetta and went straight to Waise and his guys and after 3 days of trying to figure out what was wrong, ordering & installing parts they were unable to fix my issue which resulted in going to the dealership. But not at one pint did they charge me for any of the parts or labor they spent on trying to figure out my car. After I took it to the dealer they called me to find out what they had missed. They truly care about their customers and their vehicles! Most car places would've charged me for everything just to get paid, but not these guys, they're loyal, honest and don't try to nickel and dime you over every penny. I had an amazing experience with OC Auto Care. A few weeks ago, my PT Cruiser started having issues with the check engine light coming on. Then it began to die while I was driving. I checked yelp and found the guys at OC Auto Care. They took great care to check over my car and try to find the issue. Unfortunately, my car never died for them. They had my car for several days but could not find a problem. On their recommendation, I took it to a dealership. Btw, I was not charged for the any of the diagnostics or the time they spent driving the car. My experience at the dealership was awful. $130 later, they too could not find the issue. They called me to come pick up my car. According to them, they drove it 15 miles (though my dashboard said otherwise, 3 according to my car!). I got the car moving 2 inches before it died in front of the dealership office. They kept the car another day and found 7 things wrong with it and they wanted to fix all of them! I am pretty sure my fog lights are not the reason my car is dying. So, I called the guys at the OC Auto Care. I read them the report and they said that only 2 of the issues brought up might possibly cause my problem. They quoted me a price (1/2 what the dealership wanted) and I took the car in again. Upon further review, they were not convinced these 2 errors were actually causing the issue. They were very aware of my financial situation and did not want to do a ton of work if it was not going to 100% fix my problem. My car was with them for another week. Still they could find nothing. I do not fault the guys at OC Auto Care for this. I have taken it to 4 locations now and still no one knows what is causing my Cruiser to crap out. However, the guys at the OC Auto Care are the only ones who never tried to BS me and I feel like they were truly looking out for me and not trying to take advantage of my wallet. I would highly recommend them to my friends and family. read more

The hype is legit. I wouldn't say its 'the best car experience of my life' as others may have stated, but here's the lowdown. If you work in the Lake Forest / South Irvine Area, GO HERE. 1. Its easy to find. Its literally behind america's tire and then just look for the OC Auto Care Billboard as pictured. 2. Its a 60 second walk from, Taco Bell, Del Taco, Subway, and the Hat 3. You'll have just enough time to drop off the car, eat lunch and make it back within your 1 hour lunch break. (20-25 minute job) 4. Yelp discount. ($10 off) The only downside I can see is if more than 2 people read this review and then go get their smog on the same day at the same lunch hour. Its pretty crowded in the parking lot and there's only one service stall so someone's gonna have to wait in the alley. Other than that, its all good. read more

I came here by means of yelp reviews. Came in without an appointment at around 10am, Friday. There was one car ahead of me. I waited about 10 minutes for it to finish. My car took about 15 minutes to finish. About 30 minutes total. Not bad. After Yelp discount, final cost was $48. I read from other reviews the cost is $38. I kind of feel ripped off because my car is a bimmer, so I took 2 stars off because I felt he saw my car and instantly pulled the cost $48 out of his ass to nail me. I don't recall seeing a sign indicating cost of service. I would have tipped him $10 anyways. Not a big deal. There's a million shops out there that can do smog just as good. read more

These guys are great! I have been doing my oil change here for years, but never used them for repairs. This week that changed and I recommend them for any issues you have without any reservations. Father and son owners are both honest and conscientious. The repair was done beautifully. We requested 8 quotes from different shops all rated highly for their service. The quotes were to address several major service issues on our recently purchased used Acura. We wanted every thing that could be wrong in the next year to be repaired. Our highest quote was $3,200+ tax. They did everything in 2 days and our final bill was less than half than that highest quote. We could not have done all the repairs needed at this time with any of the other quotes. They were the only shop that allowed us to afford all the repairs. I've been here a couple times. Once for an oil change. Once for a smog check. In both cases, Willie and Weise were professionally competent, did everything with a smile, and handled everything with care and ease. Total find, and I will be taking my Toyota suv back there for repeat maintenance. Oh yeah...and they're VERY affordable. TIP: You may have trouble finding the place, and it doesn't come up correctly on Google Maps. It's in an alley behind the America's Tire store. After reading the prior reviews, I was expecting in and out great service, however my experience was a bit frustrating. I stopped in, and one guy said that the mechanic who does the smogs would be back in 45 minutes. I killed about an hour and went back. Then there was another guy there in addition to the first man I spoke with. The second guy also said the smog mechanic wasn't back yet, so he called him on the phone and told me he wouldn't be back for another hour. They took my name and number and said they would call me to come back. In an effort to get my smog checked today (registration required it), I remembered this place in Aliso Viejo, so I drove over there, and within minutes they smogged my car and I was paid and on my way. This place is right on Aliso Creek Road, I believe it's called Aliso Viejo Smog Check. At this current moment, OC Auto Care has not called me to come back, and it has been over two hours since my initial visit to their shop. I will not be going back there. read more

I needed a new place to take my car. I had been stuck with places that were subpar (like Pep Boys) for far long. Far too long that I was actually overdue for my oil change (whooops). I found this place on Yelp and they are very close to my house. So I looked up that they opened up at 9AM and got over there just as they opened up. They were a bit tricky to find but I'm glad I persevered! Like I said, I pulled right up. There was a nice gentleman standing out front and I asked if I would be able to get an oil change this morning. He said you may need an appointment, but let me check. He went to check with someone but he was in the back. He asked where I found them and I mentioned on Yelp. I told them was okay with making an appointment if I needed to as well. After about a minute, he said they could get me right in. He pulled my car right in! I sat down at the front. I was offered a glass of water, which was nice. I was asked again where I found them and when I said Yelp, I was offered a $3 off discount. Score! I was in and out in probably 25 mins and for a whopping $29! Now THAT is service!! I was told I'd probably need my brakes worked on. I was quoted a price and time frame for the work to be done. I told them I would see when my husband was available to drop me off and he told me they could also drop me off if I lived close. That a big bonus point for me. I was also told I'd probably need new tires and given some suggestions of places to get prices. Overall, great, great service. Next time I'll make an appointment, just for the convenience. Soooo before taking my parent's '99 honda accord out for another 1200 mile roadtrip from the oc to seattle, I decided the car needed a much needed maintenance and decided to take it to OC auto care after a recommendation from a friend. Turned out the car at 150k miles, had ever had its timing belt changed and Waise, the owner of the shop, recommended that I change it. Now how did it even last that long without getting its timing belt changed? Don't ask me, I was only using the car for the summer. I had to take the car back to Seattle within a few days so Waise and his crew were thankfully able to squeeze me in and got the car done in about a day, and it didn't cost me and arm and a leg. Sooooo to sum it up, I definitely recommend OC Auto Care, really friendly and honest people! Came in here instead of the Honda dealership to see if the hype was as good as it sounds. And it was.... Willie and his son are great mechanics who care about doing business right with you. I got a diagnostics test done there, and it had to be done at the dealership but they knocked 50 bucks off since they were not able to do anything with the car. I will be back here for my service and will refer people to this mechanic as the father and son are honest and care to have your loyalty. I'm a little picky about the places I go to get my car fixed or where I get a smog check or oil change because I'm worried about my car. I originally had some trouble finding this place when I used Google Maps, but basically, if you're coming on Aspan and see the American Tire Company, it's nestled in right behind it. Be sure to make an appointment, as it seems like this place gets busy fast. I came here for an oil change and it only took 20 minutes - they even took the tire out to show me that my rear brakes were getting low and recommended getting it fixed, whether I got it fixed there or at another place. Very great, honest, and fast service. I will definitely be bringing my car back here again when needed. read more

HONEST mechanic. I drive a BMW X5 and it was making a lot of road noise. My wife and I were hesitant to take it to another place other than the dealership, but dealership prices are crazy and not worth it. Weiss told me the problem could be one of two things, one being twice expensive as the other. Luckily it was the half expensive problem, I just needed a new wheel bearing. I think that they could have easily lied and said the more expensive part needed changing, but they didn't. After reading a bunch of reviews I thought it was odd a company had so many good reviews, but after my experience I understand why. All in all, I would highly recommend this company. read more

So when you are on the way there go down Aspan then you will see a little street right after American Tire Co turn left and then right after you pass the tire place you will find OC Auto care way in the back. I checked out OC Auto Care Based on the excellent reviews. I have had a car in another Mission Viejo repair place off of Fabricante for 3 weeks so far with no solution in sight so when my daughter's car started showing signs of problems I turned to Yelp for a better repair shop. I'm very thankful to have found this shop. The owner and his son are courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely reasonable with their pricing. They stand behind their work and are accommodating with scheduling. They are also open on the weekend! I'm going to try and tow our other car here to have them take care of it. Another great selling point is that they will diagnose the problem and give you an estimate for no charge. So many places charge for the diagnosis but then credit you for the cost of fixing it at an inflated price. OC Auto Care researched the problem, called with the estimate and had it fixed same day before I even got off of work. They are honest, inexpensive, quick, reliable, friendly, and competent. Very deserving of their ratings. *just a little hard to find. Take Lake Forest to Aspan and make a left down the "street/large alley" just past American Tires. A good mechanic is hard to find, and I'm glad I found one. The deliver on their promise and you definitely get wha you pay for: Competent mechanics, great service, and a lasting relationship going forward. I took my car in to have the EGR valve replaced/repaired because I was told by another shop it needed to be replaced after a quick diagnosis they figured out it was not the EGR Valve rather the knock sensor that needed replacing. After replacing the sensor the check engine light was reset and has stayed off. The cost was extremely reasonable, the service was very professional. Would definitely recommend them to anyone else. read more

Yet another story of Yelp coming through for me again... Took my wife's car here for a smog check a couple months ago. We needed to find a place to get it done quickly because DMV needed a current cert ASAP and we needed somewhere that could get it done same-day without an appointment. Dropped by and the place was swamped. Waise let me know the wait situation and told me that if I came back in about an hour that he'd knock the test out quick so that we wouldn't have to sit around. Wife and I took care of some errands in the area, came back and he took care of the smog test in 15 minutes, tops. He even topped off the windshield wiper fluid tank which was totally empty-- for free. Who still does that kind of service these days? I'd definitely take our cars back for smog tests. I just went in to get my car smog tested this morning and was in and out in less than 20 min (but i did get there right when they opened). The guy who helped me was super nice and efficient. I'm so used to my old place in Westminster ignoring me when they see me. It was like pulling teeth trying to get some assistance there. Today however was awesome. I was greeted right away to see what I needed, he got to work immediately, I paid, he said "goodbye have a nice day" , and I left. I agree with all the reviews. My wife had been here before after seeing it on Yelp, and she had good things to say. Naturally when I needed a smog certification, I went here. I called up and he made an appointment same day. I could have walked up but he said the wait would be longer. I forgot my DMV paper but the owner kept my spot in line when I got back. He offered me a free bottle of water and was very personable and nice to talk to. Seems like he loves his job. He performed the smog in about 10 minutes and I was on my way. I even had an old car battery that had been sitting in my car that I wanted to get rid of. He offered to discount my smog what he gets for used batteries when he turns them in. After reading all of the customers' raving reviews on O.C. Auto Care, I decided to give them a call. This was my experience. I called on a busy Friday afternoon, before a three day weekend to discuss a problem I was having with my brakes. About a year ago, another shop told me that my REAR brakes were going out and would need to be replaced very soon. The gentleman I spoke with (apologize for not getting his name, I believe he is the owner) was very friendly and offered to take a look at my car that day--I was able to get in within an hour of calling!!! I dropped off my car and shortly after, received a call explaining that my FRONT brakes needed to be replaced. NOT the REAR brakes. In fact, he said my rear brakes still had about 30% more life before needing replacement! So, the previous shop was obviously not telling me the truth. This is the reason I (usually) despise going in for auto repairs. We've all seen the TV shows exposing the dishonest mechanics...This will not happen here! They are trustworthy, they go out of their way to accommodate their customers, and they don't overcharge. I am very pleased with their services and I highly recommend this shop! read more

While I didn't actually get a smog check here I had an excellent experience! When I pulled up I was immediately greeted by a friendly young man (perhaps the owner several of you have mentioned below?). I told him I was in for a smog check but he explained his machine broke that morning. The guy tried to set me up an appointment for the following day but when I told him I was unable to return he asked me to wait a moment. He got on the phone and called another local smog check place. When he hung up the phone he apologized again and told me a friend of his would honor the same Yelp price for me and gave me a map. I came in for a smog certification on my pickup truck. A little hard to find (take the road alongside the American Tire shop, follow it behind the business, look for OC Auto Care on the left), but well worth the search. I parked, walked up to the counter and they immediately started the process: complete the paperwork, confirm the price, hand over the keys and have a seat. The mechanic took the keys and immediately put the truck on the smog machine. Within 20 minutes the process was complete, and we were ready to pay up and leave with our smog certificate. I did call the shop before I drove by to ask if they had time to smog the truck that afternoon, and they said they did. And they were telling the truth, unlike some automotive shops that say they have time and you pull in to see two dozen cars in the lot with numbers on the roof. Not here! When I pulled in, the lot was nearly empty! I got in and out quickly, the price was exactly what they quoted (less $10 for mentioning Yelp), and the customer service was good. You won't find a cushy leather couch or a skinny latte - but then again, you really won't have enough waiting time there to enjoy them. This is a good thing! read more

Five stars + to Waise. I pulled up early for my appointment, he immediately took my car and had my smog test done in about 20 minutes. I forgot to mention Yelp for the discount but he asked me how I heard about him and I said Yelp and he gave me the $10.00 discount! Props! I usually go to my friend close to home in Anaheim but I was working in Mission Viejo so I decided to search on yelp for an auto shop that will do a fast oil change for cheap. OC Auto Care was the first that popped up and also has all straight 5 star ratings. Weiss was one of the employees. He was very polite on the phone when I called to ask for pricing and store hours. Wonderful place. It was a little hard to find being hidden behind other places and it's not visible from the cross roads. You really have to walk inside to find out. The first day I couldn't even find it since my GPS said the destination was on the right and all I could see was American Tires!! It's behind that. The second day, I called them and found out where they were and then went in. I went in without an appointment. But they still got the job done pretty quickly. He gave me a $10 off as soon as I said Yelp. Well, he asked me how I found out about him. I said Yelp and voila $10 saved. Thanks Yelp!! read more
