How this place received such positive reviews on Yelp is quite surprising, as my experience with OC Auto Care entailed the most unprofessional and unfathomably rude service that one would expect from a chop shop in Tijuana. The main guy who evidently runs the place (who is a very unpleasant, older bald man) was a total a**hole and this business most definitely deserves a 1 star review.
I was referred to OC Auto Care by Sam Ghodsi of the Carwin Corp. whom I purchased a 2006 BMW 330 CI Convertible in September of 2017. Upon buying the car, I experienced numerous issues that included a check engine light, engine oil leak and windshield wiper fluid leak; which the car dealer assured me would be "taken care of" by his mechanic at the OC Auto Care facility.
Following my scheduled repair appointment with OC Auto, I informed them of the specific problems pertaining to the oil leak, wiper fluid leak and check engine light, and was told that the vehicle would be "inspected." It was understood that any diagnostic and repair cost would be covered by the car dealer who sent me there, and I promptly waited to receive further information from OC Auto; as to the details and extent of what the repairs would entail.
One of the younger mechanics at OC Auto informed me within 6 hours of the time that I dropped off my car that my BMW "was done" and that I could pick it up. When I further inquired specific information as to what exactly was wrong with my car, they were very quick to get rid of me and the mechanic in charge mumbled something about replacing a few hoses and vaguely suggested that some sort of valve work was performed.
At this point, I politely thanked them for their service and complaisantly proceeded to drive my car off the premises, with the assumption that the oil leak, wiper fluid leak and check engine light situation was adequately taken care of. In the next few days, I noticed that the engine oil and windshield wiper fluid were still leaking; moreover, the check engine light eventually came back on and I was stuck with the same problems I had to begin with.
Naturally, any legitimate and reputable repair facility would surely stand by their work, but not these guys. I called Sam, the car dealer who initially sent me to OC Auto, and he arranged another appointment for me to bring the vehicle back for inspection. What happened during the second time I brought the Beemer back to OC Auto is utterly appalling.
I live in San Diego, and I had to take time off from work to drive to Orange County for the specific purpose of having the car fixed. When I showed up at OC Auto, I was subjected to the absolute worst customer service by their senior mechanic, who completely blew me off and standoffishly refused to perform any work on my car. Why? Because I truthfully told him that they did an inadequate job on my car, upon which he blew up and practically kicked me off the lot.
Once again, any honest and legitimate repair facility would have righteously apologized for not getting the job done right the first time and would stand by their work, but these guys can't handle it when you call them out for jerry-rigging your car. A word of advice to the senior mechanic: Here in America, the customer is always right and you should be ashamed of yourself for treating customers in such an abhorrent manner. read more
