I had a major need for a good auto shop open on the weekends and also be trustworthy and I found it here. I used to frequent this area including the Del Taco nearby but had no clue this shop existed. After visiting their website, I noticed something about appointment only so I gave them a call and set up a Saturday morning visit for an oil change and smog check. Thank you to the person who put up a map on how to find them - it really helped. I was quoted 30 minutes to one hour of wait time and they were right, leaving me with about an hour wait. During my wait, I had the opportunity to chat with the older gentleman there who I believe was the father of the shop owner. He cut me off in the middle of me asking about an appointment and said their machine was down. He didn't offer any info about when it might be working again...just "our machine is down" and hung up. I'm writing this review almost 4 years later because my experience was that good. I was at my church one Friday night and my alternator went out in my 2003 Ford Expedition. I didn't want to tow it back to Fullerton so I checked on Yelp for a good shop. This one seemed great, but I wanted to do some research first. I called my friend who owns an auto parts store and asked him the price for an alternator, he offered to get me one at cost. I called OC Auto Care and they quoted a price that was a couple dollars cheaper than what my friend quoted. That was a good sign that they were honest with their parts pricing. This place is the most honest and helpful automotive establishment around. I was having an issue with my car (making a strange sound) as well as noticing the check engine light being on. The owner drove my car, and immediately told me that it was the transmission. Instead of offering to do the repair, he asked me if I was aware that my specific car's transmission warranty had recently been extended and that I could have my dealership do the repair at no cost. (I would not have known that.) He also checked my tire pressure, explained what the "check engine light" meant, and gave me some car advice all at no charge. He also told me to give him a call if I had any questions or needed advice about what to expect with my car. Waise is the man! I found OC Auto Care on yelp after I was not satisfied with my old mechanic. The old mechanic I use to go to (A+ Auto) charged an arm and leg for service, and most of the time, something was wrong after I left. That problem is nonexistent with Waise and OC Auto Care. His place is a little bit tucked away, but once you find it you'll definitely keep going back I first went too see him for an oil change. It was a quick in and out. good price and great service. A month later I totaled my car, and after buying a replacement, I took it to Waise to make sure it was mechanically sound. He did a full inspection, took him about 20 minutes - - I thought it would be an hour, and when I got back from lunch, he gave me the sheet with the inspection, noted that my 2nd drive belt was cracked up and needed to be replaced, and then didn't charge me for the inspection! I got my car from carmax, so Waise told me that the drive belt was cracked up and that they'd replace it. He didn't try and sell me on doing it himself. I even tried to pay him and he wouldn't have it. Great shop. Great work. Waise is a great guy, if you aren't taking your vehicle here, you're definitely missing out. Thanks Waise. read more

Nice, friendly, cool group of guys that got me in without an appointment and finished in half the time they promised. Very pleasant experience, and a relief to find a decent mechanic having just moved to the area. The only reason for withholding that last star is that the prices seem higher than I'm used to. Having moved from the SF Bay Area, I was accustomed to $30 smog checks, and $20 oil changes. I think my total here came out to be $78 after the $10 yelp discount. read more

There is a Lexus shop adjacent to them and I have always felt they have a thorough knowledge of my car and they give excellent service. i had another oil change and with my wife's Lexus and they had me in and out in about a half-hour including checking the key vehicle points and topping off fluids for me always with a kind and friendly attitude. Fantastic Service, Reliable, Great Prices! Toyota dealer informed me I had a leaking timing chain cover 5 months after warranty was up and wanted an outrageous amount to fix it. Was referred to OC Auto Care by a friend. I went and asked about fixing the leak which I knew was a 3 day job. They were able to fix my car for almost 1/2 the price and allowed me to leave it while out of town and pick it up when I returned. I really appreciate the personable customer service! Finally found my trusted mechanic in Irvine after moving here for two months. My Corolla wouldn't start on a Saturday morning even after I jump started it. After reading some reviews on Yelp, I decided to tow it to OC Auto Care for fixing. The service was very polite and timely. They are also honest about the issue and give fair price. I was expecting a hefty repair cost since I thought I might need to replace the battery. But they told me that my battery was fine, only the connection between the battery and a plug was loose. So they tighten it and only charged me $35 and I was in and out for less than an hour. I am so glad to find an skilled mechanic whom I can trust. Will be coming back. read more

My BMW over-heated, so I had it towed to OC Auto Care and Weiss fixed it that day. Before I took it there, I called around and OC Auto Care had the best price and best Yelp reviews. He did a great job and highly recommend him. He's very trust worthy! Then later on my car battery died (my car is getting old, which is annoying haha), and I tried jump starting it with no success. So I called Weiss to make sure I was doing it right, and I was but I think the battery was toast. So then the dude drove to my house with a battery and changed it for me!!! That saved me a towing fee.That's crazy good customer service!!! That's way above and beyond the call of duty. Came here for an oil change. The oil change comes with a full service check -- really nice, because the car needed it. There was a misunderstanding about the appointment -- the person on the phone told us to show up at 9:00 AM, their opening time, but it seems they had not penciled us in. Regardless, they worked with us and took the car and got the job done in a timely fashion. Excellent service overall; they called us to update us on problems they found during their service, and provided detailed explanations and quotes on everything.
