Recently had a group lunch with a team of 10 on a Friday at opening and didn't want to go to the spectrum. Matt (manager) was a rock star! He really took care of our group. I called a week before to see if we could make a reservation for the patio area, and upon arrival the table was setup and ready to go. This spot was perfect for our team as it had plenty of parking (we went during a week day before the club studio or orange theory rush). Our group had no issues opening up a tab and ordering food at the register upon arrival. The menu variety was great, even with our group that had various dietary restrictions (nut allergy, gluten free, seafood allergy, vegetarian, etc.). Such a great experience with tasty food and drinks. Would recommend for other corp lunches if you want to try something different from the usual spectrum offerings and do not need the traditional order at your table style.
Excellent Turkish breakfast, such an underrated restaurant in OC. Manager and staff are very nice and professional. They even brought more bread without requesting it. Highly recommend!
We came here with a group of 10 people and had no trouble finding a place to sit for lunch. Ordering is pretty straightforward, and there's a display with desserts. I appreciate how they have a decent kids' menu - my boys loved it! I tried the fried calamari, ahi poke bowl, rice pudding, and another dessert that had pistachio (I don't see it on the menu, but it was in the display case). The calamari was really good - I like the breading on it. Nice and crispy and thin. The poke was also pretty good. I should have asked for the dressing on the side, but oh well! The fish was really good, and I had it with quinoa. All of the toppings were great as well. Nice balance all around. But the sleeper hit was the rice pudding. So unassuming at first, but after that first bite - yum! Several people at our table said it was probably the best thing we tried during lunch. So smooth and such a great flavor. Not too sweat at all. And it looks like they might have brulee'd it first? Not entirely sure, but very tasty. Service was decent, and there's plenty of parking in the plaza.
Looking for a healthy place to eat in the area. My husband found this place. they have a lot of varieties in their menu-mediterranean mostly. i ordered their thai salmon and hubby ordered grilled mahi mahi with french fries and grilled zucchini. the dressing on my thai salmon and the salad is delish. it has mandarin, apple, carrots and nuts. The service is great and the restaurant is clean. Lots of sitting area. The outside sitting is covered with grapevines. ait feels lime you are at the winery kind of vibes.
Flies, Flies, and more Flies last Saturday Evening. Enter the restaurant at approximately 6 pm on one of the hottest days of the year and both doors were wide open and it was hot inside the restaurant. No A/C on! Asked the waitress why no A/C on such a hot day and she said manager decided not to turn it on. I can't believe they were making employees--especially ones in the kitchen work under these conditions!? It was over 80 degrees in there--probably about 85 really. I was already perspired from the day hauling stuff so I was okay with it. Ordered my Salmon and sat down inside. As soon as the Salmon plate was placed on the table, not one, not two, not three but a team of flies converged on my food. Both big and small flies. I swatted them away and they came back with a vengeance, some flying together in teams. Those little flies stood their ground on the table around my Salmon and refused to move. Now I am wondering how many flies are in the kitchen? Maybe stirred up in the food? That's not a spice I want! I could not get a bite without flies attacking so I picked up my stuff and sat outside on the patio. One fly came by occasionally but not as bad as the infestation inside. I am wondering if this restaurant has an owner on the premises regularly and the competency of the manager? Does the owner know what is going on? Something was very wrong here. The restaurant is behaving like like they will be turning the lights out soon and can't afford A/C? Really cutting costs to stay in business? But I hope not because I really like the Salmon here, but I am not going to be able to return for a while because I am concerned about all the flies. One fly OK, but not the amount of flies they had in that place. Those leaves outside on the patio generate flies and bugs, so it's important to keep the restaurant doors closed at all times and A/C on when hot. They do have a fly zapper inside, but it was not doing the job or overwhelmed? Sorry to report this debacle.
Love this place! Irvine hidden gem! They have a vast and tasteful menu. The staff are very polite and welcoming and they have a ton of daily specials and events. Checks all the boxes whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a place to lounge and eat / drink
OC Fish Grill Great Food & Jazz A couple of month's ago a friend turned me onto the O C Fish Grill. Since then, Eve & I have been there for dinner and fantastic Jazz every Friday night from 7:00 to 9:30. Generally the musicians are a quintet consisting of keyboard, bass,(upright or guitar or both), drums, sax and trumpet. Often there are guest artists sitting in with other instruments and vocalists. They have been playing this gig for more than six years. The leader of the group is Karim Yengsep, DMA, of the SoCalJazz Collective and Academy in Lake Forest, teaching Jazz techniques and instruments to all ages and abilities. If you wish to develop or increase your musical skills, I just searched for SoCal Jazz Academy. Click on SoCal Jazz Academy. There are other listings that have expired. The food is very good, with generous portions and is inexpensive. The most expensive item on the menu is $27.00. We have ordered the Fish & Chips for me and various Tapas/Tacos for Eve. The 3 Fish portions with my order were the largest I have ever seen. The three ladies at the table next to us ordered a single Fish & Chips, dividing the meal portions equally amongst themselves. Last week we decided to have the Grilled Salmon Salad w/ Mixed Greens, tomatoes, daikon sprouts, gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, cranberries, and red onions, with our usual glass of wine. We have occasionally ordered the $4.00 side salad. It is large delicious and can easily be shared. For non fish diners, there is a variety of chicken dinners. My personal favorite is the $19.00 Grilled Chicken Salad with the same salad Ingredients as the Grilled Salmon dinner. We haven't tried the Citrus Salad with Grilled Chicken yet, but it looks interesting. The dessert menu is varied and has a middle eastern flavor as well as chocolate items. The drink menu includes nice choices of wine, beer, coffee based lattes etc, teas, various soft drinks. Go on line O C Fish Grill and check the menu. The address is 5789 Alton Parkway, Irvine, (949) 988-7002 in the Oak Creek Shopping Center. Drive straight down the 405 South to the Jeffery/University off ramp, turn left to Alton, (the Citibank on the SE corner,) go through the light and turn right at the first driveway, proceed to the far south-west end of the parking lot. I was surprised how light the south bound traffic was, 60-75 MPH most of the way to Jeffery. The north bound traffic was a mess. It is best to try to arrive around 6:30.
If you're trying to eat healthy, OC Fish Grill is a decent choice. It's counter service, with indoor and outdoor seating on their large patio. OC Fish Grill has a Taco Tuesday, where three tacos are $12. Tacos are normally $5-$7 each, so this is a deal! The tacos all have to be the same and you can choose from chicken, whitefish, shrimp and salmon. I would recommend the salmon over the shrimp, as the salmon tacos are quite large compared to the shrimp - a much better bang for your buck! They also offer the same three taco price during Happy Hour. I've also ordered the grilled tilapia, which comes with two sides. Their brussels sprouts are good but they go a little overboard on the balsamic vinegar. Plenty of parking in the lot.
I got the grilled salmon plate and was pleasantly surprised by how much fish came with it. Typically, when I go out to eat--especially for salmon dishes--they give you only a tiny piece. But this place gave two decently sized pieces, which was very filling, especially for the price I paid. The taste wasn't too strong, which I liked. It was just lightly seasoned, so it was pretty good as is. The veggies that came with it were grilled--I chose the Brussels sprouts. Overall, everything was pretty good, and this is exactly the type of dinner I usually go for. I was surprised the place was so empty, considering how good the food is. I'm definitely coming back to try some of the other dishes.
The location is great and very accessible, unfortunately, my ahi tuna was SEVERELY overcooked and dry as a bone. I had ordered extra Cajun sauce which I never got and it was very hard to try and get the attention of a worker. I had previously tried the fish and chips and they were great with a fantastic portion size but this time it was just not a good experience.
Located next to I Can Barbecue in the Gelson's plaza, there is plenty of parking and lots of outdoor patio seating. Staff were friendly and attentive, and food was fresh and delicious. I loved the open air concept with hanging grape vines overhead. With happy hour wine & beer for $6 a glass, it's definitely a serene way to relax and wind down after a busy day! My only complaint would be that the coconut shrimp were a bit on the over-cooked side. I didn't bring it up to the staff because it wasn't a big deal. Will be back! read more
First time ordering from here and wanted to try out their tacos. We got 4 x Battered Fish Tacos, 2 x Battered Shrimp Tacos, and 2 x Grilled Salmon Tacos. I've tried the battered shrimp and fish and they were both good. Pretty good size for a $6.50/$7.5 tacos but the shrimp was seasoned a bit too salty. Overall a decent experience and delicious food. I'd try this place again for their other dishes on the menu. read more

Decided to eat here on a Friday night with my sister and our boyfriends. We got here around 5pm so it was still happy hour which is from 3pm-6pm. The whole outdoor patio is decorative with lights, vines, heat lamps and fireplaces. It creates such a cute ambiance for a date night. You should also come early on Friday nights because they have live jazz playing. OC Fish Grill is like another variation of California Fish Grill. They have similar items like various grilled/fried fish plates, soups, salads, bowls and tacos. I liked how they have lots of side options too like Brussels sprouts, corn, zucchini, eggplant, rice, quinoa, and sweet potato/French fries. There was so many good options but my boyfriend and I decided try the Grilled Catfish Plate and the Battered Fish Tacos. They also serve beer and wine and had a dessert display of cakes if you're craving anything sweet afterwards. I also liked how they had cucumber or lemon water to chose from to drink which was something different. Grilled Catfish Plate (5/5): When you eat the catfish you can taste the charcoal from the grill. The catfish is also not dry and soft. We dipped it in their cajun butter which is so bomb! We also got rice and zucchini as sides and it was good as well. Battered Fish Tacos (5/5): During happy hour these tacos were only $9- a dollar discount from the usual price. I loved how crispy the fish was and everything on top like the cabbage, pickled onions, white sauce, onions and tomatoes) complimented each other so well. The tortilla was also super yummy too. I absolutely love this place. I tend to eat low carb meals and they have a great selection to choose from where I can eat meals without spiking by blood sugar to all hell. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a cute vineyard vibe outdoors and beach theme indoors. The real winner is their happy hour. They have lots of options to select from at really cheap prices. Their service is great and even during their busiest hours they take the time to make sure they have your order right and that you are happy. If you are craving fresh fish, try out OC fish grilled. It's cheaper and tastier than other Grilled Fish locations I have visited. read more

Came on a Friday evening and most of the patio tables were reserved because they had live music later that night. Since we were only two, we found a table. Got the grilled shrimp tacos with grilled eggplant and corn. The tacos were really spicy, a tad too much for my taste. The corn was good but the eggplant was lukewarm, sort of tasteless, and very tough to cut. My friend had the fish and chips and she loved it. Big pieces of fish, hot and crispy. I will come back and try something else off their menu. For me, my meal was just sort of ok. read more
We went there on my daughter's graduation dinner... Just one word 'Amazing' .... We placed the order at the counter and it was served to us at the table... we ordered 2 servings of breaded shrimps and French fries as starters followed by 2 servings of jambalaya shrimp bowls and a Thai shrimp bowl.. the jambalaya was similar to a fajita bowl... loaded with lots of bell peppers, onions, shrimps,brown rice seasoned with spicy sauce... Thai shrimp bowl was citrusy and tropical... it had tangerine slices, Thai herbs etc We loved the whole vibe at the restaurant... The service was on point... we were served within few minutes after placing our order... their outdoor seating was cozy and spacious... the jazz music and the cool weather was a cherry on the top.. they play every Saturday 7pm to 9:30 pm... this was our second outing here and I would say it doesn't fail to impress... definitely gonna come back again... read more

Ambiance is really nice and cozy. Food is good. A bit greasy on the fish and chips and not sure why. Still ate it all though haha. I wish they made Fresh fries instead of reheating frozen ones. It's not difficult to provide Fresh food on sides that are so basic yet conveniently overlooked. Service has the personality of a fart. Gal at the counter just stands there staring at you and waits for You to start the conversation then wants a tip. The guys working there are as enthusiastic as a torn ACL. That's not how this works. Here's a tip: You can do better. Be better. Now the ketchup packs...you have the Fold of Honor on your provided condiments. Do you have a reason for this particular pack and do you know what the program does for families of fallen Veterans? I sure hope you do and if you don't then you should. It's an amazing program that helps Veterans families that are left behind. I'd like to see more of this! read more

Our go to place for fish n chips and similar food items. The service and food are good! But what I like most is their outdoor ambience (both day and night). They have very good fish n chips and calamari with multiple sides to choose from. I recommend to go with the combo (battered fish plus shrimp or calamari). Their condiments are different and goes very well with the fried items. They also have happy hour 3-6pm everyday, and they are very good deals. Good amount of chicken tenders, for example, only at $7. Drinks available. Adjacent to a parking lot with many available parkings. Not busy usually. read more
Found my go to spot for some quality fish. Came here a couple weeks ago with my coworker during lunch and Seda took our order. I ordered the Barramundi Sea Bass Plate w/garlic sauce and my sides were sweet potato fries and grilled zucchini. This place has a very nice outdoor patio with water fountain accent snd vine leaves draped as shade coverings. Inside is spacious, bright with low and high tables and love their chill lounge music. Great place to dine in and relax during your lunch break. Overall, very nice set-up...I'm impressed! Not like California Fish Grill off of Barranca; small, dark and crowded; and their outdoor patio is small. Also, OC Fish Grill have desserts and it's displayed. I don't recall California Fish Grill has. I'm not sure don't quote me on this as they don't display it that's why I can't remember. I'm big on desserts. Today, I came in for lunch and this time I ordered their Taco Combo: Grilled Salmon and Battered Fish Tacos w/corn and coleslaw as my two sides. Oh boy was this so yummy!!! With pickled red onions, sauce, tomatoes, corn, and salsa on the side. Btw their water is clean, cold and tasty! I met Seda again and told her I'm bringing more friends to try this place. They are open for dining at the restaurant. They have a patio area for outdoor seating and some tables indoors. It looked like most people ate in their outdoor patio. I ordered food for takeout but ended up also eating at one of the tables outside. Staff were very friendly. I ordered the battered fish and chips with side of sweet potato fries and grilled zucchini. It was all delicious! The fish was perfectly crispy and still quite hot...tasted so good with the tartar sauce it came with. The zucchini was well seasoned...don't know how they prepare it but tasted so good to me. Sweet potato fries were like any other but they're sweet potato fries...no complaints haha Great meal. read more
Went on a Friday cuz I was in the mood for seafood. I ordered the mahi mahi sandwich with no fries and a tomato bisque soup. The girl at the register was polite but not friendly. Shortly after I sat at a table, the line got huge and the cashier worked really quickly despite having many questions from customers. The sandwich arrived, with fries, shortly after I got the soup. The soup was delicious. It had I think a few tortilla strips and cheese strips on top and the flavor was just so robust and good. The sandwich tasted fresh and the bun was so soft, although the fish had a strong "fishy" taste. The fries had Cajun seasoning and were pretty good even though I didn't really want any. The restaurant is very airy and nice with big windows and lots of natural light, as well as a large outdoor patio. Very pleasant area to have lunch with friends. They have happy hour on select appetizers and drinks (beer, wine, few cocktails) until 6pm during the week I think. If I was in the area, I would try it again. read more

Go to spot whenever I'm in OC. It is so much better than California fish grill, wish they had this in LA. The sides are so good. Best is the Brussels sprouts and they're generous with portions for all sides even the sweet potato fries. The fish is nicely cooked and good, the sides just take it to the top. Great value as well for a combo plate for under $20. It is a filling meal. They have nice outdoor and indoor seating so it's dog friendly. Outdoor is very nice ambiance with the decorations and sofas. Definitely a must visit. Parking is part of a larger plaza. Service is quick and kind. read more

This place is so neat! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and service is usually super fast. On Fridays they do live jazz although I personally haven't been I think that concept is really cool and would love to go one day! Super chill in here. Staff is always very friendly. And ohmygod let me tell you, I am OBSESSED with their salmon tacos. My ex bf introduced me to this spot forever ago and upon trying it I got their salmon tacos and fell in love. The bf is gone but the salmon tacos stayed, and honestly I prefer it that way. I recommend these tacos to everyone they're so flavorful and a really good portion for price. The combo also comes with two sides and honestly for the amount of food you get I think the price is worth it. Love love love OC Fish Grill. read more

My husband and I were in the area and decided to give this spot a try. We are so glad we did! The food was so good. Tasted fresh and good quality. We ordered the fried calamari, fried green beans, fish and chips and salmon tacos plate. The two entrees came with two sides. I tried sweet potato fries and Cole slaw, and my husband got fries and Cole slaw. The calamari was our favorite ! From the batter to the light dressing they had on it and underneath the calamari, there some type of thin shredded cucumber salad. Delicious! No complaints on any of our entrees either! I have been going to this place since they first opened. I have been there plenty of times but somehow the place changed and now they force you to get French fries. I ordered an item from the menu that says pick two sides so I tried to pick something healthy and the girl who was working the counter, told me that I had to get french fries. I did question her, and she told me that her boss had made that decision, and now you have to get french fries as one of the sides. I am attaching a picture of what I got and you can clearly see that it says two sides. Honestly, you should go to California Fish Grill right down the road which they actually do allow you to get two sides of your choice and the prices are a bit more reasonable. read more

We got the Korean bbq and the battered fish tacos with grilled eggplant, zucchini and sweet potato fries. It was delicious. There's plenty seating indoor and outdoors. Would recommend stopping here to grab a bite. read more
I have been looking for a dupe of california fish grill for a while. This place has far better quality in taste and portion! I got their salmon and swai combo with cajun. OC Fish Grill opened about 2.5 weeks ago owned by the same proprietors of I Can Barbeque Korean Grill next door. Knowing this, my expectations were high and OC Fish Grill did not disappoint. Just like the Korean Grill, they use only the finest ingredients made to tease & satisfy the palate. The menu is loaded with various ways to plate your fish: fried, grilled, tacos, salads. I ordered the Fish & Chips ($11-$12 which is pretty price competitive). The fish are HUGE, I mean either thick (3 pcs) or thin & long (4 pcs), covering about 75% of the (oval) plate The uniqueness of ordering Fish & Chips is the selection of the 2 sides. Yes, chips/fries are the traditional, but with the various sides, it makes this plate mouth watering just thinking about the different combination of sides. They are: french fries, sweet potato, brown or white rice, coleslaw, brussel sprouts, grilled zucchini, or grilled eggplant. This is just one of many ways to enjoy the fish as the main protein. Used to love California Fish Grill but I feel like their quality/portions etc have gone down hill the past couple of years. Was excited to try this place and I was pleasantly surprised. Food was seasoned well and the brussel sprouts were DELICIOUS. Definitely will be back. read more

Stopped by for lunch. Gorgeous spot with very friendly staff. Suggestions they had were delicious. They subbed out grilled shrimp for fish on the kids meal for our son (no up charge). The Thai shrimp bowl was delicious--I wish there was more sauce. The fish and chips were very yummy. I think the fish was a hair undercooked, but didn't really affect us. The addition of grilled zucchini was a big win! Next time I come I'll be sure to come by for happy hour. The happy hour menu and prices are awesome. The line up of live entertainment at night was also impressive. Eating under their large and shady patio was a perfect lunch break. I'd come back anytime for a romantic date or lunch with the ladies. read more
Reasonable prices for seafood. Well cooked proteins, not too raw and not overdone, baby bear level of just right. We ordered the grilled swai & salmon combo plate with brown rice and grilled eggplant and also the shrimp salad. Pleasantly surprised by the abundant amount of fish and shrimp. Mildly seasoned but that is my preference. The salad was tasty and well textured with candied walnuts, cranberries although kind of lacking in tomatoes and sprouts as specified on the l menu and also overdressed. Will ask for dressing on the side next time. Service is perfunctory with staff saying the absolute minimum to you required but who cares? Food is good, they bring it to you quickly. Everything appears shiny and clean, including the bathroom which is a welcome sight indeed. read more
