We were set on getting the salmon and the swordfish dishes which we did, and it did not disappoint! They were the most delicious dishes I had experienced in a long time. I asked about the seasoning on the salmon and the waitress, who was fabulous, said it was Moroccan. I loved the hint of cinnamon but according to the Moroccan spice I looked at on the web, it is a combination of numerous spices which amounts to a delicious combination of flavors. Both dishes were paired perfectly with their sides and sauces. I have never left a review about a restaurant before. This will be one of my few unforgettable meals. If dining inside, bring a sweater. They don't skimp on their air-conditioning. It was a cool night so we ate outside which was nice, but what made it nicer was our wonderful waitress, Fanika(?), who had the most awesome, helpful, outgoing personality that makes a dining experience that much better. And she was right about the coconut espresso martini. It was delicious! She also mentioned that the menus are seasonal so I am looking forward to returning to Hooked when I'm back in OC and trying other meals. I'm hooked!!

The andouille sausage added a nice layer of flavor to the dish. The spices in sausage were great throughout the flavor of mussels and broth. There were 4 fishes available for entree. I went with the Cobia. There were 4 cooking/pairing types. I selected cajun style. Blackened Cobia, andouille sausage, over dirty rice, with vegetable medley. Medley included peppers, okra, and celery. Great all around flavor. Food was overall fantastic. I will say service was a bit slow but Mrs. April was great getting things turned around. We were sat along the windows and put in a drink order. I got an old fashioned which was fine. I ordered the cream of crab soup as a starter. Soup was solid, but the flavor was pretty lacking. As my entree I went with the bleu cheese encrusted steak. I ordered it medium-well, which is what you do at a place that doesn't have steak in its name or isn't billed as a steakhouse. That way when the undercook it (as most do) it'll be the preferred medium temp. Anyway, the steak came out and WAS NOT encrusted. The potatoes that were served with it were very good but undercooked and slimy. The vegetables looked just forced and were thrown on the plate to add color not flavor. Our waitress Devin was nice, but she could tell the kitchen wasn't providing a good meal. We skipped dinner and went to Dumser's. Meh - wouldn't go back.

The cream of crab continues to cement its place as the top 2 cream of crab soups in and around OC. I went with the longboard burger as my meal - served with pasta salad. Really like the pasta salad as a side being different. The burger was pretty skimpy on the special sauce that came with it, but I asked for a side of bleu cheese which was good. The bartender who served us was a younger guy with a beard and longer hair - very friendly and attentive to everyone. Again - nice chill vibe here - cool little built-in market area and a cool design.
