Love this place! Been eating here for the better part of 2 decades. Food is always good and have not been disappointed yet. This is not just a place for sushi! Their fried rice, stir fried noodles and other cooked items are also delicious! And don't forget e desserts!!! I think they have done a great job with three take out and curb side pick up due to the corona virus. Whenever In OC, please try to eat here at least once! We were already full from the fantastic miso soup, shumai, seaweed salad, and Chef's choice sushi, but when we saw a neighboring table served fried rice and the server then explained to us their speciality of Maryland fried rice with the added remark, "hard to believe you've been here several times before and have not tried this dish. I came here Sunday and didn't realize they had a 30% sale Sundays, which is neat. We ordered the gyoza, california roll, chicken kotsu, and chicken teriyaki. The sushi was great, but everything else was just sub-par. The chicken teriyaki was really dry and the vegetables were flavorless. Which is really surprising for a Japanese restaurant-- at least the ones I've been to in the past-- since most times you'd expect to have some kind of flavor. Then the kotsu tasted ok, but it tasted just like fried chicken, the sauce provided was similar to steak sauce as well. The vegetables included in our orders weren't even sliced. They were just huge cut pieces. 1 carrot, 1 cucumber, 1 asparagus, and 2 things of broccoli. The gyoza was fried as well, and the insides were a little undercooked. House salad was a mess, the ginger dressing was interesting and the texture was clumpy. The miso soup was good however, which was nice. In terms of atmosphere, the interior design was nice, interesting choice of color and decor. HOWEVER, there were so many FLIES!! Which is a major red flag for cleanliness of the kitchen! Definitely will not come back again and I don't recommend anyone who enjoys authentic Japanese cuisine to dine here either. It felt like an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. This experience was disappointing. The gentleman at the bar was very nice, the young woman at the hostess stand was kind as well, but who I assume is the manager was quite grumpy. Upon entering, she stepped in front of the hostess stand and simply looked at us rudely. Food was alright, tables were sticky, ambiance was very noisy as cars in this area tend to accelerate aggressively, letting their exhaust drown out any and all conversations at the table. Based on the reviews we decided to stop by for dinner. Didn't make a reservation but we got to sit outside which was nice. We ordered the miso soup which was delicious. We also ordered sushi rolls - two basic ones - cucumber and spicy tuna . And we ordered two specialty rolls - the Lemon roll and the Baked Phatty Jay. The Lemon was very refreshing. The Phatty was like eating comfort food. I truly don't know which one I liked better. Glad we stopped here for dinner. We will definitely be back. read more

Was craving some sushi while in Ocean City and decided to check this place. The restaurant was very confusing because they had about 2-3 doors. The first door we passed said they opened at 4 pm. We got there around 3:45 pm so decided to walk further down the street to explore. On the way back, we encountered a different door that said they opened beginning at noon. While sitting inside the restaurant, we saw many patrons trying to open a locked door. It would be helpful they had signs on the locked door directing them to the correct door. We ordered a couple of drinks: huckleberry lemonade and the stoned mule. Both were delicious but they were consistent in the amount of alcohol they put in them. My friend tried my stoned mule and liked it so ordered one for herself. Mine was just right but hers just tasted like straight liquor and was really strong. We ordered the G-Money roll, Dragon roll, spicy salmon, shrimp tempura and yellowtail. All of them were fresh and delicious. Service and staff on point, friendly and good. Sushi. No bueno, rice is mushy and bland they don't even add wasabi to the nigiri like tradition. Maybe catering to their clienteles taste buds. The raw fish was also not cleanly cut so maybe not actual trained sushi chef but just restaurant chefs or something. So far haven't had much luck finding good sushi in these beach towns. There's a lot to like about OC Wasabi. The sushi is fresh and prepared well. There's quite a few options and the staff are friendly and engaging. I ordered the Ocean's Sushi Delux which had 10 pieces of nagiri sushi and they were nice enough to sub-out the California roll for salmon roll, which I greatly prefer. My wife had the dynamite roll and fried rice and genuinely enjoyed both. My two critiques: prices are about 40% higher than what we pay back home in Baltimore. I understand things are expensive here, but a 50% mark up is very steep. Second, the miso soup was terrible and We could not eat it. They actually forgot to pack it in our to-go order and I had to walk back to get it, so it was disappointing that it was not edible. It was entirely too salty, as if someone dropped a whole shaker of salt in it. Apart from these two things it was a fun experience. Came here for date night and had a very good experience, we usually order to go but tonight we ate on the front patio. We called ahead just to make sure they allow pets because we had our little chihuahua and our friends had their lab puppy. After being turned away from an old favorite right down the street that no longer allows pets, we were a little bummed, but the lady on the phone sounded happy to tell us they don't mind pets and the outdoor bench seat is dog friendly. We got a California roll, a cucumber roll and a few other things off the sushi menu as well as a serving of shrimp fried rice to share. Ended the night off with their fried ice cream (which i highly recommend). All around we had a great night. We sat down and waited 10 mins before anyone asked us what we wanted to drink. Our waiter/waitress did I not take our order for another 20 mins. We were hungry so we stayed, wish we did not. The food came and the sushi was not cold, the fish was cut so tiny, and the rolls we small. You get 6 pieces and some you get 8. The pieces are cut so small. This has to be the single worst $ I have spent and I will not be going back. Here is how small the rolls are, mind you this is a ichiban roll. We have been coming here for years. When my sister-in-law used to live in Ocean City, this was her favorite sushi restaurant and she soon convinced us that it is the best in the area. The fish is always high-quality and well prepared. The rolls vary from more simple selections to dramatic and unique flavor combinations. They have a selection of warm entrées and appetizers as well that never disappoint. The miso soup is not the best I've ever had, but certainly better than the usual miso you get at most sushi restaurants on the East Coast. The love boat is a bit oddly proportioned. For two people it is rather too much food. Interestingly the king boat, designed for four people, is perfectly proportioned. The house salad is amazing... Not because it includes any particularly outstanding selection of vegetables, but rather because the house ginger dressing is exquisite. Not too tangy, but certainly not bland. I'm so beyond grateful that this restaurant exists. It's so close to the beachfront, which makes it a perfect pick for when you're craving some fresh sushi by the beach. Though this restaurant is less casual, they were kind enough to make exceptions to the "no shirt, no service" policy you see so often at nice restaurants by the beach.
