I was looking for an HVAC part and needed it before the heatwave started since all the HVAC repair folks where completely booked. The prices were reasonable. Most of the parts I found on Amazon did not offer Prime and would take forever to ship so it was worth the $5 dollar difference. The brand was also better than the generic brands found online. I dont know why I havent wrote a review on this company before. This was the fourth time I used them for parts. I am a home owner who can fix my own appliances but need to run down the parts. These guys have always been respectful of my limited knowledge of what I am doing and have had the parts 3 of the four times. When they didnt have the part it took only one day. It never fails, a dryer breaks down while I am drying my work clothes 20 minutes before having to be at work. Ok, a fan worked for that little emergency, but not too many wives would marvel at even the most ingenious clothes drying method using fans, they want their dryer fixed yesterday!!! I went to OCAP Supply on a Saturday before work, in a hurry, and still had to go home and dry ANOTHER set of work clothes. When I arrived at OCAP Supply I was greeted politely immediately upon walking in by an employee named Joe. He quickly retrieved the part I needed and saved me money by testing my thermal fuse for me which turned out to be OK. I was on my way within 5-minutes during which time Joe gave me tips on what to check if the parts did not restore heat to the dryer. I never felt like an idiot who should have called a reputable repair service, rather, Joe and fellow crew made me feel welcome and the banter was friendly and supportive of my challenge to fix the dryer. They are such pros that they recognized the parts I brought in and had the new parts in stock. This is the second time I have been there in two years for the same dryer and with a resource like OCAP Supply, I will continue to keep my 25 year old Maytag running as long as humanly possible. OCAP Supply is not only a great appliance supply business, the level of service is how every business should run regardless of what product or service they sell. The employees get it, they know the value of good service and they put that knowledge to use, seemingly a lost art in this modern economy where most employees are bitter, rude, patronizing, and uncaring. My hat is off to them. As a follow up, I got the parts installed, almost, as I shattered the igniter I bought from them just yesterdy, but, it was my own fault for being a little sausage fingered and was too rough with the fragile part. Although the staff is very knowledgeable, I have ordered the same part from OCAP twice. It's for my Whirlpool Duet dryer. For the sake of convenience and needing to get the dryer repaired today, I was committed to purchasing the part from OCAP at a cost of $39.31(excluding taxes); however, I discovered that the very same part (WP4392067) was available online at ApplianceZone.net for $17.50 and $6.95 for 3 day shipping. I showed the counterman the online price and asked if he'd be able to lower the cost to something more in line with the competition, but unfortunately he couldn't "because of all the overhead they have." From the looks of it, there's a substantial markup on this product at OCAP, perhaps they might want to review their costs with what the competitors are doing. read more

Called looking for a control module for a furnace. I was told that they would ONLY sell this to a contractor; as directed by "the Boss" per the flunkie on the phone. In other words, this Jack@$$ is in a calculated and specific manner supporting HVAC guys who charge $600+ to replace this part. A board which consists of two Molex type plugs and 8 or 10 spade lug connections, and a handful of screw terminals for the thermostat. A simple fix that would take anyone with a modicum of ability 15 minutes to install and can be found anywhere from $85 to $140 online from Amazon and others. If I didn't know what I was doing, I wouldn't have found him and be on the phone with him to begin with! I was looking to support local business, but this A-Hole can BITE ME! GO AMAZON! PUT THESE PUKES OUT OF BUSINESS!!! For the record... I have the part on the way for $105 including two day shipping. Needed to change out my dad's malfunctioning gas valve (for a Carrier CHU). I not only had the original part number, I had a series of 5 replacement model numbers from White-Rodgers, Robertshaw and Honeywell... All of these models are verified by the manufacturers as direct/appropriate replacements. The guy refused to assist unless I brought the part in... Wouldn't even tell me if they had stock. His final word was that he wouldn't do anything unless I brought the part in. So... My 86-year old dad and 90-year old (bedridden) mother would have to go a full day without heat while I drove all the way there, uninstalled it, took it to their location (not even knowing if they had a suitable replacement) and then returning to either reinstall the old one (with a touchy solenoid) or install the replacement. This is where the impersonal big-box distributors (like HD Supply) win. They answered me, they have it and it is being overnighted to my folks home. They won't have heat for minutes, not hours, and that's all. Save yourself the hassle, any business that is so disrespectful of its clientele does not want your business. Oh, they'll take your money but don't confuse that with service. One could only speculate that they've got a trash replacement part or items pulled from old heaters. At first I was extremely pleased to find that they had the part that I needed, but after buying and attempting to install the part, it still led to the same error code on my washing machine which let me to buying a new washing machine AND this place wouldn't take the part back because it was an electric part ... I called them only a few days after purchasing it telling them my situation but they said they couldn't take it back and give me a refund. I ending up selling the part on eBay and the person I sold it to said they had 2 different tech people come out on 2 consecutive days both times telling her that the part was defective. I'm stuck with a part that cost more than $100 and they won't take it back. Now I am now refunding the eBay purchaser and telling her to keep the bad part. What am I going to do with it? This place has bad policies ... Today I again explained the situation to someone else there, but they held their position... Customer service doesn't seem to be a priority to them. I'll bet if I was a tech person that fixed appliances for a living and ran into a lemon like I did with this pump, they would have offered a refund. I recently had to replace a blower fan motor in a heater unit. I first went to Granger's thinking they would have it. Not only did they not have the part, the staff didn't have a clue of any replacements. 3rd strike there....so, you know what that means. I called many places trying to find a motor replacement. JK electronics recommended me to go over to see the people over at OCAP supply. Wow so very impressed. I've been having issues with my Samsung refrigerator. I brought in my circuitboard and told him my issues. The gentleman behind the desk said that he was not sure, what was going on with my fridge and he needed a coworker to come over to help me. The gentleman told me that the circuitboard I had was wrong and he could sell me the one he thinks that would make the refrigerator work. But I could not return it if it did not work. So he referred me to a site on the Internet for the circuitboard and I could actually return it if it didn't work. Wow how honest and so very helpful, and he didn't have to go out of his way to do all this for me. From now on if I have any issues with my fridge and I cannot figure it out I am going to be going to OCAP supply, for help from on. No one on the Internet anywhere wanted to help me solve the problem. I was frustrated and discouraged because on the Internet they want you to pay money for them to tell you what's wrong. I didn't go on the Internet to pay money I went on the Internet to figure out what was wrong with my fridge. Wanted to say what a great job Brian did providing me service. I called first to check part availability, he quickly found it and explained it comes with or without a connector. He said he if I brought in the original part in that he would splice the connector to the new ignitor for free. I arrived, the part was found immediately and he installed the connector. If you are remotely handy person, can use the Internet and don't want to pay crazy prices to an appliance repair company - these are the people to see. DUDE!!! This is a team of people that are AWESOME!. Over the phone, ALEX was great in helping me. He was the first of two people to actually provide me with a choice of alternate parts with part numbers. I had been looking for one part being told that it would take a week to special deliver. When the alternate was presented by Alex, it was in stock with them. Being a husband and father of 3, I was trying to save our family the expense of having someone fix out fridge. I was unsure as to what of the two parts I thought were the problem would need to be replaced. Alex stated that there was an employee that could test it. MANNY, who was being referred to was helpful and insightful in showing me how to test the two parts I brought it. He also took the time to explain to me how to look for and test a few other parts of my fridge for the problem, since it was not in either of the two I brought. It was a mini-lesson as to what to look for that would be causing my problem. Well, suffice it to say, their help and direction helped me isolate the problem. And with the purchase of some tools and equipment, I was able to fix my fridge for under $50. The point of this review was to compliment and comment on the fine and exceptional service and efforts on the part of the whole team. I was greeted with a smile, given a mini-lesson without any condescending tone or attitude, and was gladly invited back to try and solve the problem together. I would like more locations to be as open to helping a customer as this company is; that the interaction of the employees with the customers not be sales based ($$$), but rather help the customer and make them happy... with whatever they may need or be asking about. Just for the shear experience alone, I would be recommending OCAP Supply to anyone who mentions they are having problems with their fridge, or other major household appliance. And to the owner TOMMY, You have a great team there. There is a positive and welcoming atmosphere in your store. I don't generally do reviews so read this for what it's worth. Sure, I could have saved a few bucks ordering a part online, but this isn't rocket science to change an ignitor on a dryer. It's nice to know there is at least one place in OC and particularly in my home town of Garden Grove that has the appliance parts I need and the customer service I need. I read one review that was negative about their customer service. This isn't a chain of stores. It's a well established small business that caters to working professionals and do-it-yourselfers like me. You go in, tell them what you want and you get it. No waiting days for some delivery while your appliance sits and the money I saved doing it myself is worth not paying some repair guy to charge me $100 for a repair that consisted of 4 screws, one nut and a wiring connector. This is the worst business I have ever seen. I bought one of the gas valve and tried to replace old valve. The heater itself works perfectly well except the gas valve was broken. Before I got the item, I made sure that the sale man has the right part for me. When gave me the part, the sale man guaranteed that his valve will be able to fix the problem and will work for my furnace. After I installed the valve, the problem was not resolved and the furnace does not work due to the part does not fit for the problem. I came back to the store and asked for help to exchange for the right item. Instead of helping, the two customer service staffs, one man named Tim and the other blond lady whom I don't even know the name. They were very rude.... Refused to exchange...They blamed the entire problem on us... THEY SAID IF I BOUGHT ANY THING AND IT DOES NOT WORK, THAT IS MY PROBLEM AND NOT THEIRS. They refused to exchange or refund does not matter what. I asked to see their manager, they excused that he does not work on Saturday and only he is only available on Monday. Customer, please be aware!!! If you buy part from here, you will never able to return or exchange if the item does not work. They never post the sign in front of the door or any where in their business. read more

I received such awesome service from OCAP staff the last time I had an issue with my dryer, I returned today and was treated just as terrific as the first time. The staff really, truly cares about helping their customers with their appliance part needs. I actually feel like part of a family each time I visit. Today Vicki greeted me with a warm smile and asked how she could assist me, I told Vicki I had brought the two parts I believed to be causing the issue. Vicki immediately requested the parts and checked them both to ensure they were working properly. Vicki determined and confirmed one of the parts was in fact faulty. I told Vicki to sell me the other part too which was working properly as many parts seem to go out at about the same time. A truly terrible experience with OCAP. I called them looking for a gas valve for my furnace. I gave the Manager (Josh, Manny, not sure) the broken valve part number. He went and searched and gave me a replacement part product and number, as mine was no longer available. I thanked him, and said I would be by to get it. I then checked online for the serial number of the new part he gave me, and it did not match what was needed for the correct part to use for my broken gas valve. I called back to have them confirm the part was indeed the correct one their Manager said I should buy (a $250 part), and this is where things went extremely bad. -- The Manager got on the phone and was a total jerk right out of the gate, for some reason, he didn't want to check the number again to confirm it was the correct/incorrect part, he didn't want to order a part (if it was needed) he actually said go buy it some where else, was extremely rude, argumentative and then hung up on me. What? I would be fired in a heart beat if I treated a customer like that. If I was the owner of this business that Manager would be out the door before he could blink. Seriously, what makes a person treat customers that way? Bad day? Crappy life? Whatever it was, he shouldn't be the Manager, and should never be dealing with customers. Do yourself a favor, and do what he says.. take your business elsewhere. read more

I went to them at first because they offered to test some parts for my refrigerator. They, a lady and two young men were very friendly upon my arrival and tested the parts. The parts were good and then they graciously offered additional troubleshooting options to identify the issue. I returned with the culprit circuit board a week later to see if they could test it and order the part if need be.. Unfortunately they were unable to check it, but again out of this world customer service. The young man at the counter researched where I could get it off the net quicker and ultimately cheaper. The owner was nearby and I am sure by his demeanor he wasn't "thrilled" about his employee sending me somewhere else. In exchange for this great CUSTOMER service(you don't get this level of service anymore) They may not have gotten the sale this time, but I now know where to go when I need an appliance part and ANYBODY who I know needs something that they provide, I will enthusiastically direct them to OCAP.
