I thought this place would be a good spot for me and my friends, but I won't be going back. After visiting multiple times, I regret bringing my friends there. The first time I ordered razor clams, I got 8 pieces. The next time, it was only 4, and by the third time, just 2. They weren't bigger or better either. It felt like a joke. The skewers were overcooked, not fresh, and tasted like rubber. Restaurants like this probably won't last long, especially when they don't care about quality, consistency or transparency. The location isn't great, and the reputation is declining. I wouldn't be surprised if a new restaurant takes its place soon. read more

Beautiful service performed by the hosts and the staff. A large portion that's insane quality for the low price as well. One of our orders was forgotten by the staff (due to us coming near closing time), but the manager personally apologized to us and provided us the drink on the house. vietnamese spot close to chinatown! i was excited to try this place mainly because they offered snails. it is on the pricier side, the total bill coming out to around $71 including tip. my boyfriend thought the pho was just meh and i felt the same about the bun thit nuong. i would go elsewhere for those. however, it isn't bad for the area and the portions are large. we did like the vietnamese coffee and the razor clams. the interior is nicely decorated and there are plenty of tables. the service was average and there is free parking. i would come back to try more of their seafood dishes! read more

This is SUCH a great place! We had the spicy clams which were so tender and delicious! We also had the chicken cartilage which were crunchy and scrumptious. We also ordered the fish sauce chicken wings which were sticky and crispy pieces of yumminess!! Lastly we got the bun thit which was also fantastic! The place was nice with a small parking lot. Table was reserved but we still had to wait 10-15 min to be seated. Once seated, ask for hot tea. Tea was lukewarm. Even my faucet was hotter than their tea. Service was decent, pho is good but there are better. I came for the oyster with scallion oil, it was GOOD!! The sauce that goes on it, was on the money.!The last oyster that I ate was bad though. Maybe, it was a fluke but OMG, the smell was horrendous and the taste was worse. I had no choice but to spit it out. Once, I spit it out , I place the plate with the bad oyster to the side and it still smell. It smell like feces during the summer. So beware when you come across the oyster, if it smells like baby's diaper had done number 2, toss it out. Overall, not a bad place to enjoy with family. read more

What an amazing find. I love Vietnamese food, specially the famous Pho. On our drive to Chinatown we saw this place and we decided to pay a visit. My gosh it was one of the best Vietnamese foods in Chicago. Even better than the one in Chinatown. They have lots of seafood dishes and of course the classics. We had their house special pho with all three meats in it. You don't need to add any sauces, the broth itself tastes so good by itself. We also ordered a can sugar drink and Thai ice tea. Both equally delicious. Since we were in a hurry we couldn't try more of their dishes, but we will definitely be back to try more. The service was fast and all the waiters and host were so nice and accommodating. They have amazing costumer service here. Now the place is an absolute dream. Ocean Grill is the best new "hidden" gem in Chinatown. Located on the outside of Chinatown, it's in a very unsuspecting location but when you know how good it is, you know! As soon as you walk in the restaraunt is large, clean and inviting. My girlfriend and I came on a Sunday for lunch and man that shit hit so hard! It was soooo Sap!! (Delicious in Lao) When we got seated there were only 3 tables filled, but by the time we finished our food, the restaraunt was filled to the T! We got the wings, pho ga, and pho with brisket and tendon. Also currently, if you "check in" on Yelp you will receive a free egg roll appetizer . Side note, if you're driving, you shouldn't have an issue finding parking because this establishment has its own lot. Sadly we didn't get to try any of their seafood but my girlfriend and I can't wait to go back and try new items! Also you have to try the green Kumquat juice it is amazing! read more

First of all a great big shout out to Ricky and Patrick, thank you guys!!! Booked a Bday party here for my wife's 50th. She didn't want to make it a big deal but we just had to do something fun with the family and some close friends. I went in about 10 days prior and spoke to Patrick who set the reservation and took my number. Couple days later, the manager, Ricky contacts me and we go over details. With his guidance we went with appetizer trays and the guests would order a la carte. I expected 20 ppl and he reserved a section of the dining room with two large tables that could accommodate up to 30 ppl. On the day of the event, we dropped off our cake in advance and everyone showed up on time. The appetizer trays were in their warmers/coolers and ready! We had spring rolls, egg rolls, marinated chicken wings, pork skewers, veggie egg rolls and sesame balls. All were fantastic. Some of these I would never have tried on my own. Our guests were very impressed. When it came time to order, I went with the classic pork chop, egg meatloaf and rice, my wife went with the pho noodles, snails with garlic sauce and the shrimp fried rice was also at our table. I don't think they missed a beat on any of it. The pho noodle bowls are huge. If I had to guess, the volume of the bowl was in excess of two quarts of delicious beef, tendon and rare beef. Definitely shareable or packable. The shrimp fried rice was not the typical one that you get in asian restaurants. The shrimp are large and plentiful, the rice is seasoned and has a greenish tint from the herbs used. Some of our guests ordered the lobster vermicelli which also looked phenomenal, no small portions here. Everyone remarked at how much they enjoyed the food, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the servers' attentiveness and the uniqueness of the experience. Basically, there was no pressure to order by a certain time or a feeling that you're rushed to completed your meal. Our guests felt very comfortable and I heard many times that the bathrooms were very luxurious! Overall, this is now my favorite Chinatown spot both for lunch and dinner. I'd only been here once previously, after Sunday services and that was also a very pleasant experience. We will most definitely be back and hope to have Ocean Grill and Bar host more of our important family events. read more
