I've now ordered DoorDash and went in twice each. I didn't realize they sold things other than food until this previous time... Last time I went in was one day prior to this updated review. When I tell you this is just another non black business trying to make a buck in the "urban" area; that's EXACTLY what it is. To try to nickle and dime me for COCKTAIL sauce is ridiculous. I've ordered the shrimp plate 3 TIMES in the last 3 weeks - I know EXACTLY how many cocktail sauces I will need for my eating experience. They were only willing to give me 2 this time and proceeded to tell me the cocktail sauce is .75 a piece after. Once he realized I left him a 5 star review he then wants to give me an extra one. When I ordered DoorDash 1 weeks ago I was given 6. So what's the difference between me coming into this place and DoorDash outside of the fees + tip I'll tell you! The fact that if you don't call in you WILL be waiting 30+ minutes and in that 30 minutes what you see in there is actually criminal activity. I should NOT see a man come in with a white dirty torn trash bag handing the cashier unopened items through the pay/food window. I'm talking car freshener plugs, and other miscellaneous things. Remember I said I didn't realize they sold things OTHER THAN FOOD BEFORE. Stolen items. Allegedly. The icing on the cake was I was standing there minding my business and then the cook told that same man shoving items through the window to "fabreeze the place" so the man goes to the front door and sprays it everywhere... In my original review I said this place ain't that big! I ended up walking out until my food was ready only to come back to this man trying to nickle and dime me over cocktail sauce. AND the food this time was lackluster than the last 3. This is a DoorDash ONLY establishment and only if you like supporting non black people coming into the community to send their kids far away from you & your kind. I said it, and I am firm on it. There's no shortage of fish and chicken places on DoorDash and I've tried quite a few of them so I landed here as the one I hadn't ordered from yet. I have been highly satisfied with their food for both its freshness and flavor. The catfish has a good flavor and is always fried crisp enough. I found the price to be reasonable for 2 pieces and plenty of fries at $8.99. One feature that they should add, is being able to add a piece of fish to the meal. Since it's only an up-charge of $0.99 for cheese fries, there's no resisting that. They are some of the tastiest I've had. They do add jalapenos with them which adds a delicious kick, but with all of the cheese, it's not too spicy. Other things I've tried are the chicken and steak philly sandwiches. There is plenty of meat and they are decent but could use more seasoning. The shrimp is also good. I have ordered from here several times now and recommend giving them a try. read more

It's your typical neighborhood spot. The chicken or fish batter lacks seasoning; they simply sprinkle lemon pepper on top. However, everything is usually served hot, fresh, and at a reasonable price. If you're craving something greasy and fried, this is the place for you. read more

We had a big event, order fish and chicken the day before. Paid for the order the day before and the day to pick up our order at the time requested to be ready, we had to wait an extra 30min. There was no compensation either, the order was over $200. My advice if you cannot handle a large order do not do them. Accommodate the customer if you are late with their order especially when you got the payment the day before. Do better! Not a happy customer! read more

If you live near this place or are regularly in the Forest Park area, Ocean Grill STL is a no brainier. If you haven't tried it and you like simple grilled/fried food, get over there right now. You won't regret it. The prices are ridiculously cheap, the portions ridiculously large, and the staff ridiculously friendly. On our first trip we had a Fried Fish Plate (w/fries) and a Gyro (w/fries) plus a drink all for ~$15. Both dishes were incredibly tasty and filling, I'm already checking out the menu to see what I'll try next time. Maybe the burger. Because it's a fresh cooked burger with fries for $6!!! Unreal. In any case, you should be aware that this place is take-out only and you will have to find nearby street parking which can be a pain. But if you want a hearty (if not healthy) meal to go, it would be hard to do better than Ocean Grill STL. read more

Friday night, Restaurant Week in Clayton. The place was packed. Over and over they produce. Good seafood is hard to pump out continually but they do. Always greeted by the owner, always a hand shake. It makes a difference. In a tough business filled with imitators, ownership is always front and center here, as it should be. Our table of six ordered from two pre fixed offerings. Salads were more than expected. Breads and oils spot on. Trout prepared perfectly, salmon, sea bass with risotto. I watched the line cooks, an open kitchen concept lends itself to easy view. They worked in unison throughout the night. An expeditor organized and the "all hands on deck" approach to table delivery was flawless. It was a pleasure to watch. The atmosphere, the food, some good wine and a great view of the kitchen left me more than satisfied. Great job guys. That's why we always come back. read more

Stopped in on my way to doc appointment, it's a small location nothing major. The young lady who took my order was polite as well as multi tasking. It didn't take long for my order to ready, was not busy. I ordered the veggie burger that comes with fries. It tasted good and didn't upset my stomach (since my 1st time). The only thing that was a surprise was that it was bread bread not a hamburger bun otherwise thumbs up! I will come back because they have other stuff I wanna try. read more

I have ordered many Philly cheese steaks and wings. Very good every time. The fries are great and the cheese sauce they use (if you get cheese fries) is very spicy the way I like it. Have had the steak as well and it was good for the price I paid. I haven't had a bad experience yet (been here over a dozen times). I read the review of the "drug deal" guys, but it's right outside of a metro link stop so there is usually security in the vicinity. I love this place and recommend you check it out if you are looking for fried/fast food. read more

I've heard the good here is really good so we decided to check it out. We pulled into a parking lot across the street and had to drive around two cars that had pulled up beside each other. The guys were doing something that looked like a drug deal but we thought we'd let it go. We got parked and saw two more groups who were clearly doing drug deals or something shady. We didn't even get out of the car at that point. We got away from there and found another option. I don't care how good the food might be, none of us felt safe. We've been in areas that may not look the best but didn't seem unsafe. This wasn't one of those. This was on a bright Sunday afternoon and we still didn't think it was the place to be. This is place is one of those hidden gems. I see people from all over the town come to this small place and finally decided to give it a try. The fries, SOO GOOD it's almost like they are double fried to get an even crispier coating. I ordered two Lamb Gyros and they were TO DIE for. The special sauce was delicious. I would stay away from the onion rings though, they get soggy quick, go with the fries not both. There is also no seating in the waiting area so you're kinda just standing with the other people waiting like bears to see who's food gets called on first. read more

This place is a diner with standard diner fair like burgers and all-day breakfast. They have lots of variety on their menu including gyros with authentic gyro meat, tripe sandwiches, lots of wings, and a kids menu. Prices are right and the folks running the grill are good friendly guys. read more

This is the perfect type of inexpensive, basic, take - out place (with a couple of tables if you want eat on premises) for this location. One gets unpretentious American cuisine, from $10 steaks to eggs, bacon, 'n' coffee all day. Great place to stop by on the way back from Forest Park or the Metrolink. Great restaurant for its type. This new owner is awesome, the prices for burger fries are like value meal prices 4.99 burger and fries...lol but my gosh the size of the burger, my husband and I shared it, and the fries.
