Been here 3 times since this place opened. Recently stopped by for dinner with my wife and my sister on a random Monday around 7:30pm. Place wasn't too packed, probably less than half full. We ended up getting the crispy fried chicken wings as our appetizer, the pan fried chow fun noodle with chicken and the stir fried fish filet with Chinese broccoli. The appetizer was pretty good and crispy. Chicken was well cooked. The chow fun noodle was ok as well as the stir fried fish. My complaint was that there really was not much fish on the dish. There were a couple bits but not as much as the picture looked like on their menu. Location of the spot is good since it's close to Harkins theatre but the food was ok and nothing too special. Walked in to 3 table not bussed, didn't get greeting when I entered. Finally had to wait for a table to get cleaned . Terrible service! Sat down didn't get a waiter until 20 mins later, after they took the order for a couple that came in after I did but then I sent that waiter to another 2 couples that got there before I did. Walked in on a cold day to get a warm bowl of pho. What did I get? Instead, I waited for about 10 minutes to be acknowledged and had to wait again to get at table cleaned. No biggie. So then I get the table. The lady, who I assume is the owner, tells us she will give us the big table, but if a bigger group comes she will have to move us. Wasn't too keen on the fact that she would move us when we ate. Get to the table, table is still dirty. The lady says she will get towels to dry it. Went to ocean pho for some quick fix cause I was meeting a friend. I usually go to pho ha or pho mai but it was far for the company I was seeing. Anyways, the seating area is pretty small but cozy. The staff is friendly but nothing spectacular. The prices are a bit pricier than my other go to but I decided to order the vermicelli with charbroiled pork and egg rolls. The egg rolls were pretty good but the vermicelli wasn't that good at all. The pork tasted like a weird sweet flavor and the the fish sauce was really watered down. On soft noodle dish was substituted for a crispy noodle dish. another soft noodle dish with no veggies was substituted for a no noodle dish with veggies. I liked this place. The service was wonderful. The place is small (seats like 30 people) but clean. They have password protected wifi (they'll tell you the pw if you need it). The food was good! Kinda disappointed with this pho place. My boyfriend and i love pho so we decided to stop by here and order some togo. My husband and I come once a week. We loving coming here. As soon as we walk in they know our order. We love it. We always order the pho with spring rolls. And at the end we order the honeydew boba. Yumm!! We love the pho here. The broth is always on point and we never had a problem with the meat being tough. The spring rolls with the shrimp and pork is the best. And that peanut sauce is heaven. Was craving pho and Vietnamese egg rolls. The service was fast, super helpful and extremely accommodating/friendly. The soup was amazing! We took it to go, obviously, and the take out bowls were really cool in that they separated the solids from the hot broth which was awesome! Came with all the wanted condiments and utensils, was super happy. The egg rolls were hot and served with the proper mint and lettuce, the sauce was a little too vinegar heavy for me and the filling of the egg rolls was a little bland. I've eaten here twice this month and once at their original restaurant in Yucaipa so I figured it is apt that I write a review. I had the Pho dac biet and my girl had the Banh mi bo kho. One look at her beef stew and I knew it was bad news. The bread was good, warm and toasty, not dry and hard. The stew, now that is another story. She took a bite and frowned at me. I'm like, yeah, doesn't look that good. She has had this dish at various Vietnamese restaurants so she has come to expect certain qualities: the thickness of the broth, reddish hue, the fragrant throaty meat and the side of lime with salt and pepper for dipping. She didn't get any of that. She got a bowl of bland looking beef stew and a round bread similar to a loaf of sourdough. My pho was good. It had lots of meat and beef balls and tripe. The temperature was perfect for slurping and the side of basil, beansprouts was fresh. My girl wanted to trade and I was like, nahhhhh, don't think so. Drink your iced coffee and eat your bland stew lol 4 stars because service was quick, the food came out fast and prices are good. read more

I love this place but if I'm honest it's not for the Pho. Their Pho is good but not great. They do have an extensive menu and everything I have had is good to very good to sometimes even great. Every time I go I have to get the Vietnamese crêpe. I've had it at a couple of other places and they don't compare to the one here. It's huge, it's eight dollars and it could easily be a meal. It also comes the big side plate of veggies. I eventually found out that you were supposed to put the hot crêpe in the cold Romain lettuce is and then drape all the veggies and sauce on and eat it like that. So so good. Their crispy chicken wings are also fantastic. He's surprising dish that we often get is the number 68 which is filet mignon on and onion on a sizzling platter. It's a nod to the huge French influence that Vietnam Has. This is one of those places that I crave at least once a month and nothing else will do, especially for that Vietnamese creep! This is my first time eating at Ocean Pho (located next to "JoJo's Grill-A-Dog" at Mountain Grove mall) and I will say that I was quite pleasantly surprised. First of all, the decor is nice (some details that need to be fixed, but nonetheless nice). The staff is a young crew but makes up for it by being quick, courteous and responsive. I ordered a bowl of Bo Vein Pho and BBQ beef Pho to go with it. The broth came out pretty fast and was piping hot which is the way it should be and the way I like it, especially on a cold rainy day. I didn't expect the broth to be so good coming from a hip looking joint, in my experience it's the dirty "grade C" Pho restaurants that sport the authentic flavors. There was generous amounts of sprouts, fresh basil, jalapeño, and onions to dump into the soup. I will give the Pho an (A-). The BBQ beef Bahn Mi sandwich was decent, but nothing spectacular. I'll give it a (B). The Vietnamese coffee was on point. You get a large cup and the flavor is strong but goes well with the condensed milk. They do not skimp here. I grade the coffee at an (A+). I haven't tried the rest of the menu yet, but the selection is large. They even have congee, which is rice porridge, one of my favorites. Some negatives that I found was the size of the restaurant was a bit cramped. So much so that they try fitting an extra mini table right at the doorway, which I think is not a good idea. This is where I was seated initially before asking to be moved. I felt like I was in the way every time someone walked in and cold breeze wafts at you every time the door is opened. Also, the door brushed my seat a couple of times which was uncomfortable. I would recommend this table be removed by management. I will grade the ambience (B) for this reason. They suck... I went there last weekend. Walked in, the waiter took my name and ask me to wait outside, ok... I had a party of 4 and a party of 2 walked in and signed in... we all waited outside... Why didn't he ask if I needed a big table because I didn't need a big table. A table that fits 4 is fine. So I had to wait another 15 minutes while the couple that came AFTER me got seated first and eating. Than, when I was ordering food, when the waiter repeated my order, he was talking so fast and calling the food by the number on the menu, like how the f* do I know the numbers on the menu? I just nodded and like whatever... so now comes the food... the spring rolls are so small and over priced. I went outside with the menu and came back inside to order and pay and I have to bring utensils out myself which is fine but the worst part was they put all our order inside to go box and put it on our table with the tray ( I don't think they do that with customer who eat inside the restaurant ,they will serve them with regular bowl and plate ,give it to customer one by one of their order) . I'm sorry ,but we paid the same price as them and expected to get the same service as them who choose to eat inside the restaurant ,so don't treat us differently . I ordered the number one. Pho dac biet. The broth was extremely dark which gives the impression of it being salty (at least to me). I was right, it had enough salt to mask the beef broth taste so it tasted like salt water noodles. Also ordered two egg rolls, never tasted an egg roll with some potato type filling.
