Bought $9.99 worth of these authentic Swedish treats
    Siobhan D.

An interesting and super posh store, where I could find a small bag of authentic imported Swedish fish in Elderberry flavor for $7.99, but also get a breakfast burrito and reasonably priced can of cold Diet Coke ($1.29). Bought all three, plus gluten-free Hobnobs imported from Ireland (8 biscuits for $8.99, oof, but bought 'em) and a slice of pumpkin bread for $5.79! So the prices are high, but the selection is so unique and fun. Plus you can buy normal food like a can of soup or a box of cereal. Some staff said hi, others didn't really indicate that they saw me or engaged when I said 'hello' and 'thank you' but overall the vibe was pleasant. Clean, organized. Smelled nice, except for the overpowering scents coming from the area of the store that was selling scented things, whoosh.

Nice store when you get good customer service. You will need to ask the right person, otherwise you might get ignored when they're chatting with each other (at the deli). They see you and they might make you wait or ignore you. Otherwise, great store produce, etc.

Eureka Square, Oceana market is top-notch with everything their health food and supplement section is very nice. The people who run this place really know what they're doing. Thank you.

This is a nice little neighborhood market that feels like a small Whole Foods. They stock some specialty items and harder to find items that you don't usually find at your average Safeway. Yes, the prices are higher than Safeway. However this market is not much different from Whole Foods; Oceana offers many similar unique and high quality items you'd find at Whole Foods. The staff is the difference here. They're more friendly here than the ones at Whole Foods. The bakery department is my favorite. This is where I come to pick up Palo Alto Baking Company tarts. There's a nice wine and cheese selection, too. Stop by here when you're building your charcuterie board. Parking is never a problem at this location.

For the leg of lamb, I think most people get a whole leg of lamb. That was way too much for me and I think the butcher thought I was confused when I asked for less and asked me what I was doing with it. He ended up saying he could give me a half leg of lamb and I agreed. Thar was about 3 and a half pounds (bone included) which was the perfect amount. I seared it and then braised it and the meat fell off the bone. Delicious and the price was pretty good. I was cooking my first pork chop and decided to come here to get it. Their pork isn't labeled as Berkshire or Duroc or anything but that probably keeps the price down. For chops, they had boneless, bone in, and double cut (which was also bone in). I mentioned I wanted it to be about 2 inches thick and the butcher said to get the double cut.I got 2 beautiful thick pork chops for $6.99 a pound so about $18 total. The regular cut bone in pork chops were the same price though obviously smaller. I brined this overnight and reverse seared it and it was great. The chop was a loin chop- loin and then a tenderloin nugget- not a pure rib chop. Cooked really nicely and was tender which I think was partially the overnight brine and also their pork. They do sell some vegetables and grocery supplies if you want to just make a single stop. They also have a deli with some sandwiches that looked good and prepared foods. I was very focused on buying the things I came in for and getting on with my day both times but I would like to take a closer look in the future as it looked good. Solid butcher shop and clearly loved since it was busy both on a weekend and during the week. I'm sure I will be back.

This restaurant in San Bruno had one of the best meat and lamb dishes I have tasted in the States. First off, the service was friendly and respectful. Ercan welcomed us and made me feel at home right away. It was a pleasure chatting with him and sharing stories. The Beyti was even better than what I expected. I already love Adana Kebab, and this took it to the next level. My girlfriend got the lamb shank, which was perfectly cooked. Lamb can be hit or miss, and this one was done just right, with the meat falling off the bones. The baklava was fresh, and not dry. It was the cherry on top of a unique experience. All seating is bar style with high tables hence the name "Hardwood Bar." The food was okay and I'd much rather go to Fikscue if I'm feeling BBQ next time to be honest. We shared ribs and each of us got an entree. One of my friends often orders from here for delivery and was excited to try it in person so that the food would be hot. Surprisingly, our tri tip and brisket came out slightly cold so it wasn't that different from delivery... The ribs were okay and not the most tender. Our server was great and service was good despite the restaurant being relatively full and served by one person. What I find the most perplexing is how they calculate the "SF mandate" fee and sales tax. I'm local to SF so I'm used to restaurants tacking on this "SF mandate"/"SF healthy mandate" fee, but their calculations just seem a bit off (see receipt). If we're calculating this correctly, 4% of $130.40 should be $5.22 and 8.63% of $130.40 should be $11.25. If you include the SF mandate fee in the tax calculation, then the $11.74 is right (if you include their calculation of the SF mandate fee). I'm not going to argue over a 50 cents or so but it's the principle of it! They should definitively state the actual % of 4.35% they're charging instead of just stating 4%. I mean at scale -- it adds up right? It rubbed me the wrong way for sure.
