Terrible shrimp scampi. Out of 7 people 3 got this dish which was very overdone large shrimp which was very tough. Amanda made a fabulous lemon drop martini. Oceans 234 needs lots of kitchen work. Ambience is what this place is all about. We took "Beach Rides" which was great because parking looked very backed up. Please show me one dish I could zero in on and I will be back with all 7 again. This place has it all!!! The view is amazing, the food is incredible, and the staff was delightful. I was there a few days ago I ordered the fish dip as my appetizer and the pear salad for my lunch, both were delicious, but that salad was the best I've ever had!!! I haven't stopped thinking about it, and plan on going back again this week :) my white sangria was perfect as well. First time here and sat at the outside bar. We just came from the beach and didn't know we weren't allowed to be with our bikini tops on thinking it would be ok since it's allowed at other bars on the beach (go figure) We had our bottoms on but we were never told it wasn't ok the bartenders gave us dirty looks and never told it wasn't ok we felt so unwanted so had a drink and left! read more

Went here for a birthday dinner, by a suggestion of a friend. Service was shotty. We were seated at a high top table, by the hostess who dashed off to speak to her friend. 1st impression, yeah not so great. 2. We had a waitress who didn't realize we had been seated, and did apologize but informed us that she wasn't even made aware of our presence. She herself looked a bit overwhelmed. Serving in and outside. I'm not sure if they were short staff that night but it was a bit chaotic! My friend came along and instantly was unhappy. We waited 25 min for each protein of our order of food to come out. The portion size is dismal. Highly over priced for what they offer. Mind you our waitress told us that they were great. Not so much had the 2 sushi tuna roll and calamari. Spent 35 bucks on a meal that I ended up going to ihop later to get sated! 3 stars for an valiant effort, but I won't be going there again. read more

Somehow I end up going to this place every time I visit south FLA. Its on the beach with crazy good views of the Ocean and right next to the pier which is where all the action is. Awesome lunch on a beautiful day, with an ocean front view and attentive staff. We started with a couple appetizers, the Calamari and the Chicken Tostadas. Both were amazing, calamari cooked just right with plenty of flavor and an amazing smokey jalapeno dipping sauce to compliment it. Tostadas didn't shatter when you bite into them, a lot of flavor and plenty of toppings on them as well. I had the Grouper Reuben because it's different and just sounds appealing! Grouper on marble rye, with thousand island dressing and slaw is actually an outstanding combination. I was impressed! The girlfriend had a Mahi sandwich and enjoyed it as well. Service was on point and friendly, just in the sweet spot. The menu is super simple and easy to read with just enough options, Overall experience was fantastic, I will recommend this place to people and definitely will return. Had lunch today at 234 Ocean. Tom was our waiter. He did a great job of describing some of his favorite menu items. We took his advice and had delicious calamari, mahi mahi and key lime pie. The fish sandwich was very good. The sushi was good, but the calamari was disappointing. Katie was very helpful and pleasant.

Went for dinner tonight after making our reservations on yelp. We had wanted outside seating although that option was not offered as an option . The hostess was pleasant although only offered us inside seating. After a call to the manager a table w as miraculously made available outside. The food and drink were very good; although the timing of the entrees was 10 minutes longer than knit should have been. When we got billed we were overcharged for one of out alos. Went there for brunch Easter Sunday. Had reservations so we got seated right away, outside nice view of the beach. Bottomless mimosas were good. Ordered the lobster potato skin benedict. Potato skins undercooked, lobster was overcooked, bur not a bad dish. My mother in laws eggs benedict came out with no Canadian bacon. A little disappointed in the food given all the hype the restaurant gets. To top it off the valet backs up into my car, driving another customers car, while I'm waiting to pull out of the lot. Terrible experience. Brunch reservation for party of 7. We got there 5 mins early at the start of brunch. There were only 4 tables occupied. We waited 10 minutes for 2 high chairs. Took an hour and a half for food to be served. Food came out cold. Total disaster. View great. Service atrocious. I was excited to return to Oceans 234 since the renovation and found the restaurant really nicely done. We had company from the west coast, so we wanted to bring them here. I had reservations for 7:30 and only had to wait maybe 5 minutes before our table was available. A note of caution. When you make reservations, if you do not like a lot of noise or the smell of cigarette or cigar smoke, insist on a table far away from the bar. I feel the hostess should have mentioned that up front when I was making the reservation. Our waitress was very nice, explained all the specials, but she almost had to yell for us to hear from all the noise. The other couple ordered the Grouper dinner for $35.99 and enjoyed it, but did not eat the beans since they were overcooked and a little tough. My wife opted for the Lobster mac n cheese again for $35.99. comments were that the presentation was beautiful, lobster was delicious, but the mac n cheese left lots to be desired, since it was more of a runny sauce and the pasta used looked like a smaller version of rigatoni. Not my choice if I was serving mac n cheese. Why mess with perfection. As for me, I just ordered the mahi sandwich with fries since I had a late lunch. Great sandwich, however, I had to send fries back since they were barely warm. Waitress immediately brought back a very hot bunch of fries. Overall, I think if we were placed at a table away from the bar, that would have been the start of a nice dining experience. Food could have been a little better. I did not have a yelp account until this review, but believed it was very important to write one. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in a very long time. Our waiter was a very genuine person, but very bad server. I told him of a dairy allergy I had and he still brought me my plate, set it down, and said "I'm not sure if this has dairy in it." After I asked him to check, he gave me my side of potatoes with sauce (which I assumed I'd be able to eat or he wouldn't have brought it) and tasted it. I immediately got sick, knowing that it had dairy. Me and my date got our main plates and our food was very dry. We finished our plates and were looking to get home. We went to the valet to pick up our car, and us and another couple stood and waited 15 minutes for them to bring our car over. For $40 a plate, the service was not what it should've been. I would not recommend this restaurant if you have an allergy, because they do not take it seriously. read more

The staff is most unprofessional, the restaurant is dirty, and the food is less that edible. One of our party fell on the wet dirty floor. Not one of the staff attempted to offer any help. When we told the hostess that the floor was still wet, she walked away saying she already new this. The manager new nothing of this and when we told him, he too shrugged it off. This place has never hit it for me. The food, service, and drinks are sub par at best. The bar staff is always rude and the drinks always have that weird knock off soda taste. Don't get me wrong I keep coming back here and there hoping it got better because it is owned by a young female owner and I wanna say more power to her but this place just keeps missing the mark. read more

Anyone who has read one of my previous reviews can tell I have no qualms about calling out a place when I belive the experience is deemed subpar. This is not the case when talking about Oceans 234. Recently I enjoyed a lovely evening at this establishment and would like to share a few notes. First I must mention that the view alone is outstanding. Our waiter Brian had a very friendly demeanor, this coupled with his extensive knowledge of the menu and great recommendations was definitely a welcome addition to the evening. At Brians recommendation we had the surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly and the accompanying lobster tail was huge. It's worth mentioning that this place is bit on the expensive side, but as any serious restaurant connoisseur knows quality can be expensive. 10/10 will dine again read more

This place is super nice! Very relaxing, outdoor oceanfront dining area complete with tablecloths and candlelight! We love it. I had some sushi for an appetizer, followed by a spectacular local snapper dish with a sweet corn crust! Both were amazing! My wife is not a huge seafood fan so she got the Filet Mignon which was absolutely excellent! ( I got to try a bite or 2). It had a Cabernet wine reduction sauce and was cooked to perfection, very very tender! They also have great Patron Margaritas and Key Lime pie! If you are anywhere near this place, you gotta try it. Ps. You can take a nice walk on the boardwalk and pier after dinner. Very beautiful. read more
