Decided to give Oceans Grille a try today; glad we did. We ordered a burger and a mahi sandwich! The burger was very tasty and cooked over a grill. I could see the flames from the open kitchen. Excellent beef used. I ordered the mahi fried. It was huge, thick and delicious. A top level fish sandwich. Loved the garlicky pickle served with both sandwiches. The coleslaw tasted garlic forward which was unusual but worked. My husband asked for Splenda for his iced tea and we were told they only have white sugar, but later offered a simple syrup. The fries were just okay, nothing to write home about. They were crinkle cut, but a little dark... not overcooked, but something was off. The place had a very neighborhoody vibe. One server, took care of the whole place and did a great job. They were moderately busy. Overall we enjoyed our meal and will return. read more

So i decided to looked up for events to do on Thursday July 23rd 2026 on Eventbrite for Bingo night at Oceans Grille in Fort Lauderdale, so we decided check it out. It was a slow and quiet thursday night, (not too busy or crowded). So we decided to sit outside so we could hear better. the first hand the Bingo was free. Every game afterwards was it five dollars with a jackpot of $250 at the end of the night. So to geting the vibe we decided yo get a drink. After the first game of bingo the host decides to have a 10 min game break. So at this time we figured we would stretch our legs and just walk around until its time for them to start playing bingo again. So we used our bingo card to covered our drinks, so that everyone can see that there are customers sitting there.. We then went back inside before the next round of bingo started only to find out that out table was completely cleared off our drinks and bingo card was thrown away.. When we asked why was our drinks and card thrown away when all we did was stepped our side for a break when we were in intermission the waitress couldn't answered. At this point the another weighter came by being belligerent and confrontational telling us that we will no longer be surved at that establishment and tried to kick us out. At that moment i asked to speak to a manager.. It took the manager 30 mins to acknowledge our presence, instead of apologizing trying to fix the issue the manager then went on to belittle us somemore.. now what was told to us was that they came to the conclusion that we're skipping on the bill (because we stepped outside on a schedule break and returned 5 minutes later). Where's the common courtesy of waiting until the bingo game is over or 30 minutes 45 minutes to see if we were coming back?? Then we were told because we didn't tell them where we were going it gave them the right to throw our drinks away? Do we have to actually permission to go outside and grab a smoke or to even go to the bathroom?? Why is it after 5 minutes of me stepping away from my table I'm being accused of running off on the bill. I could have had an emergency phone call I had to take could have been anything... I'm sorry to say it but my freedom does not end where your fear begins Wow ok so the the customer returned.. attacking the customer is how you fix the misunderstanding. We came here for brunch because it was down the block from our hotel and we were able to just walk to it. The reviews looked promising so we were optimistic. Apparently, half of Boca had the same idea. They were pretty packed and we were told that it would be a wait. The server that greeted us initially told us to sit ourselves but said that there wasn't any seating available outside. When we looked around inside, all of the tables were also taken. There were at least two other tables that could have been available but they had plastics on them, like refrigerator bins and such. The server then said that she could clean off a table but it would take some time. We said we would wait. She seemed very frazzled, likely because they were so packed. She kept saying that she wasn't trying to dissuade us from staying and that she wasn't trying to kick us out but she kept giving us other restaurant options to go to, instead of just waiting for a table there. We 100% felt as though she was trying to push us out the door, suggesting that we go to McDonald's instead, while insisting that she doesn't think we eat McDonald's. It was odd. Even when we opted to wait for a takeout order, she said that they have a line of tickets up in the kitchen and that the takeout order would be a long wait also. We said that would be OK and went to wait outside. On our way out, a regular walked in that the server recognized, and she gave her a very different sounding explanation about the wait time. It sounded way less ominous and the fact that the woman never came back outside could only mean that she immediately got a table. There was no room outside because people were just taking over the entire space. They have tables and a breakfast bar with barstools. We would have grabbed the stools that were free but a table of people rested their luggage on the chairs so we weren't even able to sit there. There was one lone seat, near a half-smoked cigarette, so I grabbed that to sit on since I was holding the kiddo. Hubby put in our to-go order and we waited. Everything took maybe 20 minutes to receive which wasn't bad at all. I'm not really sure what the server was going on and on about. It would have been nice if we could have sat comfortably and eaten there. Tables began opening up outside after only a few minutes of waiting. An older couple even offered to share their table with us, saying that it is not uncommon for strangers to share tables in Europe. We appreciated the offer but just decided to wait for our order and leave. Once it was ready, we headed back to our hotel to eat. Hubby had the patty melt. It was very greasy and the patty was bland.. He got onion rings on the side and those were really good. We got our Little a hotdog that she liked. It came with unseasoned fries but she didn't mind. My Cesar salad had shrimp added. They were pretty big but there were only four of them. We made the most with what we were given. This is a location we'd likely not ever visit again. read more

Always pass this place but decided to try after reading several Yelp reviews. I had the shrimp & scallop scampi with garlic bread. It was really delicious!!! I used the bread to soak up the scampi sauce. My mom ordered the hamburger with fries. She said it was very good. Not pictured is the Reuben sandwich which my husband totally enjoyed. The server was very quick to take our order & told us of the history of the place. The bar takes up most of the inside space & we sat in a booth. This is not a good choice if you are a vegetarian. Menu options are limited. If you aren't then it's going to be a lot better for you. It's a fun bar/restaurant with inside and outside seating as well as a bar area. Food pricing is reasonable and portion size is on the large size. I really liked the home made coleslaw, also the high quality pickle was a nice touch. My grilled cheese was a bit on the cold side and it seemed that they didn't use cheddar or Swiss as requested, American cheese is not a good choice for grilled cheese. They have happy hour specials and then are in a strip mall so you shouldn't have an issue finding parking. Right next to the CVS. read more

This restaurant is just two blocks from our condo, so we finally decided to give it a try. There were four of us and this is what we thought of the food: - Steak Quesadillas Nicely seasoned, the dough was more like a phyllo dough than a flour tortilla, which made it nice and flakey. A good choice. - Mahi sandwich. The Mahi could had been a bit more blackened but the sandwich itself was good. Fries were crispy but not very crispy. - Reuben sandwich. Delicious. Moist meat and nicely toasted bread. Again fries could had been crisper. - Blackened Mahi entree. Nicely seasoned, the rice was delicious and the broccoli was cooked perfectly not too soft, not hard....very good...the portion was a bit small when compared to similar Mahi entrees at other restaurants for the same price point. Our waiter was very nice, friendly and very efficient. The inside is a bit dark but the outside patio is inviting and nicely covered to protect from the sun. EVERYTHING! The (fish) & chips reminded me of the legendary Arthur Treacher's restaurant, a true masterpiece from yesteryear. The coleslaw was a game-changer, infused with just the right amount of pepper to make it truly one-of-a-kind and a refreshing departure from the ordinary coleslaw found in other establishments. The cucumber garnish was an inspired touch, adding a burst of freshness and flavor that left me speechless. Love this place! I usually take a friend here each time he flies in early to Fort Lauderdale. It has become a little tradition. It has great food, awesome staff but nothing fancy. Sat outside and Deedee was the server. I ordered the Texas BBQ burger and a mushroom bacon cheese burger with onion rings. The burgers were big- I considered cutting it in half, but nah I went for it and enjoyed a fantastic juice yummy burger in every bite I guess their signature dish is a several day brined 1 pound or more pork chop 40 mins to prepare that big chop The manager Richard (maybe) came to the table to ask how our meal was ! May 2023, came here for breakfast with a friend and Ellen who served us was wonderful. We sat outside that had plenty of seating. Breakfast was great, especially the roasted potatoes, and my egg over easy was cooked just the way I like it, plus the coffee was fresh and not bitter. Plus the prices were average. We liked it so much we went for breakfast the next day too! My wife & I stopped here as it was close to our air b&b. We were looking for some basic seafood. Ocean Grill had a "dive restaurant" feel. Open kitchen, long bar with decent drink options and food service, indoor table service and an outside seating area. My wife ordered the shrimp & scallops with a special request of pasta. A Negroni to drink. No problem at all. I went for the fisherman's platter grilled with a craft ipa. The waitress said she had to look it up as while the Negroni was on the menu she had never made one before. She did a great job. Guess it's not a Negroni type of clientele. I watched as my sizable hunk of Mahi was placed on the grill it also came with shrimp and scallops. The meal was great. Scallops were very fresh and tender. Shrimp were large and meaty. My Mahi was spot on. Cost for this was $77.23. Nice in these crazy economic times The next morning we walked over for breakfast. My wife had eggs Benedict and I opted for the "ocean Benedict" which had 2 nice slices of steak topped with a poached egg and bearnaise sauce. Both included a Bloody Mary. Mine came perfectly med/rare. The sauce was terrific with hints of tarragon. Cost for the two of us, 37.00. It doesn't get better than that. Treat yourself to this terrific "dive". I don't normally write updates, especially when there's no change in my overall assessment. But I did notice that my original review was more than five years ago, and amazingly, this well-kept secret is still turning out its best-in-class, hidden hole-in-the-wall dishes. And as many times as I've had the pleasure of enjoying this restaurant, it still has its very large menu and tiny kitchen with dishes as varied as soft-shell crab to rib-eye steak to the best port chop you've ever tasted, and terrific breakfast before 11:30 am - if it sounds like I really, really like this place, you're correct. My favorite dish on the whole menu is the pork chop. My wife and I sometimes even order it to go at breakfast, and then enjoy it at home for dinner. It does require a 45-minute wait from ordering to coming to the table, but wow, it is really worth it. If you've ever ordered a pork chop at any other restaurant, you know that it often comes out dry, not very tender, and without great pork flavor. But not this one - you will agree that it is the best pork chop you've ever tasted. Ever. It apparently has to do with the brine and the way it is prepared - I'm not really sure, It is tender, juicy, tasty and I just know that everyone I've introduced to this restaurant/bar/diner agrees it's the best pork chop they've ever had. I've never had a bad dish at Oceans Grille. And I've had patty melts, rib-eye steak, chili, potato skins, breakfasts - I've had a lot of what this special place offers. Its clientele is mostly regulars, and I often see many of the same customers at the bar and at the several inside booths. There is an outdoor patio with another 7 or 8 tables. Several of the servers I mentioned in my review 5 1/2 years ago are still there. It's just a terrific place with food you'd never expect when you walk in the first time, and I still highly recommend Oceans Grille. read more

This place blew me away. You can get food just about anywhere, but the level of friendly individualized service this place offers, not so much. This place wins the friendly service award. I met everyone who works here during my visit I believe. From the bartender to the chef and even the bar back who gave me a home grown avocado after chatting with me about his recent trip to Puerto Rico in passing. My server DD was great. She was extremely friendly and made the dining experience a real pleasure. Lastly the food was great. I had a Caesar Salad and blackened sirloin which the chef used homemade smoked salt to prepare amid it was delicious. I highly recommend this place and will most likely be going there for breakfast in the morning when I check out of my hotel. read more

I should know better when I see on the menu of a restaurant with almost no customers on a Saturday morning the phrase "no substitutions." It indicates a lack of willingness to give customers what they want and a cockiness on the part of the cook. Totally unwarranted here. The best part was being outside on a nice morning, and the pleasant waitress. The food is seriously overpriced: an overcooked fried egg with Canadian bacon and cheese on an English muffin with flavorless and greasy home fries for $11. I wanted the corned beef hash and poached eggs, but it only came with a Bloody Mary for $19! I don't drink but there was no price reduction for non-drinkers. I won't be back. read more

LOCATION: Visiting the area and this dive bar happened to be very convenient. Adjacent to CVS. AMBIANCE: Came for brunch and loved the chill atmosphere. The interior isn't large, but outside seating is also available. FOOD: Ordered the Eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary. I never would have ordered the two together, but they were available as a packaged deal on the menu. Loved both items individually and as a pair. The eggs Benedict was simple and without frills, but it was very very tasty. Unlike most of the other eggs Benedicts I've tried, the hollandaise sauce wasn't overly rich. The poached egg popped beautifully, and the English muffin was just lightly toasted. Fell in love. I've never had a Bloody Mary before but, when I added the juice from the lime slice, realized that it's a drink that I just may order again and again. The Bloody Mary that came with the meal was also simple, but sometimes simple is best :) SERVICE: This was one of the closest eateries that opened the earliest for brunch (love to eat early lol), so I was already seated very soon after the restaurant opened. Therefore, it wasn't very crowded, but the service was still great. OVERALL: Solid local eatery with tasty, simple food. Nothing fancy about it, but there are many options on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the drink menu (took a peek of that of course) looked great too. read more

We ran upon this spot several years ago and make it a point to stop in several times when vacationing in FT. Lauderdale. The breakfast is especially delicious!
