Oddwood Ales is doing good things. It's probably one of our favorite new breweries in the past year. Their beers are consistently good and they have a good variety to choose from. They usually always have saisons on tap, but they still have other types if you're not a barnyard-y fan. We haven't had an infected or bad beer here yet - and that says something! They have a great Happy Hour -- $1 off all house beers! And their house beers run around $5-7 on average. You order at the bar and if you order food, they bring it to your table. Comfortable space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There are also a few arcade games mixed in. If you're not a beer fan (why are you here?), they do have wine available. read more

The New Mexico/Southwest style decor inside is really nice and a rarity in Austin. That being said I'm not a fan of Oddwood Ales. Here's why... Our bartender/server seemed like a space cadet. Midway through our meal, the 4 of us realized we'd not gotten the happy hour discount on what we ordered. I went to ask about it and he seemed clueless on if it was happy hour or not (it was 4p on a Friday, their HH goes until 6:30 on Fridays). Another guy who worked there said, "Yeah, it's definitely happy hour right now." I wish he had been our server instead. The one who was our server then agreed that it was. I said ok, but that we didn't get charged the HH rate for a number of things that we ordered which were on HH. He went into some thing about how they just started opening earlier on Fridays and I was like, "yeah ok, but what about us being charged non HH prices during HH?" He literally said, "I could grab you a buck from our cash drawer." He never did. Aside from that, they say their pizza is "New Jersey" style, but our table said it was tasted just like Peter Piper pizza...It wasn't bad, but wasn't exceptional and I found their pepperoni to be way too salty. Oh and their tiny $9 Stromboli is a sad joke. I strongly advise against it. I have zero plans to return. read more

A great neighborhood brewery with small batch "farm house" beers. There food is reasonable priced and not compliments their beer selection. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There are game systems (PlayStation, Super Nintendo) and free arcade games stationed through the place. It has a family friendly vibe and a dog friendly patio. read more

Visited several breweries in Austin this weekend as a Bark for Beers Fundraiser participant. Of the multiple breweries I visited, this was far and beyond my favorite one!!! The place has ample parking options, large indoor seating with lots of fun video and arcade games throughout, they serve pizza, tasty beers, and offer a cider option for those gluten-free friends. This place has it all!! They also offer a fabulous happy hour where beers are $2 off and pizzas are $5. Such a great deal! Can't wait to return!!! read more

So glad we checked this place out :) The bartenders were super nice, we loved chatting with them. The beers I tasted were all really tasty! I love going to a brewery that has such diverse options. Plus, they also have wine and pizza! We had the full moon pizza, the pepperoni Stromboli, and the bruschetta flight. Everything was pretty good. Not as good as the beer! But not bad. I love Oddwood Ales! It fulfills the *rare* what I call "Austin Trifecta" of a bar/restaurant: Hip interior? Check Good beers and food? Check Good parking? Check The brewery is situated in a house with homey lighting, long tables, and is very cozy. You can order full pints for $7-8, or half pints for $3-4. The Yule Boy is one of my favorites from here, it's a rich and roasty stout. Their IPAs are a bit lacking and aren't as juicy as others out there though. This place truly cares about the Austin community which makes this brewery even more awesome, I saw they were offering 4 pack beers with a freshly made pizza for $6 those who have been laid off in the service industry with recent events due to COVID. I'll make my way over for beer pickup soon in support. read more

Came to this place the other night. First time and the food was delicious. Great Greek salad and the large was just enough for 2 people to split. Ordered a pizza and first off I love the crust. It's a thin crust that if you probably asked to have it cooked a little longer for some crispy but not too crispy crust and it would be amazing. Also ordered these Tex-mex style meatballs and they had chorizo in them which was different but satisfying. Next time I'm in Austin I'm headed back to oodwood for a Stromboli. Service was amazing because you order everything from your phone and pay from your phone so I really don't see how someone could mess up that system lol it's not like your server is going to forget to put your order in. It's dog friendly and I love that. All in all I had a great first time experience and will most definitely be back. read more

This is a very good brewery that has a kitchen making the best thin crust pizza I've eaten in Austin. I had a flight, and enjoyed every beer I tasted. The taproom is like a nice cafe, bright and spacious. There is outdoor seating as well, but less attractive in 103f heat. I won't hesitate to return or bring out of town guests there to enjoy the beer and food. I predict a great success for this place. read more

We waited over an hour for a simple pie, and was average at best. Seems that the whole place was managed poorly.

We love the ambiance when there's not a bunch of toddlers yelling and running around. It's a bar not a play room. ​

The place is impressive. It's fashioned in Texan farmhouse style with a welcoming entryway. There is seating for those who are waiting. I studied the manageable menus offering appetizers, salads, wine, pizza, and beer. At length, I asked the chefs what they would recommend. They suggested Stromboli, and I went with that. Instead of the polenta appetizer they suggested, I drank wine. The Stromboli was warm and comforting on a cold day. The portion was generous. My server was ready with silverware. As I ate, I noticed the old arcade games. There are several dining areas. And there is a porch that adds warmth to the decor. Oddwood has an attractive bar area to the left of the entryway. The restaurant has a wine list offering a wide selection to complement Italian meals. There is available gluten-free food. All in all, it is the largest and most beautiful restaurant now operating on Manor. It attracts visitors from out of town as well as people who live here. read more

Wonderful little place. Their beer menu is really wonderful. They always have something I like. Last time I went, I came with a friend and we sat on their patio. I ordered their American IPA called Pop! Pop! - it was very good. I also decided to try their sour menu and had their Foeder Saison (Family Matters) and enjoyed it more than the IPA even. On this night, one of the bartenders had put on an old playlist they had created years ago and I swear it was perfect song after perfect song after perfect song. You get it. A place like this can easily get by without having to play wonderful, eclectic music for its patrons, but the fact that it usually does just makes it that much better. Service at bar is lacking. Bartender is selectively rude. He didn't meet minimal human standards of decency until I went up with my husband, his "buddy." Meanwhile with me he was uninterested and short. I asked a clarifying question about my bill when I went up the first time to order because it seemed cheap. He was rude about it and assumed I thought I was being overcharged. Then later when the text came in I realized my pizza was left off and went back up to correct it. He initially tried to tell me I didn't communicate the order, then quickly corrected himself; an action that likely would not have taken place without another presence. Food is ok. The guy that brings food out of kind. I say take your business elsewhere. Too many places in Austin for unpredictable and annoying/subpar service. read more

You need to try it. Look, a lot of these reviews mention the video games you can play free at Oddwood's: if that's your thing read another review because I've never played a video game so wouldn't know a good one from a dud. But you should come here. Craft brewers with a rotating set of brews, you're almost always going to find something interesting to drink here, and, yes, the friendly bartenders will gladly give you a sample. The variety is nice - bring a group of 6-8 and I am sure everyone will find a beer to suit their palate. Environment is nice, warm and welcoming: perfect place for a draught or two on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Lots of dark woods, stucco and appropriate lighting. You can take a date here and never worry she thinks the place is a bar - this is a gathering spot featuring delicious beers. Yes, there is seating outside, and the variety of tables indoors enables cozy meetings for two or groups together having plenty of elbow room. Honestly I don't recall a tv screen (and didn't miss it either) so I would not describe this as a sports bar. Much more urban and thoughtful and a chill place for dates or friends. Oddwood has a cool, rootsy interior with free video games! What makes good beer better? Crushing your friends in NBA Jam afterwards! In the age of "more is better" breweries, Oddwood has a carefully curated tap selection, half in house and half guest beers. I'm told their selection rotates quite frequently, which gives you the chance to try something new, but might also put an old favorite out of reach. Speaking of favorites, the blonde ale might be the best ale I've ever had...it has a truly addictive citrus finish. Their atonal saison is incredible, with just the right amount of funk, and the double IPA is really well done too. They had a wild sour on guest tap that I liked quite a bit, though I got more cherry-juice tartness than pure sour. The price per beer is...well, let's just say Oddwood is proud of their brews, and rightfully so. The cost is balanced out by the alcohol content, so it shouldn't take too many to get you going. If the clientele is any indication, Oddwood is clearly doing something right, they had brisk business on the random Thursday night we were there. I'm looking forward to going back in a month or two and seeing what's new. read more

Free arcade, Nintendo 64, Foosball-- all free. Good beer and ambiance, the place is pretty big, so your not scrunched up with other loud parties. We got the Bruschetta Flight and the 10" Pizza- The Zinger. The Bruschetta was really good, the pizza was ok, but I'm particular about pizza, it wasn't bad! And having the convenience to drink, order food, and play games in one area.. totally cool. The prices were fair and the parking abundant!! We live nearby and want so desperately for places like Oddwood to succeed and flourish, support local! But, they did something weird when we were paying, we're going to keep an eye for next time, and I'll update later. read more

We had takeout multiple times throughout the COVID shutdown but finally stopped by to eat inside. Pizzas are great for takeout but even better fresh out of the oven. Delicious! Atmosphere is very nice with lots of games available to play and it's very cozy. That's half the battle. The beer however is below average and they're not the most upfront with pricing structure. Instead of flights they do half pours and one would assume the price would be half that of a pint. It's not. The pints are already expensive and the half pours are ridiculous. And they don't make a point to tell you that. Obviously they have a right to choose what they charge but as a customer didn't like the process. Not very upfront. If the beer was good I might go back but unlikely now. When you're a new place you should probably treat your customers better. read more
