I was looking for a place with good home cooked kind of food. After 2 nights of rich food at fancy restaurants, I just wanted a nice homey dinner. The chicken dinner at Odyssey fit the bill! I am rating them a 4 not because they are a fine dining place, but because they serve well prepare reasonably price meals. Yes, you need grab a menu and seat yourself then order at the counter, but the atmosphere is comfortable, everyone is friendly and sometimes I just want comfort food! Lots of things to say about our experience here. The food was okay. I ordered the blt, the bread was dry and slopped together. My mom ordered the salmon tacos, she didn't get her food until we were done eating (there was five of us) when they brought our her food it was cold. We asked for a refund for her food or a discount, the guy was super hesitant and kind of rude but after another 10-20 min wait he brought her a $5 bill (they were $14).... we love the atmosphere just wish the food was better and service was more accommodating to customers read more

Cool place! After visiting Pianetta winery they let us uncork a bottle free of charge. We ordered a burger and two soups. Pricing was decent. The gentleman we met here sat with us and he ordered, I think a Ribeye...he raved about it. Cool. The service is casual. You order at a counter and they bring the food to you. It's just food people. Nothing special. If you're in Paso and need sustenance, but don't want something decadent or snobby or even all that flavor full, but just a non-fast food meal, this is your place. Service (mostly high school kids) was actually pretty good considering. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch on a weekday. I liked that it was seat yourself and order at the counter when you're ready cuz there was no rush or awkwardness. The cashier was very friendly. I ordered the hot and spicy chicken stir fry and a side of the pita and hummus. The food was out in a good amount of time. Just enough time for some conversation and trivial pursuit, which they have on the tables. The hummus was freaking amazing and the pita bread was right out of the oven. Then I got my stir fry and it blew my mind. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. It was a huge portion. Plus it was pretty. It's a bit pricy, but well worth it. To top it all off, there was an old woman eating behind us and she asked the waitress what kind of tree was outside. The girl didn't know but asked her coworkers and who I assumed was the owner and they didn't know either. But they went on a hunt and found out for her, which I thought was really lovely. read more

Stale croutons and sour soup. Not sure why people like this place. We came here for lunch and I ordered their soup of the day, "garden vegetable" and their Caesar salad. My boyfriend ordered their rotisserie chicken sandwich. The waiter spilled my soup on to my salad as he set it down, so that ruined the salad. The soup was bitter and disappointing. The salad croutons were stale. Both were really nothing to write home about. It was just so bland. Definitely wouldn't come back. read more

Great food, nice people, and quick service. Found them on Yelp as we were driving down the 101, and was NOT disappointed. When you want a real meal (not walk up, or fast-food) this is a great place. OK, it is technically a walk-up, but that's what makes it so great when you're on the road - excellent food, but speedy. I had the Vercruz sole, and the fish was great. Odyssey is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Paso. Their food is so fresh and always tastes great, and the restaurant is really cute and has a very comforting, homey, feel to it. It's a bit of a different dining experience - as you order and pay at the counter, get your own soda, water, etc., and then choose your own table. Next you're brought out your food, and anything else you need (extra dressing, condiments, etc.), by a server. They have a very wide selection of food, from rotisserie chicken meals, salads, wraps, and sandwiches, to pastas, seafood, and steak. Two of my favorite choices here are the rotisserie chicken sandwich and the artichoke heart and melted brie sandwich. Both are to die for! All the sandwiches, and most of the other meal choices, come with one or two sides (fries, soup or green and various other types of salads.) Their soup is house made and there's always two different choices per day that they write on a chalkboard near the register, along with the daily special. They also make their own bread, so it's always super fresh. Their price point on some of their meals, sandwiches especially, can be a little high - but it's pretty consistent with other restaurants' prices in downtown Paso, and their food is so good, this has never really deterred me from eating here. In fact, I moved out of the area for several years, and eating at Odyssey was always on my must-do list whenever I came back to visit. read more

I've really begun to hate Odyssey World Café. Simply for the fact that every time I visit this quaint little café they raise the bar even higher for quality and service and with that bar my expectations also rise. The hate stems from the realization that no other establishment will ever be able to meet these new and higher expectations. To start, the atmosphere is warm and charming. It doesn't hurt they have an attractive friendly server who is very helpful in recommending great menu items. However I am completely stuck on their french dip. It is the most AMAZING french dip I have ever had and it makes #1 on my list. The meat is juicy and flavorful. The bread is soft and fresh and the au jus is delicious!!! This sandwich alone is what brings me back everytime!!! If your a french dip lover like I am, you have to try it!!!! 5 stars for never having a single problem there and for their excellent food!!! read more

Just ate the grilled salmon salad, added avo and it was so so so good! Fresh and huge! I'm on keto and this place has great alternatives for it and paleo. Reminded me of my college days in Berkeley. Super mellow vibe where you do the ordering at the desk, get your own coffee, and they bring you a big pile of yummy food. No waiter/waitress annoying, which, if you are nursing a wine tasting hangover, is welcomed. Great food with excellent omelettes with obscure names attached to them. I agree with another reviewer that said the food is too gourmet to have to order at the counter, but I'm not going to take stars off for that reason :) service, although minimal, is top notch, especially considering the servers are college age kids. Very charmming restaraunt in downtown Paso Robles just off the square. Casual mediteranian food. We only had breakfast there this time. You ordered at the counter and they brought out the food. Coffee and tea was a help yourself affair. It worked out very well as you could dine at your own pace. Large room, good for groups. It also had outdoor seating. There were dishes and nickknacks for sale around the restarant. The food was fresh and well prepared. We will definetly go back for lunch and or dinner. read more

I really want to like this place, but almost every time I go, I leave dissatisfied with my experience. The waitstaff seem standoffish, and I don't feel super welcome. The ahi tuna stir fry is pretty tasty, but most of the other lunches I've had are pretty bland. If these two areas could be fixed, I'd really enjoy coming here because I do enjoy the cozy atmosphere. read more

We LOVE Odyssey World Cafe! We stumbled upon this place on our way to Reno from Santa Barbara and now it's a MUST every time we are in Paso! All the food is fresh and delicious! My husband and I went here with 4 kids under the age of 10. Another party was just being seated when they offered their table to us because it was a bigger table. What seemed to be the manager told us we couldn't sit there, the table was reserved. We moved to a different table and then heard him invite another party that just walked in to sit at that table. They told us that they had not reserved this table. This was very frustrating and I can only think that it was because we had kids with us. Therefore I would NOT call this place kid friendly. I stayed only to see if the food would be worth the discrimination. It wasn't. The rice was bland, I could hardly see the fish among the cabbage in my fish tacos, the kids did not like their hamburgers and my husband said the gyro was just OK. Would not recommend... Especially if you're going with kids!! read more

First time here while in Paso visiting. Stopped in for lunch because they had a dog friendly sidewalk seating. First off there is no table service except for the food delivery instead you order at the inside counter which means you fill and carry your own drinks ..napkins...etc to your table. They do serve beer and wine. The menu looked pretty good lots of sandwiches..pastas ..gyros..salads..rotisserie chicken..stir fry ..duck meat leg and thighs..kids menu and dinner after 5. We had the lunch pasta served with a side salad of greens and vinagarette. I had the Mediterranean pasta with 3 kinds of olives and capers ..sun dried tomatoes tossed in olive oil..loved it...served with 2 big slices of foccacia on the side..husband had chicken fettuccine ..was ok. The outside was very relaxed..but they need salt and pepper on the table..was too tired after lugging all the beer etc in and out to go back inside for it...if you go in warm weather sit inside air conditioning felt good when I was ordering and the flies outside were hard to deal with. Once we finished eating we picked up our dishes and took them inside so the flies would leave us alone to finish our beers which they did. INFO FOR MANAGMENT》》 having someone clear the outside tables or check on them to remove the dirties would be advised. The food looked great! The menu was diverse and has a real cute European feel. Also just catty corner from the park by a few steps..If you know Paso alot of events are centered around the park with its old town feel. read more

I LOVE this place and have been coming here since I was in high school. It is one of the only restaurants left downtown that is both delicious AND affordable. I really like that you order at the counter because it makes the ambiance much more relaxed. They have game decks on every table which makes it fun and their wines are yummy.
