Called and spoke with Mike yesterday to set-up movers for today which is a big ask since it's the end of the month and everyone's moving. Did my research and they had the best quote for the vendors that were available for today. Josh & Albert were in contact with me and arrived when they said they would. They moved all of my stuff out of storage (studio apartment) in about 30 - 40 minutes and had all of the equipment to move it fast. They also were great on the freeway navigating traffic and almost beat me to the place. I moved out of storage and into my place in one trip versus multiple trips over 4 days using up to 5 friends and family. Total cost for moving one small studio apartment worth of stuff from storage ( I already boxed my own stuff beforehand and all the big furniture was disassembled) $498.50, not cheap. I used the Yelp Projects feature and got a lot of quotes from different vendors and went with these guys because they didn't require a 3 hour minimum (comparing rates gets tricky because of random fees) and my actual moving took 2 hours, but they factor in travel and charge 1/2 hour to the new place and a 1/2 hour back to their office so it ended up being a 3 hour charge anyway. I asked for my bed to be assembled and Albert did that quickly. Lessons learned: - even with my studio apartment, it still took at least 3 hours so don't think your place will take less time and consider looking at vendors that charge a 3 hour minimum. - there are so many fees that each vendor may or may not charge so even with a spreadsheet it wasn't an easy calculation across the board. - if you have the money I'd hire movers. We confirmed the exact moving time the day before, but on the moving day, the truck never showed up on time. It was extremely stressful, and they only answered the phone long after the scheduled time. As a result, the move was delayed by several hours. It was the worst experience. Although they loaded our belongings into the truck quickly, unloading them into the new home was extremely slow. Perhaps it was because we weren't supervising them closely, but even though we didn't have much stuff, it took an unreasonably long time, which led to a very high charge. There was no reason it should have taken that long. On top of that, later we found that our new baby crib had multiple rope marks and dents left from the move. I moved from Santa Ana to Anaheim today (1 bedroom apartment, from 8:10 AM to 1:10 PM) and had a great experience with the guys at OFF-CZN. I reached out to multiple moving services via Yelp and Mike replied promptly. OFF-CZN doesn't have your typical pricing structure (no hour minimums, but does require a $145 deposit) which made it difficult for me to compare to other movers, but Mike hopped on the phone with me twice to discuss the exact details and ultimately persuaded me - he's quite the salesman lol. However, keep in mind that OFF-CZN is likely NOT the cheapest possible moving service out there despite what Mike says. Arturo and Aaron were my movers and were hard working, efficient, and very communicative. As promised, they reached out 20-30 min before they arrived via text, and were able to maneuver the weird-shaped terrain of my old apartment with ramps and wheels for the boxes. They broke down my IKEA couch and bed (which they later rebuilt), and moved my TV stand, coffee table, and other large items in one piece. My move also included lamps, a 5 ft cat tree, a desk, desk chair, monitor, and several large & small boxes. They handled it all, including up a single flight of stairs at my new apartment (there is an additional charge for stairs). I was extra grateful because I was able to arrange a fridge disposal on top of the move service. **I will update my review if I discover damages while unpacking over the next few days. It was daunting for me to tackle my first move alone but OFF-CZN made the process easy. I especially appreciated that they were considerate about my cat, who I kept in the bathroom at the new apartment and had to move every time they needed to use it lol. However, the final price did take me off guard, which is why I've settled on 4/5 stars. I packed everything ahead of the move, filled my own car with bags and boxes to bring over alongside the moving truck, and was working alongside the movers all day, but it still took OFF-CZN over 5 hours. At the high price I paid ($900+), I wish I could have covered the effort of the entire move. Please note, any job that takes over 5 hours will include a 30 min paid lunch break for the movers, and the drive to/from you is included in that time (for transparency, Mike discounted the 30 min to me, and did charge the 30 min back). I had originally been quoted 4 hours but ended up paying for 6 hours before the additional fees such as fuel charge, stairs charge, etc. I was able to pay the cash price through Zelle, which saved me a trip to the ATM and some savings (though I did pay the deposit with credit card, which incurred a $9 fee). Needed help moving a sofa and a love seat (2 pieces) from the ground floor of one home to the ground floor of another home less than 10 miles away. Was quoted $125 per hour plus a $65 fuel charge for the job for a total of $190. I gave them the info and they called me and on the call told me that it's another hour charge for them to drive to me and back to their work location so now it's two hours plus the cost of fuel for a total over $300. Since when is it my problem to cover their costs to get to me based on their location and to cover their costs back to their company? Call them up at the very last minute the day before and they somehow managed to throw a teams together and execute a move for a large three-story luxury townhome in downtown Huntington Beach. Arrival time was supposed to be 1-3PM. Off-Czn arrived at 7:30PM. That's about 4.5-6.5 hours off target. Off-Czn wrapped up their work around 1AM. It was a late night for everyone. I really really really wanted to have a good experience with Off-Czn! But overall I didn't. My fiancé reached out to Off Czn through Yelp about a week and a half out. Michael was incredibly responsive! He gave us a fair quote and was the only mover that didn't have a minimum number of hours to book. We agreed on a 1-3PM arrival on a Saturday. The day before our move Michael gave my fiancé a call to say that they would potentially run an hour late (to 4PM) since they had someone before us. Okay! No big deal. 3PM the day of, Michael texted us saying they were running closer to 5PM. Okay, later than we wanted, but it would have to do. Michael reached out to us again around 3:15 to say it would now be 6PM. He mentioned that the customer before us added more items than they communicated and that they were not anticipating that. My fiancé and I realized we were wasting time waiting around. Since the movers were coming much later than expected, we decided to move as much of the heavy stuff that we could ourselves in order to lessen the amount of time we needed the movers. At 6PM they said they were packing up the previous job and were 40 min away. At one point they said they were 20 min out. 20 minutes later they said they were 10 min out. As they texted us updates on their whereabouts, time continued to add up. They ended up arriving around 7:30 PM. The movers themselves were friendly and nice. They were very thorough with prepping our furniture which we appreciated. It also meant that it took quite a while to move the boxes, prepare the furniture, and load the truck. They packed up the truck and left our old place around 10:00. The movers needed to take a break after they finished up at our old place. So they ended up arriving to our new place perhaps a little before 11. The movers worked really hard. They worked as hard as they could to finish the job. It was a bit miserable for everyone since it was late and it's not fun to be moving furniture in the middle of the night. It was pitch black outside and we ended up with some missing and damaged items (parts of appliances, plants). The movers didn't seem overtly grumpy or tired. They kept their energy up as best as they could. But how energetic can movers be late at night and after a long day. I know everyone was just trying to make the best out of a difficult situation. My fiancé and I were obviously frustrated but we didn't want to take it out on the movers as we knew it wasn't their fault. We thought they might be hungry so we offered them some food and water. It was extremely inconvenient for us for the movers to be hours late. Michael was apologetic and did give us updates, but they just arrived so late. Based on the original arrival time of the movers, we planned to have most things moved by the late afternoon and wanted to start putting things away in the evening. Obviously, that didn't happen. We even planned to have a group of friends over to help us move our stuff after the movers finished their job. Our friends ended up staying the entire time and they helped us move all our stuff around at 1am. We planned on having the Off-Czn movers set up the bed but it was so late in the night we just had them put down everything any where they could so that they could wrap up their work and we decided to just take care of the rest. We ended up talking to Michael the next day to express our frustrations. We appreciate him being available, taking the time to hear us out, and offering accommodations. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience. I acknowledge that they have a ton of 5 star reviews. But after what we experienced, I wouldn't personally recommend this service. I understand a couple hours late. But 7:30 was later than late. I do appreciate the fact that they came even though it was late. But ultimately, I didn't feel like our time was respected as we lost a lot of time and there was a lot of stress added to our experience. I do wish the best for Off-Czn! It's evident through the reviews that most people have a great experience with Off-Czn. But in the chance that you might have an experience like ours, I'm not sure the risk is worth it. read more

They even offered to go above and beyond, but they have done plenty and I can't stop smiling because of the whole process.
