I have Yelp to thank for this one! We were driving in OKC and fish sounded good, but we didn't want anything fancy or too expensive. I went to Yelp and this was the first choice. I am so glad we found it! We live a couple of hours away, and so anytime we are able to visit OKC and eat here, we do! My favorite is the fried catfish and fries, while my husband likes it grilled. He loves the seasoning. I have also tried the catfish po' boy and it was delicious. The tartar sauce is good and goes perfectly with the fish, which is not too salty and the breading is perfect. We also tried one of their lemonades, which was really good, and the sweet tea is awesome. The desserts look delicious, but I haven't gotten to try any yet. (They have pecan pie though, so I must soon!) They are always friendly and fast, and if it's a nice day, you can enjoy your meal outside. I look forward to stopping in the next time I can! read more

I guess (apparently) I'm part of the minority. I had the shrimp and grits with "spinach-lobster sauce" which tasted nothing like spinach and more importantly, lobster. I got about a little over a cup of grits (spread out on a 6" foil lined plastic shallow bowl. I expected to dig in, but immediately struck the bottom of the plastic. The shrimp (5) were OK, but not outstanding. I NEVER finish a meal, but I did today. I can't say anything about whatever else is on the menu. So on 07/02/206 made a second visit to this restaurant, now in a brick and mortar location. My wife and I placed an order and ahead of time decided to get something different from what we got last time, to hopefully make for a better experience. So this time I got the crawfish poboy with garlic fries and she got the "big" catfish basket with okra (at least that was how the front counter lady sold us on it). Wait for the food was about 10-12mins not bad at all. Now for the food: the "big catfish basket" was not that at all. The fish filet was average, I've cooked bigger fillets at home. (In comparison, the catfish fillets at Pearls in Bricktown are the same size so maybe they are using the same supplier?) the fish was quite tasty, just was by no means a "big" piece of fish. The okra was rather bland, typical bulk frozen fried okra that after a few bites you end up throwing most of it away because it just wasn't seasoned correctly. Better to go with making your own then buying the typical Sodexho bulk box okra. The Crawfish Poboy had plentiful crawfish in it, my only complaint was that the bread was torn most likely from splitting it and laying it on the flat grill to toast it. When I went to pick it up everything fell out of it back into the basket! Using a slightly thicker bread or just not cutting the bread too deep when splitting it before laying it on the flat grill would fix this. While not a big fan of leaf lettuce (shredded lettuce or cabbage is what is traditionally on a poboy) the sandwich overall was very good, not to overwhelming with the sauce and unlike my last time around, I actually finished this item it was pretty good. The Garlic Fries were a nice compliment, I ended up sharing those with my wife as her okra was just horrible. So second attempt, I'd give this trip 3.5 stars, much better food items (except for the okra) Selected this time around, and even though the catfish was in no way "big", it still was very flavorful and enjoyable. read more

I love spicy food and these didn't seem very spicy to me at all, but they were still good. I love coming to this place. The staff is great and the catfish is as good as my grandmother's (which is not an easy feat). I usually go about about 2 Fridays a month and I can't say I've regretted a single visit. I admit I do stay away from ordering the fried okra because I haven't had 2 good orders in a row. The fried catfish was excellent! Large thick piece of catfish with a nicely seasoned cornmeal batter. I had macaroni and cheese for my side, great flavor, lots of cheese, pasta was overdone for my preference but it was still good. That's the only reason I gave it 4*, I would have given 4 1/2 if I could. My husband had the Flying Pig sandwich (pulled pork) with garlic fries. He really liked both. First off this place has a great product. Love the food. Although terrible customer service. Previously I had been here twice, but it had been several months ago. I returned to the North side location for my third time on Tuesday, September around 12:15 PM for lunch. I went through the drive through. The lady taking my order made me repeat everything I ordered multiple times. It was annoying, but to fair I contributed it to street noise and the wind. I was trying to remember what I ordered months ago. Anyways I was not certain, so I just ordered the fish and shrimp basket. After pulling around and waiting to pay I realized that I for sure messed up. What I had previously ordered had grits on it. That is what I wanted cause it was bomb. I told the young lady working the window of the mistake I had made and she immediately rolled her eyes and gave me the rudest facial expression followed by a rude comment. Basically she went out of her way to make me feel like an idiot. Man it was my mistake I get it, but I didn't quite understand a customer trying to modify the order justifying that kind of reaction. Anyways she didn't know how to change the order on the computer system, so she calls over another young lady. They started talking and you can tell by their body language and conversation they are very frustrated with me over the situation. The lady that was called over asked me questions to confirm my order, and I politely answered them. Both the ladies turn around and I hear a loud grunt/ sigh with the window still open as they head back to the computer. Come on people...like I can totally hear you. I have had bad experiences before, but never to this level. The two young ladies had no shame or care about how openly rude, disrespectful and hateful they were being towards me over the changing of an order. They created a very uncomfortable environment and experience on this day. After this I was like forget it I am not about to take this treatment and drop $18 (which is a lot of money for lunch) at this establishment. I don't care how great the product is. So I drove off and went to another place for lunch. I want the owners to be made aware of my bad experience. I do not believe this to be a good representation of who they are and what there about, but I view this kind of customer service as totally unacceptable.
