Nice place , but service is extremely slow . I ended up taking everything to go because I can't rationalize waiting 40 minutes for a simple sunny side egg breakfast . I went in on a Sunday , and it was practically empty - which is not normal for Sunday brunches in miami . I didn't mind - in fact I enjoyed that it was empty, until I waited and waited and waited for a simple toast and then it was too much by that point . read more

Very slow service, after I ordered food they are telling me they are out of potatoes and choose something else. Extra charged me for OJ, and was told ya the menu price is wrong and we will have to change that. Overall poor customer service. Not a good food. read more

Delicious Italian for dinner. Almost everything comes with risotto. So no matter what try the risotto. Highly highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious coffee and Cuban bread. Nice decor and atmosphere (felt like an upper scale dinner place) and there was no wait at all. My husband and I didn't really enjoy our actual meals, however. His eggs were supposed to be over easy but they were too hard (not runny) and my omelet had such an excessive amount of cheese that I could hardly eat it. The omelet was also a tad overcooked so it was dry with brown spots instead of fluffy and smooth. The coffee and bread were amazing, so I would go again and order different meals. read more

I don't usually write a review on my first visit to a restaurant because some are a "hit-and-miss". However, we've had several very good dining experiences at Off the Mile and unreservedly recommend it. The atmosphere is relaxed, mellow background music, lighting is dimmed, good service, consistently tasty, varied and well prepared dishes, plus parking! in the middle of Urban Gables ... what more can one ask for? We had for appetizers Calamaris, grilled octopus, gnocchi with pears. For dinner ahi tunas and peppercorn new york strip. Prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is small but cozy and very nice. Wonderful place for breakfast/brunch! It's a hole in the wall next to a Vicky's Bakery. We went on an early afternoon on a Sunday, it was pretty much empty while the bakery was packed but I enjoyed that. It was very calm and quiet unlike most Cuban restaurants. Mediocre at best. Ate lunch at 12:15 and they were out of the daily special (chicken and rice). Ordered coke never came. Palomilla steak arrived over cooked, dry and tasteless. Bland beans too. Server never returned to inquire until I was ready to leave. First and last visit. read more

Service is terrible, Michael is rude and has no clue how to run a restaurant. Rude, condescending and disrespectful are just a few words. Excellent experience for Friday evening dinner. Great service with knowledgeable, friendly and attentive staff. Great place at present for a quiet meal to talk with others......I suspect it will be very busy very soon..... Two couples had the Caprese salad, Cesar salad, Osa Buca, Lamb Chops, and chicken Francesca. All great. The bread ( home baked) and garlic humus were a treat also as was a great cup of coffee at the end. All at a very reasonable price. We will be back with other friends too. This is the worst place I have ever had brunch at they sent part of the meal 1/2 hr apart and that was just the starter. And still waiting for over 1 hr for some omelet eggs. I will never come back and would never recommend this place . I would give it -5 stars if I could. read more

We walk past this restaurant on our way to Miracle Mile and finally stopped in for a meal. The service was very friendly and food was delicious. The food did take awhile, which to us means it is fresh-not made and then reheated and gives us time to talk. We have since walked over a few times to have some wine and been treated warmly. It is a change of pace from the noisier restaurants right on the Mile. Parking is easy and free too. read more

Tried this place for the first time today because they are close to us and it was raining and we didn't want to travel far. We had their carpaccio as appetizer which was excellent! Later my husband had a skirt steak he loved and I had the Chicken Marsala which was equally good. The service was lovely by Xani and Yuni. The reason I especially loved this place was because it's very pretty, cozy and inexpensive so I would highly recommend it for a date night for a couple who wants a chance at the food and trimmings without paying a lot of money, they even have parking so you don't pay a fortune in valet. Had Dinner at Off The Mile last night and it was fantastic. The Calamari was fresh and super crispy.... the best in the Gables! We loved the risotto with shrimp and the clams and pasta....super garlicky and done to perfection. Desserts were yummy and made for a perfect ending. Our server was very attentive and responded to our every need. We even had a chance to talk with the owner who could not have been more charming. As you can tell, we LOVE Off The Mile and can't wait to return. read more

Pros: It's in a nice area and the building is up kept. The decor and ambiance is very nice and clean, as well as the bathrooms. The brunch menu is decent and has a lot of options depending on your taste and they have a nice array of coffee choices. The food was very good as well and the service was very attentive. Cons: The parking situation out front is pretty bad- there are very few spots and most of them are meter. We waited over 30 minutes to receive our meals (not including the coffee and complimentary Cuban bread) and when we did they had given me fried eggs instead of the scrambled and over easy eggs like my fiancé and I had requested. Not a big deal but we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant at this time aside from one other patron who had been there since before we arrived, so for them to get part of our order wrong and for it to take so long to prepare and deliver was a little disappointing. My husband and I had dined here a few times and enjoyed it so much, we've invited friends to join us. We then decided to have our son's graduation lunch here and it was the best decision! Joe and Michael, the owners, met with me to make menu selections, gave me suggestions, and examples from another similar event, and we exchanged phone numbers and that was it! I didn't have to give a deposit or sign anything. I was told "we treat our customers like family" and that was it. The week before the event I confirmed the number of people with Michael and we scheduled a meeting at the restaurant a few days before the lunch. I met with Xanadu who is awesome! She took notes of everything, gave me her number and told me to bring her all the decorations the night before. The night before I took all of the decorations, balloons, banners, and everything for the candy table and she took care of setting up everything for me so when we arrived for the lunch the next day, it was all beautifully set up! The food was delicious, the service was superb and our families (42 of them) all ate, drank and had a wonderful time.
