I want to give this place 5 stars but I can't after our experience today. I made a reservation for a large party of 20, we showed up at the time of our reservation just to find out that someone apparently stole our reservation. They claimed that this party changed it from 20 people to 8 upon arrival. I told them I could show them my confirmation from them and they scrambled to accommodate knowing they were in the wrong. We waited a half hour longer and then were put in the cramped, messy cafe area with only one server. He did a great job and thus why I'm giving two stars but definitely needed help. Most of the food came out cold, items not coming with plates like syrup for French toast and the food was just thrown on the plates looking messy. On top of it, one of my party members found an unknown item in her salad which no one could figure out what it was. We weren't told they only had flavored coffee for brunch, which was hazelnut, and luckily no one had a nut allergy within our group. My friend and I had just spent the weekend at the Turning Stone and had a few hours before her flight, so we yelped for a place for Sunday brunch in Syracuse. The menu for this place looked good, so we tried it. WOW! I had a difficult time deciding, the brunch menu had so many tasty choices. I tried the bacon praline pancakes and my friend had the lemon ricotta. They were both amazing. The lemon ricotta had a nice lemony flavor and the ricotta made them so moist they did not need syrup. The praline on my pancakes gave it an amazing taste. I usually slather pancakes with syrup, but it wasn't necessary with these. We also split a side of mac and cheese. I loved this, it had a nice tangy cheese flavor. So many places, the mac and cheese tastes like it could have come out of a box. Not this. There were several different flavors of cheese. This was a pleasant little cafe, not crowded around noon on Sunday. We parked on the street about a block away. Easy to get to off I-81. read more

We went to Oh My Darling for breakfast and waited an hour to be seated. After a male waiter took our order, we waited another 58 minutes for the food to arrive. The entrée was missing the chicken on top and the waiter didn't bring a parfait we ordered. We assumed that the waiter went to bring the rest of the order, but he didn't come back. After waiting for 15 minutes, we asked to speak to a manger. The waiter suddenly returned to our table fuming, "What seems to be the problem" he said angrily. We told him that the order is missing some items and the food is already cold. The waiter sarcastically replied, "Yah, what do you expect, you gave us a bad review?" We were shocked, and explained to him that a review is meant to help the restaurant improve its service, not retaliate against the customer for not being satisfied. The waiter started yelling and pointing his finger at us making a scene. An employee by the name of Matt, came to our table and apologized for what the waiter did. He gave us a gift card and urged us to come back, but unfortunately, we lost trust in the people and what they might do to our food behind close doors. read more

Super cute ambience and very spacious. Lots of different options to choose from, and the drink selection looked great too. They have high chairs for babies/toddlers and a changing table in the bathroom, which is always a plus! Great service as well. It does get crowded and a little noisy. read more

Easily one of if not the best restaurant in downtown Syracuse! Not only is this place beautiful in its design/layout, the food is astounding. You won't go wrong with whatever you choose, but strongly consider the maple salmon, scallops (which I didn't see on the menu recently so hopefully they return) or a chicken based handheld. Had an outstanding sandwich with bacon avocado tomato and lettuce with a maple aioli side dipping sauce for sweet potato fries. Michael had fish tacos nicely grilled and put together. Really fun decor, servers and menu! Perfect place to have brunch with family and friends! Banana bread french toast and bloody mary's are wonderful! This place was not worth returning to. The high metal ceiling made conversions so loud that I couldn't hear my dinner partner without screaming. My eggplant entree was uncooked, tiny and barely had any filling. I couldn't even cut it and had to leave half in the plate. A last minute birthday dinner, turned out to be everythig I didn't know I needed... even in the moment of nearing closing the customer service was immaculate. the food was Devine and that has been by far the most delightful maple bourbon salmon. Oh my darling was anything but a darling experience. Walking in I was pleased with the overall aesthetic's of the place with the high exposed ceilings and brass and glass open shelving of the bar area. The first thing we ordered was coffee which was brought warm and without a spoon to stir. The server forgot the spoon altogether even though I reminded her. After tasting the coffee we asked that hot coffee be brought( that should not have to be specified). This time the manager came out and explained that the coffee was warm because we had added cream to it and that she was going to make us a fresh pot which she did but when she brought it out she brought three sugars for us to share and still no spoons. We ordered the flatbread and a side of roasted cauliflower. The cauliflower was respectable but the flatbread was dull and flat. The crust wasn't baked all the way and the mozzarella wasn't even melted on top. The server had actually brought me the cauliflower dinner instead of the side and charged me three times the amount for it. Strictly lousy for dinner this week. Signature burger ordered medium rare came very well done, not surprisingly 40 minutes later. Goat cheese croquette and bacon jam on it were indistinguishable; even the bun, sort of an English muffin was bad news. Honey-dipped crispy chicken was soggy and greasy, overloaded with salt and rubbery. Bartenders are inept - two of them couldn't handle four people at the bar and get me a Diet Coke without waiting 15 minutes. Was recently in Syracuse Memorial Day weekend and decided to give this place a try. Upon arrival my husband and I were greeted and seated promptly, however there were only two other tables occupied inside and about 3 or 4 outside. Service was a bit slow, but we were cool because the staff was pretty friendly. My husband ordered the Rosemary Hot Honey Dipped Chicken and I ordered the Darling burger. I must admit my burger was pretty amazing, I look across at my husband face as he is cutting into his second piece of chicken and he has a look of disgust on his face, 2/3 pieces were not fully cooked. A woman (I believe she is the owner) comes over apologizes and said she will take care of it. Now this is where it goes from bad to worst, the replacement order was less done than the first order. I'm giving one star for my burger and the service, sending out raw chicken is unacceptable. Nice ambiance and cocktail selection, if you must go DO NOT ORDER THE CHICKEN!!! read more

I was very excited to try this place, as my girlfriend and I were thinking of renting one of the apartments above the restaurant. The decor is attractive and inviting, with a creative menu that complements the space. On the surface, Oh My Darling promises an experience unlike any other in downtown Syracuse. Despite the welcoming and attentive waitstaff and hostess, we left the restaurant feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. To start, we ordered calamari- a small portion that came out cold. Hesitantly, we decided to send it back, still optimistic about the meal. All was ok when it came back hot, which was the only redeeming quality. We decided to order the grilled cauliflower steak and the Darling burger, with a side of their signature "Mac n cheese." Firstly, the burger was cooked very well and was enjoyable. Truffles fries that came along with were decent and was filling, despite the small portion. The cauliflower steak consisted of: a large piece of cauliflower, sticky rice, asparagus and a curry sauce. The asparagus was the best part of the entree, as the sticky rice and curry were tasteless. The cauliflower seemed to be a bit undercooked as well. To say the least, the "signature" Mac n Cheese fell quite short. It was a small portion that was not only dry, but tasteless and looked like it had been left under a heat lamp for hours. Which probably evaporated all of the cheese sauce and made it even worse. Full disclosure- you're better off buying Kraft Mac n Cheese and asking the chef to cook it for you. Or better yet, swing by Wegmans and pick some up there. Overall, I think it is safe to say, we are still looking for an apartment... Go here for the atmosphere, the friendly waitstaff and drinks at the bar. I would recommend passing on the food. read more

So I first had drinks at the Fitz. They were fantastic. I had a great time there. But I really had to eat so I went upstairs with my husband to eat. I ordered the honey chicken. It was fine. Nothing to write home about but fine. Brussels=pretty good. Mac n'cheese=edible. But my husband ordered a lamb "porterhouse" special and it was horrible. It was chewy, fatty, boney, and not tasty. We told our waitress, who was lovely, but the management decided to comp our wine. Now on the surface that sounds great, but really what that is, is not taking responsibility for a crappy entree and just placating the customer with free drinks. I want to love this place. After driving around and paying to park we made our way in; just to be told the kitchen closes at in 15 minutes. Nowhere on the website did it say the kitchen closes at 3 to regroup for dinner. I'm torn between 3 or 4 stars so I'll give OMD the benefit of the doubt. This place has so much potential. I want it to succeed so badly and I can't wait to come back. The space is gorgeous and airy. But, maybe a little too airy? The space was almost empty when I arrived and it was almost too big for me and my friend to feel like we were having an intimate dinner. I anticipate this will change as business picks up. I loved my cocktail, the clementine whisky smash. We shared the calamari which was meh. I've had better in town. Though the banana peppers were a nice touch. I had an early dinner (6pm) and they did not offer several of the side dishes which left me less excited about ordering certain entrees. I settled in Lee Lees Chicken Sandwich per the servers recommendation. Simple food done well. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either. The service was personable and quick. I'll be back once OMD has had a chance to work out the kinks and I anticipate this will be on the regular downtown rotation! Here's hoping! read more

I've been here a few times and always wanted to give it another shot because I had heard such good things. First off, the restaurant is beautiful. The overall aesthetic is very trendy. But because it is so on trend, with it's updated warehouse interior, it is INCREDIBLY loud even when it is not busy. The food is ok. It is overpriced for what it is and how it is executed. The plating could be more upscale for the price range. I've had a dish with breaded chicken more than once, and have been with others who got either the chicken sandwich or fried chicken at different times, and the breading is always burnt but somehow still not crispy, every time. I do not think they are cooking the chicken at the correct temperature to achieve a golden brown fry crust and juicy chicken. The chicken is always moist, with the overcooked breading. The Mac and cheese is not creamy, it basically ends up being dry pasta with some baked on cheese each time. Most of the food is bland. Overall, this restaurant is just a bit disappointing after walking into such a beautiful interior. Service is usually very good, though! read more

Drinks were great. Food was ok. Service was terrible. One person in our party ordered a meal without the sauce because she doesn't eat dairy. They brought it and waitress swore the sauce she saw didn't contain dairy. Was annoyed when she asked her to double check. Low and beyond it was dairy and had to take it away. This is my new favorite restaurant in all of Syracuse!!! I have gone back four times in two weeks because of how great the food is and how great the ambiance and staff are as well. The location seems weird, but as soon as you walk in it is perfect!! I have gotten sweet potato fries, a special flatbread with peaches, Mac and cheese, salmon Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts and more. It was literally all so delicious. Our server was so attentive and the second I dropped my fork she came over with a new one, as well as brought my mom a new drink once she finished hers without my mom even asking. The food was delicious, the wait staff was friendly and the owner even came out to meet us! I highly recommend this restaurant and I am excited to return!
