Plenty of high and low tables inside. Lots of natural lighting, light pop music in the background, one flatscreen TV but not on at lunchtime. The 3-protein meal was plenty of food for one. I chose half spring greens and half brown rice for the base, corn, edamame, jalapeños, avocado and spicy crab (a scoop of each included here), cucumbers. My proteins were two of salmon and one of ahi tuna I combined the house ponzu sauce with firecracker and a little sesame oil. Fresh and very satisfying! read more

I visited Oh Poke in Claremont near the colleges and had such a good first experience. Brian was very nice and helpful with recommendations and even customized a bowl for me since I was a first timer and there were so many options to choose from. I got my poke bowl with chips as the base so I could scoop the fish and it was amazingly good. I added furikake and hot Cheetos on top for extra flavor and they also have spam musubis. Their scoop portions are very generous so the price is definitely worth it, solid 5 out of 5 stars. Been coming here for years and it's my go to poke place! I always get the 3 scoops of shrimp for my bowl. The food is always fresh, never had an issue with that. The service is quick, you go in and can get out in 5-10 minutes depending on the line. Only issue is it can feel warm/stuffy in there. Not a great feeling/vibe to have when ordering seafood or fresh ingredients, but the food is kept at a good cold temp. So it's not a worry of that. Give this place a try!! read more

I had to walk through a hallway or something like that. Anyway, the gentleman who helped me was very nice. He explained to me how the process works. YES, there is supposedly a six steps process for your poke creation LOL... 1. Choose your size - bowl or burrito + how many scoops of protein 2. Choose your base - white rice, brown rice, others 3. Choose your add ons - various vegetables, avocado is always free 4. Choose your protein - salmon, tuna, others 5. Choose your handcrafted sauce - oke house sauce, spicy mayo, others 6. Choose your top offs - sesame seeds, furikake (crunchy salty seasoning), others I got the bowl + 3 scoops of salmon (my fav fish) + avocado + some veggies (don't remember) + oke house sauce (first time trying it so have to go with their house sauce) + furikake. I don't remember the cost, but I'm sure it's gone up by now. I dined in instead of taking it to go... place wasn't too big... quite cozy actually. Anyway, I loved my salmon poke bowl! Just delish! All that freshness from salmon to veggies and the house sauce was AMAZING! I'm missing it right now... I think I need to pick up something at Trader Joe's this weekend. It's a pretty solid poke spot, with a good selection of fish that are relatively fresh. With a variety of toppings to pick from, you can customize to your liking. You also have the option to mix all of your toppings or just keep them separate and placed on top of the rice. I opted for mixing all of the toppings and I think that it offers a nice diverse flavor. There are two options for the poke bowls, either 3 scoops of protein or 5 scoops. I got 5 scoops but I felt like the portion was a bit small for my preference. After finishing the poke bowl, I felt that I was about 60% full, but it was still pretty tasty. The service was good and quick; the server was quite nice and put an extra scoop of a specific topping when I asked. In terms of the ambiance, there was quite the fishy smell in the restaurant so I had to do takeout. Overall, I think the plethora of sauces and toppings mix well with their fish and if you are craving poke, this place is worth a try. read more

I just ordered off of DoorDash and was pretty disappointed. I only upgraded to two stars because my poke bowl was delicious. I ordered a 3 scoop bowl and 2 pcs of spam musubi. Before they confirmed my order, the restaurant cut it from 2 pcs to one piece. I was curious as to why so I called the restaurant to get an explanation. No one answered. Okay fine, no big deal. So my order arrives and it's my bowl and 1 piece of spam musubi. The musubi was wrapped in seran wrap. That screams pre-made to me, not fresh. It was cold (which in every other spam musubi experience I've ever had it's at least warm) and the rice was stale. I mean, it doesn't even look appetizing in the picture. I took one bite, spit it out, and threw it away. Worst spam musubi I've ever had. Is this as good as what you'll get in Hawaii? No. Still, if you're wanting a meal of fresh flavors and enjoy seafood, the poke here will satisfy. I love that they do not charge extra for avocado unlike some places. Also, they have more protein options than other places such as octopus and crawfish. Plus, the imitation crab doesn't count against one of your proteins. I usually get the large bowl which has 5 scoops, and that is enough to make it into 2 smaller meals. The sweet onions are not from Maui, but Mexico and are pretty good. The spicy ahi is also different than what you get in Hawaii. The choice of fish was ahi, spicy ahi, albacore, and salmon. They also had crab (imitation ?) and spicy crab. They had a good variety of sprinkles and sauces as toppings that made the bowl tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful. Literally served me and my boyfriend rotten fish. At first we couldn't smell how bad the fish was because it had sauce dumped all over it masking the smell, and it looked an okay color. After the first bite though I stopped eating, studied the fish closer, smelled it, and realized. My boyfriend powered through and kept eating, not wanting to waste $15 by throwing his food away, insisting there was no way we could be served rotten fish. He threw up halfway through his bowl he was so disgusted. Let me just say I am a hardcore sushi lover and I eat raw fish multiple times a week and frequent many different sushi/poke restaurants. I'm not squeamish by any means but this was LITERALLY putrid rotten salmon. You can tell immediately it wasn't stored or prepared correctly, just by taste.
