When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.

FANTASTIC PLACE FOR FOOD AND A PARTY!…read more I had the privilege of being invited to a party with some friends who had booked their event with Sea Queen Restaurant and I cannot deny that I was only impressed with the food, decor, staff, and the entire experience. If you are interested in booking your own event here, I recommend it. If you have no events coming up and just want some amazing food, still come here for that too! Amazing dishes are cooked and served here. It is mostly Vietnamese cuisine that you would find here, but hey... who doesn't enjoy this kind of cuisine? There is so much this restaurant has to offer. Not to mention there are weekly events; even a karaoke night. Lastly, if you enjoy sea snails, escargot, and don't want to drive out of the IE to the OC for some... just come here!

(Not sure if he's the manager now or a different person, but every server here is polite and efficient). We get the kickin combo #1, kickin style, mild with shrimp and mussels; fried oysters; garlic noodles. I feel like the sausages at this location are bigger compared to CH. Food comes out reasonably fast. Restrooms are always clean. There are sinks outside to wash your hands as well.

Typically I…read morevisit seafood boil places that aren't connected to a chain , and are standalone establishments. This place has only inside seating (about 30-40 tables roughly , with 10-15ish of them being booths). I would have preferred and option for outside seating , but this spot didn't have that. Staff is friendly and very attentive. We were seated almost as soon as we walked in , this was on a Saturday around 3:00pm. Menu was simple to read and provided many different options for however you wanted your boil without any confusion. Menu options were fairly priced , I'd say. Shrimp was $19.99 per pound and there were options for head on or head off (additional $2). For the snow crab, it's always market price and that day it was on the pricier side of $51 per pound (ouch) , but makes sense. We didn't get any other types of seafood but there were bundles that are offered with smaller seafood types (mussels, crawfish, shrimp and clams (I think), lol. The staff provided bibs, gloves and necessary tools for crab cutting. Food: we purchased fries as an appetizer and they were freaking delicious ! Hands down, the best fries I've had in a long time . I pretty much ate the whole basket smh, before my boil even got to me. I believe they use the mild Cajun spice for the fries and also they are crispy and soft , providing fry lovers with something to talk about for sure. And also not that expensive and a huge portion served for $7 (this a deal for deals). For my boil I ate the shrimp , added corn , potatoes and andouille sausage, with Cajun spicy flavor. I had no complaints , the flavor was there and complimented my purchased food items very well. My daughter opted for all the flavors , as she doesn't like spicy and it also tasted great with her shrimp , crab and corn. No complaints there. Entertainment : the tartar btw does have several tvs around , and also music is up to date playing hits from 90's and up. It was a little too loud , as you had to pretty much talk over the music to hear whomever from across the table, but again, I like to choose outside seating to avoid this lol. Bathroom is clean and shared , with individual restrooms with doors (no stalls). Parking: lot is connected with other establishments and there were plenty of spaces to park. I personally had a good experience , however if others don't, I can understand because I did witness a few folks who were getting seated after us and it did take a while for staff to get to them, so organization/communication would be better with that, but that's about it.

The flavor and seafood were absolutely on point. My group of five ordered the Snow Star Family Bucket with Full House sauce, and everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. Portions were solid and we all left very full and very satisfied. If I had to nitpick: The mild Full House sauce was a little spicy for something labeled "mild." Still tasty, just a heads-up for anyone sensitive to heat. The fried calamari was good flavor-wise, but it was a bit light on calamari and heavy on fries. Small side note: my wife and I love having boiled eggs with our seafood boil, but unfortunately they don't offer boiled eggs here. Not a deal-breaker, just something we personally missed. Overall though, great food, great service, and a spot I'd happily come back to again. Easily our favorite Star Crab so far.

We were seated right…read moreaway, but they initially placed us at a table in the middle that was too small for our group of six, so we requested a booth along the wall instead. They provided us menus, pretty straightforward; choose seafood, add sides for an extra cost, choose the flavor, and the spice level. One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

The style, decor, music and ambiance was warm and inviting. The service was excellent, everyone was nice, friendly and worked well as a unit. Let's get to the food... I'll start by saying yes, yes and yes. From the appetizers to the desert.. spot on! To start we had cocktails. My wife had the Bayou Berry Smash, and I went with the Pecan Hips Old Fashion. The bartender did his thing on those cocktails. For the appetizer we chose Craw Fish Pies. The crust was buttery and flaky. There was just enough filling to get some in every bite. For the main courses, she chose the Sautéed Quater Catfish. She substituted the sauteed catfish for fried. The fish is served over a satuee of shrimp, crab, creole rice and ratatouille. It was exceptional! It was a big portion, but she ate every bit of it. Literally, no notes. I ordered the Crawfish St. Charles. A whole perfectly fried catfish filet on a bed of etouffée. The plating was beautiful and creative. There was a crawfish peeking through the curled end of the filet, which was fried to perfection. It was succulent, hot, crunchy, and juicy. That d!%# crawfish etouffée had me looking for a granny to walk out of the kitchen. It was sooo good, the perfect amount of spice and herbs, balanced with the gravy and crawfish and was perfect. We also ordered a side of red beans and rice. I had to try it, and it didn't disappoint. Once again they knocked it out of the park. The spice level, the texture of the beans and that smokey sausage hit the mark. To finish ourselves off we had the Croissant Beignets. All I can say is little pillows of heaven! We will most definitely pay them another visit. Pro Tip.. make sure you order the sausage with your red beans and Rice, the order doesn't come with it.

Drinks: - All the drinks were strong but the strongest was the hurricane (lots of rum). I found all the drinks to have a good amount of alcohol and tasty. The Berry Smash was probably my least favorite but not bad - very sweet though. Appetizers - Brussels Sprouts had a heavy balsamic flavor that was strong in flavor but enjoyable - frog legs - you get a good number of pieces and I don't get to eat this often so definitely worth a try - gumbo small - individual sized gumbo that has a little kick with a mix of seafood options Entrees - Quarter Catfish (fried was recommended) - nice piece size that was fried well and tasty, there was lump crab with a butter sauce that was great (I actually liked this more than the catfish) - Crawfish Pasta - not bad but decent. not the most flavorful considering most things were. - shrimp jambalaya - you can substitute the rice for pasta - strong kick, a little dry as pasta and decent Desserts: - Bread pudding in bourbon sauce - comes out sizzling and made in house; wasn't my favorite I think the sauce was too much - Carrot cake - definitely the best dessert they have; reminds me of a carrot cake cinnabon - Cheesecake - the top layer has a very sharp cheddar taste; not your classic mild cheesecake - you must really like cheese to enjoy this Overall I thought the food items they really experimented with and enjoyed the creativity. I don't think everything sat well with my taste but the food was very enjoyable and not too pricey. Staff was very polite though service was slow with the entrees I enjoyed our waiter a lot. Not too many creole food places that I've found that I've enjoyed and had an overall good experience here. Food wasn't perfect, but I applaud them on the uniqueness of the food, friendly waiter, and local business. Would definitely come back again. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5
