Service is ok 50/50 depending on when you go but overall experience of the food is good, on a good day, they make their rounds on tables ensuring good service and dishing orders out in a timely manner. I've been to a lot of Korean BBQ restaurants, but this spot is definitely the best I've been to so far! They have a call button feature which was really effective for ensuring fast service. The food was really well marinaded and juicy, our BBQ grill was changed out quickly each time it got dirty, they came to check on us quickly whether or not we pushed the cal button, and they made sure our water pitcher stayed full (something I noticed many Korean BBQ places would often neglect). This has also been the first spot I've been to that had 'half portions' of the grilled meats, a great option to make sure you're not wasteful and charged for it. We were waiting for at least 10 minutes & 4 servers noticed us standing there already. Not one of them acknowledged our presence. We had to go inside to inform the cashier that we'd been waiting without acknowledgement. Finally, a server informed us that our table is being cleaned. Social distancing was observed by keeping every other table empty. They don't serve free salad anymore & the bonchon were only down to 6 choices, from 8-10 pre-lockdown. We requested for 2 bowls of rice but it took at least 3 different servers to finally deliver them to our table. Service on this day was not the same as before but the quality & affordability is still there. You just need to have loads of patience on waiting time. My very first Korean BBQ in the states. In Japan it's called "yakiniku" and there are restaurants like this all over the place. Not hard to find, and it's always all you can eat and you can go up and choose your own meat. Anyways, I gave it a go with a party of 7. It was crowded and they did try to seat everyone as fast as they could. They would switch out people who would tell out names and the second guy was just going around people asking for their name and what party and searching it on the clipboard - but they way they take no reservations after 5 as well as no same day reservation. Put your name on the clipboard and wait! So we get seated in an enclosed area because we had a big party. The rules were pretty strict. It was either you all get all you can eat or you don't. If you don't finish your meat you're charged $10 a person, can't take leftovers home etc. The first guy who took our order was pleasant, he explained everything to us so we understood. We ordered out first meats, Bulgogi and chicken as well as some veggies. They were marinated very well and was delicious! And this is coming from an Asian who has very high standards on Asian restaurants in the states. We asked for rice and the guy said they're cooking it right now, and he would bring it up as soon as it's done. So we waited for a bit, nothin. So a different waiter came in to check on us (#2) and we asked about the rice, he then came back saying it was cooking so it would be about 10 minutes. Alright...it had already been like 15 minutes prior to asking the first guy. Then we had another guy check in on us (#3). There's also a little bell you can ring to get service which is handy. Then a girl came in the check in on us (#4). Then the other guy came in to check in on us again. At that time we just gave up on the rice. We were never going to see it, so we just kept ordering meat to make up for it. Worth it. Another different guy came in check in (#5). In the very end, the person who gave us our check and charged us out was another different person (#6). I hate inconsistency. One person should be waiting/dealing with one table/section so they know what's going on. Unless they all went on break or home, and if they did, then tell us. "So and so is on break so I'm taking over for him/her". That's what I've been told at other restaurants. Dock a star there for having 6 different people deal with our table. Dock another star for not having rice. Being told we would get rice multiple times and still not receiving it. Everyone else had rice, except out table. I did enjoy the meat, it was good. Its been a long time since we've had korean bbq because of covid but im so glad we decided on this fantasic place. We got seated almost instantly, got our meat orders in right away and side dishes brought out ASAP. Our server name was Andrea and she made our experience 10x more enjoyable. She guided us on what she recommends to order and frequently checked in on us to make sure everything was good despite it being a packed house. She was even great with my kids as they had small convos as she checks up on our table, they liked her so much that even to this day my kids ask, "I want to go see Andrea!". As me and my wife were enjoying our meal, my wife proceeded to tell me how great she thought of Andrea which is awesome because was she's usually a hard ass when it comes to servers but she genuinely likes her. I then noticed my wife writing her number on the receipt saying " call me Andrea" and winking at her.. Fast forward to the present, i'm now going through a divorce and my kids keep asking, "where's Andrea?! WE WANT ANDREA!" All in all, Andrea made my experience at Ohgane GREAT! This place was good! It's been years since I went to a Korean restaurant where you grill your own food. I don't think we have one in my city but this place is worth the 20 mile drive. Expect a wait for dinner. We got there at 5:30pm on a Saturday and were seated 30 minutes later. I like how everything is setup when you arrive to your table. The meats were delicious! I loved everything that was pre-marinated and it took me a minute realize there was seasoning on the table for the non-marinated items. Server could have explained more since it was out first time. Nonetheless we figured it out and had a good dinner. I took a star off because although Yelp allowed me to book a reservation on the app, THIS RESTAURANT DOES NOT ACCEPT RESERVATIONS AFTER 5PM. The first time for this place, look so nice and big BBQ restuarant. The location is near by the main road in the plaza so there are alot of parking lot outside. When i came not so many tables because it was around 4.00 - 5.00 pm. We came with a group of 6 people and strated to oreder the server lady said we can order each time with 5 orders meat then we had to wait and oreder again. So we were ok and when the first set meat came All the meat look fresh and juicy. All were great. We strated eatting a half of them and tried to oreder the new set again the same lady said we had to wait and finish all the food first then could order again. Well then we ate all the food and tried to order..... Nobody came to ours table and all the server were busy actually 2 people working the whole restuarant. I just don't understand why? Every table started to call the server by push the ring on table and many customers were waiting to be seated. We were waiting until all the grilled burn then have to change and that was the time we could order again. We were not in a mood at that time and wanted to leave. Because was waiting too long. I looked the time around 6.00pm. I saw many servers came like triple and the customer could have the services after that time but we didn't want to order and wait again. If she let us order so we could continue eating at that time then we had to check and i understand that they charged 18% for gratuity automaticly with this services because a group. In honesty, I prefer the Oakland location hands down from this one. It's still a pretty decent Korean BBQ spot and whether you're there for the AYCE or the a la carte items, it's still a good place to go to. PROs: modern design, good for groups, quality meat, and plenty of choices to choose from CONs: it gets a bit cold inside because of all the exhaust fans going off. Flavor quality a notch below the Oakland location. Sometimes they can be a bit slow in replenishing AYCE items. I was disappointed when they served the cheese corn, it was way better in Oakland and had more of a sweet/milk flavor. Concord served the corn with cheese only. I have to give this place 3.5 stars... this would've been a solid 4 stars if the night didn't start off so weird, and if the service had been a little better. We put our name on the list on a Saturday night, and we were seated within 15 minutes or so, but in the very back of the restaurant. After waiting about 10 minutes, the server came and took our order for the AYCE bbq. We started off with four different meats, which only one was brought out and the three other meats were not brought out until we were done with our first. I was hesitant to give Ohgane (Concord Location,) another try. However, I was glad I did. They really changed the interior making the place more modern. There are new staff there who are more attentive then the previous. However at times it is still difficult getting all items ordered without reminding them of what is missing. Food quality has stepped up since my last visit. Not sure if it's because of Gen being down the street from them. The menu has changed a little bit adding a few extra meat items that is different from nearby KKBQ joints like duck (spicy or non spicy,) or one of my favorites joo mul luck (seasoned cubed beef.) The BanChan has gotten better, they increase the variety but quality of freshness is average. Overall it's not a bad place to grub. Especially if you don't want to wait 2-3hrs for Gen. We went here just last night. It was only my 2nd time going to a Korean bbq and my first experience at Gen wasn't good but I was willing to try another place. This place is much better than Gen, meats are much better, marinades are much better for those meats that are marinated. Not all are, but some of the ones that aren't, should be. The shrimp should have something on them already, hard to get any flavor on the shrimp, so I wont try those again. My favorite was the Hawaiian pork belly. We tried also the spicy and the garlic pork bellies (absolutely zero flavor) but the Hawaiian one we reordered 5 or 6 times. The brisket I don't like to begin with, no flavor. Ours came out frozen in rolls but to me it is tasteless and bland. Bulgogi is okay, I like the flavor of the sauce but not the meat so much. The glass noodles here were better than what we had at Gen, its just such a small plate brought out at a time for a larger group we had to keep constantly reordering them so everyone could get a little bit. I will never understand why they give a table of 8 people, one pair of scissors! We were seated in the back at a cute table with 2 grills but our table had no call button and twice we ran completely out of meat and nothing to grill we sat for minutes trying to get someones attention. Only the last time we asked for water refills did this guy bring us a water pitcher, before then we just had those annoying plastic bottles of water that empties pretty quick with a large group of people. They also oddly have stainless small drinking cups, I hate drinking out of stainless so next time I will bring my own water bottle which I almost did this time but decided not to. The food was mostly good though at $26.99 a person, I didn't eat near enough to make it worth that price. Service wasn't as good but it seemed to be because we didn't have a call button and we didn't know they even had those until the table beside us left and we saw this button on the end of their table, after that we used that button to call for help but for the hour before that we just kept trying to wave somebody down which trust me, does not work in here, we were ignored. Not once when we reordered items did it all ever come out, even with the people writing it down, it still never all came out. I would go back but this time I will take my own water, a knife to cut my own meat and pay attention if our table has a call button. This being only my 2nd time at a Korean bbq, I didn't know about the call buttons as Gen didn't have those but at Gen they didn't need them because they kept up with service better. With our group we were charged an automatic gratuity of 20% even though the menu clearly states they charge 18%. I don't know if the menu is outdated but saying one thing and charging another is illegal and if nobody else is noticing, they are making lots of extra money this way because I saw lots of large groups in there last night. read more

I think it's the best Korean BBQ in Bay Area! Every type of meat I've had here is really yummy! They take reservations. Plenty of parking in plaza. Today was a pretty hot day, and they had the AC on blast which was a plus because hot days + indoor BBQ isn't usually a good combination. We were plenty comfy despite bbq'ing hot meat on a hot day. Minor detail for minus 1 star... They didnt replace our grill once. They probably wouldn't have unless we asked them? The beef bulgogi and short ribs and chicken were seasoned well, and were very tasty! The marinated prime steak wasn't that flavorful. All-in-all it was a tasty and filling meal.
